This is not a place to have any person stay for rehab or anything. The potty chair they brought had feces in it. Arrived and sat for over 2-1/2 hours no help. Room is dirty and food delivered was not edible. I can't believe this location is still certified. Tried to contact admitting director but they were not available. Can't get out of this dump fast enough. If you don't die of neglect the filth will! So disappointed in this place and lake forest hospital for making the arrangements. A real dump. We chose Warren Barr North Shore for our Grandmother based both on recommendations and our own research, and in retrospect, could not possibly have done better for Grandma. From her first day she was treated with respect, sensitivity and empathy by what was clearly a quality and well trained and directed staff. My mom had a rehab stay here for 3 weeks this year. (Wondering if some of the negative reviews are for other locations?) Her room was clean and in good shape. The nurse and CNA staff were very nice and responsive. The PT and OT people were absolutely terrific and she got so much out of her rehab here - 6 days a week. The only negative was the food - but I have not ever heard of any rehab place or patient that likes hospital or rehab food. read more

Food is powdered and terrible, staff horrendously unqualified, medication not given , patients crying for help to go to the bathroom goes unanswered, staff forgets to bring dinner to rooms. Misery, misery, misery. I spoke to administration about medication timing and missed meals and that evening it all got even worse for my family member. Vindictive, cruelty. Hello, my name is Steven Kuffel. I've been very sick for 5 years. I'm Catholic and I've been given the last rites, three times. In the last 5 years, I have been in approximately 20 nursing homes or rehab facilities. I've been in places that have black ants in their food, I have also been in places that have mice in the room. I also have laid in my excrement and urine for as much as 8 hours at a time. I have experienced none of this at Warren Barr North Shore in Highland Park. Part of my healing process is rehab. The physical therapy and occupational therapy staff at Warren Barr have been tremendous. They are very understanding of me and patient of me. The best part is they really help and encourage me. I have made substantial progress in my ability to walk in approximately 50 days that I have been spent at Warren Barr. The staff's daily encouragement has greatly help me, not only walk, but it also have improved my attitude. The entire staff at Warren Barr, for the most part, have been highly professional towards me. I have crippled hands and a bad temper. I don't have much patience. Warren Barr has been the best place I've been at in 5 years that understands me and has the professionalism and patience to deal with me. The entire staff has been highly emphatic and compassionate and understanding with me. This is by far the best nursing home I've ever been in. My mom needed to stay here (Highland Park location) for a short term after her back surgery. I was looking for the right and clean place for her to stay and recover. Both my mom and my family were very satisfied with the care she received...from working with a dietitian, to physical therapy, to nurses and social workers... we couldn't be more happy. Her room was big, and clean (the building overall is well taken care of which made each visit pleasurable). It was such a great relief knowing that she was being taken care of while recovering. read more

My mother went here twice for rehab. The first time was a great experience even when it was in the middle of construction which was four years ago. The place is beautiful and clean. She was there for two weeks. The nurses and doctors she had were very friendly and good. The second time was Sept. 2016. My mother spent one night there. The RN that night was very rude and very unclassy. That night, my mother had to go to the bathroom. Usually, we know to press the call button ahead of time around 20 min prior. They are always under staffed at night. This experience was TERRIBLE AND HONELTY PISSED ME OFF. No one came. I did everything myself to help my mom. Then, an assistant came 20 minutes after! So 40 min had passed with no one. He had enough nerve to ask me "oh did someone call?" He could clearly see I was frustrated and saw I had cleaned and taken care of my mom myself and he just walked away with a clueless look on his face. Also, that RN that night had no tact of sympathy. When she spoke to me over the phone, she spoke about my mother as if she was an object. The terms this nurse used were: "checked out" "expired" and "storage." My mother had passed and she spoke of as if she was something that was in a grocery store! I gave it two weeks to see if i still felt the same. I contacted a manager who wasn't a available and then spoke to the head nurse. She explained to me that the vocabulary would be corrected. And that was it! After that experience I would not recommend this place. It sad that lots of nursing/homes and rehabs are like this everywhere you go. My best advice is to visit your loved ones when they are in a facility no matter what to monitor they're care is being done the right way. I understand it's hard sometimes to do that, but I slept with my mom there as much as I could especially on days off from work. read more

The lobby is very nice. The ward where my dad is staying is not.  No one greeted us or came to check him in.  They took him from the ambulance gurney to the bed and left him there in his coat and shoes and covered him up.  It seems there were only 3 people working.  The one was handing out medication, one was pushing a cart with linens, and the third finally came to put a bracelet on my dad and didn't even know how to do that. The tv was very loud and I didn't see a remote.  The rooms are not very clean and the floors are sticky.  The clock hadn't been corrected since the time change.  There were no paper towels in the bathroom.  The whole closet is full so there wasn't a place to put my dad's belongings.  There wasn't even a pillow on the bed.  They took one of the tray tables from the guy in the room with him and didn't even wipe it down.  They just pushed it over.  I love that there is a cross in the room but if you look at it, even Jesus is trying to get out.  He is being held on by rubber bands and a rosary.  My dad would enjoy the humor in that but I couldn't tell him that because he was keeping his shoes on in case he needed to get out quickly. On Friday evening, there was a man walking the halls in gym shoes and he didn't seem to speak English.  I had hung my dad's jacket on the hook on the wall near the door.  He came in and was going through my dad's pockets.  I saw him and sent him away.  I put the jacket in a drawer.  I told the person pushing the linen cart and she didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with that.  She said we just don't leave anything out.  It wasn't out on a chair in the hallway, it was on the hook in his room.  I guess he has dementia and can't remember anything except how to pick pockets. As I left on Friday night, the staff didn't even seem to know the code to get out of the ward.  What if there was an emergency?  I realize Covid has everyone short staffed but this is unacceptable.  For the amount of money being charged, this should be the Ritz.  I don't need that but I do need good, quality care so my dad can move back to a memory care facility. The care given when he had a slight fall on Saturday was excellent.  They were patient and kind and took care of his scrape.  I am hoping to see more positive interactions in the coming days. I went back to see my dad today, Sunday.  The clock is now on the dresser.  He now has a pillow that is flat as a pancake. He has been here since Friday night and the nurse today said his urine test from the hospital showed an infection.  She asked why he was taking Bactrim.  I said it was to prevent a UTI since he has a foley catheter and a bag.  She didn't even know that he had the catheter.  I am just glad that my dad is pretty good about emptying his own bag, since he has only gotten reminders about it from family since the staff didn't even know he had one.  The nurse intended to start him on an antibiotic but I said that he always has "dirty" urine because of the catheter.  She said they will wait to see what the nurse practitioner says tomorrow since he isn't having any symptoms. My dad's neurologist called in a prescription to change one of his medications.  My sister picked up the medication and brought it to Warren Barr and they would not give it to him.  They said they are waiting until their nurse practitioner reviews it.  The neurologist ordered stopping seroquel and starting thorazine.  If a doctor gave the order, I would think they should follow it.  I am hoping that he got the rest of his regular medications.  I know he hasn't gotten any breathing treatments or his Breztri inhaler. The calendar hanging on the bulletin board stated that there were exercises at 3pm today, Sunday.  I was told there were not.  My dad was lucky that we came to walk with him and occupy him for a few hours since there weren't any activities at all. Your recorded message while I was waiting on the phone does not match what I saw happening.  Your website doesn't either.  I think a video of what it really looks like inside your facility would be eye opening for many people.  Maybe all of your money is going to the other side of the building but the side my dad is on is terrible. I went back again today, Monday, 3/7.  The clock is now missing completely. I spoke with the nurse who kept saying that the nurse practitioner or doctor had to confirm the medicine change for my dad.  If a doctor prescribes a medication, I would like to think it would be administered.  I was told today that the nurse practitioner will not see my dad until Wednesday.  That means that he will be here 5 days before anything is done.  That is unacceptable.  No activities, no therapy, no medical evaluations.  He isn't being cared for at all. Run!! I was in charge of locating a place for my Uncle and feel terrible that I picked this place! I went everyday to be with him. This place spent all the money on making it look good to lure people in and once your in it's horrible! The big reason they give for short comings is we don't have enough help right now. The care is poor and I will never be fooled by a place that decorates to hook people ever again! I would rather have a place that needs updating but gives great care then see this nice decorated place that could care less about your good care. Call button rarely got answered and medicine was not given on time. Waiting is what you do here for everything. what I was told before going in was not the experience at all. Good care was not here. She was only 52 years OLD, Please look elswhere and do not believe the B.S that they tell you of how good they are. I am now alone. ** They are only out to make as much money as they can. They are extremely understaffed with nurses. And beside that they use LPN's not RN's. And I would guess to say that they are well under payed, because of the quality of care that they offer. Spent 10 day's in WB-one of the most stressful times ever. Severely understaffed, often took an hour for someone to respond to my activating my call light. Food is awful-bland and usually served cold. Nursing staff tries to please but because there are not enough nurses for the 200+ beds did not feel safe. Left numerous messages for senior management that never were answered. Was there 10 days-saw Doctor once. Called front desk for assistance-phone rang 32 times before anyone answered. Only positive resource was PT-qualified and personable staff. read more

In late Sept my Mom was sent to this facility for rehab from the hospital. I will never forgive myself for not checking out the place in person first. When we got there the room was FILTHY including a sticky floor which stayed that way for 2 days. The dresser had a broken drawer and had old decaying food in it. The TV did not work. The other residents on the floor were loudly complaining about their own issues and kept opening the door to come in. I complained to the management in person and via phone and got only excuses - they were having issues with the cleaning contractor. I didn't feel my Mom was safe and since I couldn't get her moved for a couple of days, I had to pay for one of her caregivers to stay with her when I wasn't there. It was so bad that after I got her out of there, I complained in writing to the county and state health departments and Medicare. Although there were issues found with security, it doesn't sound like they will do anything. If you care about your loved one, beware of sending them here. read more

Our experience at this facility was outstanding starting from the arrangement of transfer from the hospital to the facility and lasted until after discharge when the director reached out to make sure everything went smoothly and my grandmother was home safe. The staff was well-qualified, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond for any request my grandmother or our family may have had. The management team was very involved and communication was never an issue. The facility itself is beautiful, updated, and very clean. My mother has been here twice, both times after a knee replacement, and in short the care and service has been outstanding. The renovations to the building have been nothing short of amazing. She was there pre and post. They always accommodated us with a private room. The therapy staff is kind, patient, and professional. They worked very hard to get my mom moving again and both times she recovered very quickly. The attention to detail was unique to any healthcare setting I've seen. It might seem silly, but they stocked the fridge with Mom's favorite drink when she arrived, and this went a long way with her. Nursing was attentive, and her Orthopedic Doctor was pleased with her incision healing and recovery. I recommend this location to any of my friends and family looking for rehab on the North Shore. read more

I do not live in Highland Park, but my brother and his family do. My brother recently had a knee replacement (approx 1 week ago), which required rehab following the procedure. After asking many of his friends, whom also reside in Highland Park, he chose Warren Barr. I work in the healthcare field and from this experience, I figure it can be very helpful to write a review on a place like this, since many of us have loved ones or even ourselves who go through situations that require some rehabilitation for recovery. Upon admission, I accompanied my brother and his family to his room. When we arrived in the lobby we had an abundance of welcoming staff. Right away I knew he had made the right decision. As we entered the building, it smelled fresh, look elegant, and clean. I really admired the room with glass and silver design as we entered. We were told that is the "Welcoming Center" where staff and families meet. The room in itself showed just how transparent and effective the care and communication has been so far. My brother was settled in his room. Staff knew what he wanted right away from the conversations that were had at the hospital prior to arriving. He had a fridge stocked w/ Diet Coke (his faaavorite) and some chocolate pudding. Just what he asked for. The kitchen staff accommodated him from day one. No food is as good as home cooking, but with any dislikes, the kitchen would come to my brother's room and get requests for the next meal. The floor nurse knew her stuff. She educated my brother on all of his medication, what it was and what it was for. Ice was delivered promptly by the CNA team. All the horrible things said about nursing homes being understaffed was defeated by this experience for my brother. Call light response was favorable! The therapy team is outstanding. There was not a schedule of therapy times listed in my brother's room. Upon request my brother was able to decipher when he would have physical therapy and when he would have occupational therapy, through discussion w/ the therapy director. They know what they are doing. I have noticed successes already, as when I visit I try to watch my brother in his therapy sessions. There are three therapy gyms too. When watching the patients in therapy, you really get a positive vibe for recovery. The gyms have great views, music playing, and everyone in there fighting to reach their goals and get home. In only about a week, I have seen my brother's pain decrease and his functionality overall improve. Social services have been a great help as well, educating my brother and his family on the possibility of needing a bariatric walker upon discharge and setting up home healthcare (they explained thoroughly what this was to my brother, as he had never heard of it before). The SS team was informative and able to assist at all times. All in all, my brother is recovering wonderfully and on track to getting home. I guess the major point I want to stress about WBNS is that the staff truly cares about the patients and their recovery. This shows in all realms of the delivery of care, and the outcome when it is time to go home. Please check Warren Barr out when/if you or a family member need skilled rehabilitation or skilled nursing, I am glad my brother did! read more

I was there a couple days ago visiting my aunt that is really sick I cannot explain what means good service it's one of those cases you have to see it to believe it down to the last detail My aunt has been in numerous facilities in her lifetime nowhere has she been where every department head make sure she is comfortable to the best of their ability. Your "sorry" is the equivalent of my dog tucking his tail and looking sheepish when I discover that he has gotten into the garbage. I just just recently got discharged and completed my recovery from my knee replacement at Warren Barr. The facility is quite gorgeous, well kept, and managed nicely. Warren Barr takes cleanliness seriously and professionally here. The staff and nursing team took the time with me during my stay. My therapists were encouraging and motivating, I couldn't have done it without all of them. I received therapy 7 days a week including weekends. The nursing team was experienced and professional, whenever I used the call light for something I needed, the CNA's and nurses would be there right away to get me whatever I needed. My pain was very well managed, I have no complaints there. The food was great, they went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed and what I liked. Nurses would check on me often which was nice. Only thing, make sure to use their valet parking, it's just hard to find a parking spot, but the valet was very good when my family came to visit so it wasn't an issue. Warren Barr North Shore was very great. I recommend meeting the staff should you be in need of any rehab services, I was not disappointed. The communication and follow up was good. I have had a loved one in this facility and the Warren Barr in Lincolnshire. The nurse to patient ratio is inadequate. The nurse was told by another family member that their patient had a fever and the nurse stated that she didn't. I am the medical and financial POA. When I arrived, I demanded the nurse take her temperature she finally conceded. The nurse went in a frenzy getting ice packs and placing them on various parts of her body. This was just one incidence. The CNA's talk badly of the patients and ignore them.I was talking with a elderly lady who couldn't remember where her room was. I asked the CNA to help her 3 times. Each time he said he would be back. Finally after 45 minutes I told him to help her get back to her room or tell me the number and I would help her. I explained to the Nurses and CNA's that if someone is not there to help her eat that she will not eat. Her hands were shaking very badly and she was unable to feed herself. When I would arrive her tray was untouched. The nurse would tell me she didn't want to eat. She told me they (Nurse or CNA'S) told her they were too busy to help her. I would go and get her some food and feed her. She would eat because she was hungry. She just couldn't feed herself. Both facilities are very interested in getting your money. Especially if you are private pay. They will hound the patient for payment even when they are told someone from their family will be there in a few hours with a check. My family member was asked for money 4 times in a two hour period and each time they were told I would be there by 11:00 am. She was even asked for money by the nutritionist and events coordinator because it was on a weekend and the finance person left a message to get payment. They will not return your calls to address your concerns, but will swear they did when you can finally confront them face to face. This facility and the Lincolnshire facility are the same way. They only care about money. I had overpaid for my family members stay. Not by choice but at the insistence of Catrina. She actually wanted payment for 1 month even after I explained she would only be there a few days. I was told at discharge I would receive my refund. 2 weeks later I called to question the refund. I was told by Catrina that she must have forgot to request it and she would do it now. I have since left 4 messages for Isaac (I am told he is the director of the Highland Park facility) to resolve this issue and he has never once returned my call. I am now dealing with Nicole. She also doesn't return phone calls. I called again today and informed the person answering the phone that if I did not receive a call back I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I received a call back this time from Nicole. She said I should receive my refund in the mail next week sometime. "call her back if I don't". Needless to say, I still have not received my refund. I would not recommend this or any Warren Barr facility. Just because something appears nice with expensive decor doesn't mean you will receive the best care or that you are even seen as a person and not just dollar signs. I would be more than happy to speak with anyone from Warren Barr that would like to speak with me concerning the numerous problems/issues I have encountered at both the Highland Park and Lincolnshire facility. read more

I was a patient at your facility from November 12, 2014 through December 13, 2014. I was transferred there from Lake Forest Hospital. When I arrived at Warren Barr, I was a very sick woman, but as with most individuals, I did not want to admit the severity of my illness. In all honesty I didn't even want to be at your facility, that was a reality I did not want to accept. Upon my arrival I was made to feel welcome and special by your staff. Everyone was like a ray of sunshine, but in my dark space I was unwilling to accept this gift. I became sad and depressed. I did not want to do anything that was on my schedule. Sometimes you know that you have to do what you are being asked to do, as it will only benefit you. One day after returning from Therapy, I was sitting in my room alone and just started to cry. One of your staff happened to pass by my room and overheard me crying. She came in to console me, hold my hand and ask me what was wrong. After our brief conversation, she said that she would be sending in the psychologist, Dr. Wendy Sabbath, PhD. I looked for this staff member during my stay, but never saw her again, although I can remember her face. Perhaps it was an angel. The next day, Dr. Sabbath came in and sat and listened to me. I was able to let out all of my feelings and from that point on my life changed for the better. Dr. Sabbath continued to visit me every Friday and helped me to realize that things would get better. Dr. Sabbath had daily activities planned for me. She totally changed my negative perception of what a psychologist really is, too much TV I guess. It was truly a wonderful experience. To this day I continue with many of the activities and techniques that I learned during my stay. Once I got my mind and body on the same page, I started to make progress. Each day became a little brighter. I started to look forward to and enjoy my physical and occupational therapy. As I regained my strength and lost weight in the process, I began to look forward to going home. This letter is simply to celebrate your staff. The nurses did not just start my I.V., they would talk to me and ask how was my day going. We started to establish a routine and a bound. Being very sick is scary, lonely and uncertain, but Warren Barr has one of the most attentive and caring medical staffs that I have had the good fortunate to engage with. They are to be applauded. You often hear and read horror stories about facilities that offer long-term care, Warren Barr is the farthest from any of those misconceptions. Even when patients were not very cooperative, your staff proceeded on as if nothing was wrong and did it with a smile. Healthcare personnel that deal with long-term patients are special and unique. It takes a different set of skills and patience and for that I thank the staff at Warren Barr North Shore. With the continued support of my husband, family and friends, I have made a complete recovery. None of which would have been possible without your dedicated medical staff. The worst rehab facility ever!!! Do not even think of putting your loved one in any Warren Barr or Legacy owned facility. They do not care about the patient. We put my parent here for rehabilitation and checked out the website. It is not at all what appears on their website. They have not remodeled the facility. It looks old and dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned when my parent arrived. Dirty towels hanging, garbage still in the can. I have see better food at run down gas stations then what they serve here. Only saving grace were the physical therapist and occupational therapist. This facility is poorly managed and really should not be considered for anyone. read more

Warren Barr North Shore promises but doesn't deliver. The exception is its physical and occupational therapists, who are superb. The deception begins with the website, which promises escorted visits home and transportation for family members. It was one of the reasons I chose WB. There is no transportation for families. Escorted visits home are not the norm. They can be arranged if one can climb into an Escalade. With a hip fracture that didn't fully heal, I couldn't. I was promised a private room which didn't materialize in spite of being "on the top of the list" for three weeks. The kitchen ran out of food several times. Worse, the pharmacy ran out of medine. It took three days to get a medication that I need on a regular basis. The nurses and CRNs are pleasant and most are eager to be helpful. I was there during a busy period when WB was understaffed, with a nurse and 2 CRNs having 26 patients to care for. I had to wait a long time for anyone to respond to the call button. In the "wonders never cease category" . I need to tell you of another gem , she happens to be the Administrator here at WBNS. Her name is Lorrie, she is inundated with problems, shortages, complaints and helping the residents. You might not think so, but she is awoke! I witnessed her down here on a Saturday where she jumped in and helped. She is the captain of our ship. Kudos to her. Now you might ask who the hell am I ? I am a resident here, I came here from the hospital in a very weakened state. I am improving.I also need to tell you my background, I am decreed in Psychology, I have worked as a probation officer for the juvenile system , and I also was the Time Out Safety Moniter for a tri county behavioural school . I helped troubled children. These experiences have made me familiar with facilities such as WBNS. The problems here are everywhere in this industry. So you are responsible for your body. Please do not have your dying family go to Warren Barr! My mother was dying of brain cancer and we were unable to care for her. Loosing your mother it hard enough but I have spent everyday crying about leaving her here. The last two months were spent in a room alone in bed with little interaction from anyone at this facility. She was feed purée food that I would not touch! Mom could have eaten regular meals but the staff was to lazy to bring her to the lunchroom. She was made to stay in bed as were most of the people I saw there. There are activities on the schedule but I asked everyone I could daily to bring her and no one did. I would leave her toothbrush and hygiene products in spacific spots and not see them touched by staff. If I didn't brush her teeth they would have b Never been brushed. I had to demand she be dressed because they would leave her in hospital gourds with food crusted on it daily. He food tray would be dropped infront of her daily where she would be left to drop half of it on her clothing and down her kneck. The whole two months she never drank her milk because she could not open it and they didn't care to assist her. I could go on and on about the neglect my mom recived at this place. Bed sores never flipping her- iv port never changed- staff especially the administrators had attitude even the social worker is worthless! He did nothing and you New it the minute you talked to him. In the two months I had one meeting to update me on her care and that was just with the social worked and occupational therapist. I could go on and on but the bottom line is- stay away! This is a marvelous facility. My wife's best friend had a hip replacement back in May, and the doctor sent her to Warren Barr for six weeks of therapy. In six weeks she was walking again without any difficulties. These people are miracle workers! The place is beautiful and clean, and the staff is always at your service. This is the worse nursing home I have ever been to. I have worked in healthcare over for 20yrs, and have never seen such an incompetent nursing staff. My mother was admitted there from the hospital for less than 24 hrs. She is a full code and became very ill, they called transportation instead of 911 and let my mother lay there for over 30 min in distress! I traveled from Waukegan to Highland Park hospital to find my mother wasn't there, had to double back to Warren Barr searching for my mother to find Elite Transportation in the front lobby with her waiting for paramedics because her condition was to serious for them to transport. Over an hour had passed by this time! Transportation workers called 911 not the nursing facility! My mother was admitted to ICU at Highland Park Hospital after they struggled to get a stable Blood pressure in the E.R. If you really love your family member please DO NOT TAKE THEM TO WARREN BARR OF HIGHLAND PARK. It will be the beginning of your worse nightmare. This place should be shut down immediately. They always have an excuse for their incompetence that could cost you the life of your loved one. I have to select a star just to post this review but if there was an rating possible for less than zero I wouldn't give them that much credit. If I could give this place 0 stars I would give it a negative 10. They tried to force my mom into signing paperwork giving any income she had over to them and when she said she was only there for short term rehab and if she turned over her money she would lose her apartment and everything she owned they told her oh well, it's standard. I advised her not to sign them, I called the admissions lady left her a voicemail and never heard back. They were not doing my mom's physical therapy like they should have and she is diabetic but they brought her a powered doughnut and orange juice for breakfast. Then within the week they are telling her she is being discharged (without her doctors consent) we were told it was because of her insurance company and when she was discharged they didn't give her, a wheel chair, walker, cane or shower chair. She was just told her insurance wouldn't cover it. Then my mom gets a call from her insurance company today about her discharge and they told her it was not their orders for her to be discharged, and her insurance would have covered all the medical equipment she needed to move around but the staff at Warren Barr NEVER reached out to the insurance. So the woman with her insurance company spent about half the day on the phone trying to contact Warren Barr who refused to give them information from her stay with them, then reached out to the hospital and her cardiologist and after everything my mom should have never been discharged in the condition she still is in and they are getting her the medical equipment she needs now. My advise, RUN, RUN FAST AND RUN FAR. Do not let your loved ones stay there. I am going to report this place and hope they are investigated for the horrible way they not only treated my family member but every single person in this facility that has been mistreated. read more

My Dad is here right now and we can't wait for him to get home or be transferred. The staff/patient ratio is very inadequate especially for clients needing attention in the bathroom or to get from bed to chair and back again. Ice water is not routinely brought to the patient rooms and the beds are not made in a timely fashion. At 1:30 pm we had to ask for the bed to be changed. Linens only get changed every other day. The food is not good. Lots of chicken options and mushy vegetables. We're bringing I lots of outside meals to enhance nutrition and entice his appetite. Most importantly physical and occupational is not scheduled and offered as advertised. This has been most distressing as this is all our patient is here for. He is here to gain strength and weight following a hospital stay. We're lucky to have a lot of family in the area to be with my Dad and make sure he is safe and gets what he needs. These concerns have been voiced to administrators with little positive response so far. Our experiences at Whitehall were much better. Whitehall had a considerable wait list this time and so we're here. read more

Once again I would like express how impressed I am with this rehab center. This is second time my mom Lerman Irina ended up in here for rehab after knee injury. It has been little bit over the year and I can see soo many good change happening here at the rehab. This place is not your usual old ,smelly ,unpleasant nursing home. when you get in the door it feels like pretty boutique hotel. Everyone greets you with the smile , there is water to drink , beautiful flowers arrangements on each floor and it truly starts from the entrance door. Everyone at the door and at the desk is always so pleasant and ready to help. Employees remember my mom and us and that made such a difference in my moms feelings. Even though no one wants to be at the rehab but seeing familiar and kind faces makes it totally easier. I would like to say huge thank you to Rodrigo who is an exceptional employee and helps patients with any housekeeping issues. Nurse practioners Lorrie ,Diane, Dr.Hernadez thank you soo much for always staying on top of thing and updating me and my mom.The nursing staff -Kiran, Angela and all the others ones that I do not know the names, the CNAs _Nicole, Jessica, Booth, Alexandra, and other ones, nigh staff-Thank you so much for taking care of my mom and always be there to meet her needs. Sorry do not know everyone's names.And once again PT and OT department Karla and Julia -you guys are like family to us, my mom always tells me that if you would not push her beyond her limits she would not be able to walk ever. Please continue to encourage her ,she values all your hard work!!! You truly are amazing and such hard workers. I also want to mention how impressed and happy we are with activity department .Kelly thank you sooo much for remembering my mom name and always arrange for her to be outside when she asks for it. It helps with her recovery tremendously not being stock in her room and feel confined. Last year we did not know that we had this option, we wish we did . Overall it is an excellent rehab facility! I only would like to mention that we had several encounters with very long call light response (an hour) and we addressed it and it is slowly improving. Great facility for excellent care! My Mom was cared for by an outstanding group of nurses and CNAs. Special thanks go out to Nurse Reagan Warden (caring and competent and responsive), CNA Irene Komperda (sweet and thoughtful with an ever present smile), CNA Hilda Bautista (very responsive and caring), and last but not least CNA Deyby Loya who was on duty when my Mom passed and was taking care of both of us with empathy, positive demeanor, and competence. Once again I would like to say that Warren Bar North Shore Highland Park continues to deliver an outstanding care to my mother . It has been been very rocky recovery road for my mother unfortunately, but hopefully soon she will finally make it home. If it is not for medical team and administration and all the other departments that are involved in every day patients recovery at Warren Bar North Shore I am not sure if my mother would be with us today. I would like to say huge thank you from my mom and all our family to all the staff at Warren Bar ,to everyone who helped my mom and continues to help today ,to all very attentive, caring, compassionate Dr.Hernandez,NP Polina,Sophia, Ashley administrator,Social workers Chelsea,Avi, nurses (Shanaya,Megan,Deni,Angela,Leslie ,Rodrigo from guest relations and all the other ones that I do not remember the names,sorry ),nurse assistants(Jaimie,Maribella,Rufina,Oddi, Rolston, Brenston, Alex(who I trully have to say is the most compassionate and kind worker, such a sweet heart and amazing human being ) and the rest of workers that work PM and night shift), physical therapists Carla who does not only provide excellent PT training but also treats my mom like her own mother-combs her hair, does not hesitate to give her bed pan if she needs it, Julia from OT ,nursing staff from wound department, restorative therapy workers -Maria and Jerome. I would like to say it again that every rehab place starts from the entrance to it. Eventhough it has been very stressful 3 month with my mom being sick on and off -It has been always so pleasant to come to visit my mom and I have been always greeted with the smile from valet employee and receptionist, asked if I needed help to carry things from receptionist(and ofcourse gorgeous flowers everywhere and smell of botanical garden)Everyone in the Warren Bar North Shore always goes above and beyond. Every time my mother had to get to hospital,her room was always waiting for her to come back, everyone was trying to make my mom feel welcome back and less stressfull for her and us . We want to say that Warren Bar North Shore in Highland Park is trully an outstanding Rehabilitaion center with staff that is highly trained and very compassionate. I am a nurse myself and I know that some days at work are very busy and very stressful ,some days there is not enough of help and every patient wants help right away. And even on those days staff made sure that my mother received help she needed. I will always recommend Warren Barr North Shore to any patient that needs to get rehabilitation because Warren Bar North Shore provides excellent rehabilitaion care and has everything that patients need- from great modern and clean facility, from excellent management team,dietary department, medical/nursing team ,PT/OT and everyone who is involved in every day patients well being.
