The stock looks well taken care of as nothing on the floor is dusty and nothing in the cooler has that wet/damp cardboard feel (that's how you know a six pack carrier has been in the cooler too long). I've been back here a number of times and I've never bought anything that was past it's prime. I can't stress the importance of having fresh stock when it comes to beer, and so far, I've not been disappointed. There's also a gigantic wine and liquor selection, but I'm mostly here for the beer! The prices are also decent. Nothing that I've seen has been overpriced, and nothing seems under priced. Even the seasonal releases (Bell's Special Double Cream Stout for example) were priced right. I can't believe that I just discovered Wine Village! I just moved, so I'm even closer now, so this will likely be my go to spot on the way home for weekend stock-ups.

The beer selection is hands-down the best I've seen anywhere. You can buy literally any beer by the bottle, and mix and match for a 6-pack and get a small discount. The best part of all is they actively ask for feedback and want to know what people are looking for. On top of that, one of the guys stopped stocking the shelves and helped me find a slew of beers. Customer service just doesn't get better than that. I've been a diehard fan of Champagne's for years. I still like the place, but the restricted hours are making it harder for me to get over there and the selection just hasn't changed very much at all over the years. Moreover, going to Action Liquor made me realize how much I've been missing. Most importantly to me, I've been missing out on Right Brain, Oddside Ales, and Jolly Pumpkin for years, and they're Michigan based! If you're going to sell craft beer, I highly recommend at least stocking as much Michigan beer as you can. I've been to microbreweries all throughout a lot of Michigan - from Copper Harbor, to Traverse City, to Warren. Outside of Oregon (been there too), I believe Michigan has some of the best beers in the US, and we need to embrace that fact. I have the feeling that Action Liquor is going to get very popular and they're going to have to move to a larger place within the next couple of years. Beer is booming, and once the word gets out to enough people, they're going to be slammed. The business model is like no other place I've been to, the selection is unparalleled in Warren, and the prices are very competitive. It's hard to find a place with this amount of selection, and I urge the staff to never stop increasing the variety, even if they have to get rid of a lot of the wine. The name doesn't reflect the business very well. Just driving by, you just wouldn't think to buy craft beer here. I'm sure that liquor sales are still pretty good (hey, I like liquor too), but the name makes you think of 40's when it comes to beer. Simply put, there are a lot of liquor stores out there, and I think the name doesn't do justice to the great service they're putting out. If you check this place out, you simply will not be disappointed. Sure, they have liquor and wine too, but you will definitely find a beer you will absolutely love at this place.

Previously, the employees were knowledgeable about beer and wine. Now, what they lack in overall knowledge, they make up for in a desire to try new things and order whatever their customers want. For example, this past weekend I noticed a 4 pack of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. I've never tried this beer, but have heard good things. The problem was the price - $23.99/4 pack! I asked if they would consider breaking the 4 pack and they did! No problem. On top of that, the guy behind the counter said he would take one home to try so we could compare notes.
