There is a paved trail for biking or rollerblading or just plain ole walking. There are also several "off the beaten path" trails so you can kind of venture off into the more wooded area. It's not too overgrown with foliage though, so you'd have a hard time getting lost or injured (unless you're not paying attention). All the trails lead back to the paved trail so you have zero chance of getting lost and the back end of the park is fenced, as it faces a street, so it's so small you cannot get lost. Seriously. As mentioned, there is access to the lake. I think it's Hicks Lake, but I'm only going off the street name. You can feed the ducks or maybe go swimming. There obviously is no lifeguard and I'm not even sure you can go swimming here. Do your own research. After you're done swimming (if it's allowed), which I'm not sure how toxic the water is, you can come up the hill a bit and picnic on one of the two picnic tables. There are no pavilions or covered tables so it may not be the best when it's raining or if you're hosting a big party. You might want to try the Woodland Creek Community Park since they also have a community center for like if you're doing a wedding or something. http://www.yelp.com/biz/woodland-creek-community-park-lacey The parking area is small as well with maybe no more than 10 spots that are not angled. The general feel of this park is just enough to make you sit right after a short stroll. Hold your pee as there are no bathrooms, or just pee in the water or woods (don't hate). The park is well kept and there have trash cans and doggie doo bags. It's not as lengthy as I would like. I like to have at least 2 or 3 miles so I can burn off some energy. That's one reason I like Grandview Chambers Bay Bike and Hike Trail . Now that is a park! http://www.yelp.com/biz/grandview-chambers-bay-bike-and-hike-trail-university-place. The grass was still dewy and wet although it was like 4 o'clock in the afternoon. My dogs didn't like that so much (highfalutin dogs!!), but after a while they got over it as they saw I was not going to put them back in the car until they made an attempt to run around. Someone from before left some dog toys in the park so I used a ball tosser and surprisingly they went after it, which they don't do when we are at home. Usually they like me to wait on them hand & foot (what a dog owner does sometimes, right?) There was a frisbee on the ground and a squeaky football which they were uninterested in. The park is fenced and double gated so you don't let stray dogs in or out. Although, the fence is kind of short so I'm sure medium to large dogs could just jump over the fence. The last review said no doo bags but there is a station with bags and a small trash receptacle. I couldn't check it since there was no cell signal for me. Cell signal was kind of sparse depending on where you're at on the island

Anyway Steve and I have strolled through here a few times and if your dogs aren't like ours it's really a nice, wide and spacious leash free park to run your dogs. The bathrooms are clean and the walking trail is nice. Grass can be a little muddy sometimes though. You can also watch the ducks swim or sometimes catch a view of a couple getting married at the Community Center. As I am a stickler for parking, if the park is busy, as it has been since it's summer and Washington has been getting it's 10 sunny days out of 365, people are out and about and grillin' n chillin'. So, the parking lot lately has been full, so you have to park in the grass directly behind the regular parking spaces. As mentioned, the grass can be muddy so if your car has a tendency to get stuck, you may not want to chance the grass. Overall, it's a great place to bring a lawn chair or a blanket and just relax.
