In short, my insurance was approved initially then found out later several treatment modalities were declared out of network which is now being investigated further and a final decision pending. Further details of this outcome as well as complaints filed with medical review boards will be forthcoming. My major complaint at this time and wish to warn others about is that as the process has unfolded no efforts have been made to utilize the massage and ultrasound therapies for which I have been approved to develop a strategy of pain management to offer a modicum of relief even though I enquired about this this afternoon with no response other than to leave me in unimaginable pain as decompensation is occurring rapidly since going several weeks without any treatments. The only response has been an unwillingness to discuss using the tools available at this time to offer relief in seeming violation of the Hippocratic Oath in my opinion, but instead trying to make certain Southern Chiropractic has no responsibility in the outcome now under investigation. Consumers please be wary and understand that in my experience compassion and care ends with funding with no demonstrated desire to strategize what pain amelioration can at the time be offered with the concern shifting to avoiding any responsibility as my insurance did approve some therapy with no discussion with me of how those could offer me some relief as the rest of the denial of services is under Blue Cross and Blue Shield investigation.

I have heard wonderful things about Amy Kitching. However, when I called with a simple question,…read morewhich I began to tear up about, I was hung up on by the receptionist. I called back and left a message for the office manager. Amy herself returned my call claiming she was who I spoke with earlier (false) and proceeded to tell me in an extremely condescending tone that what I was asking for (a basic maintenance adjustment bc my chiro was out of town.) was abnormal and impossible. I have had maintenance adjustments at Ryan Family Chiropractic without being treated any different than my regular weekly chiro visits and even saw a chiro with no difficulty in New Zealand. Neither of these places turned me away. Nor did they need to consult my regular chiro or do X-rays. But Amy wasn't interested in providing a simple adjustment for me. Makes me wonder if they are a "crack and whack" chiro. The kind that cranks out a hundred of the same crappy adjustments a day. Either way, she wasn't interested in treating me and made that very clear. I would recommend trying someone else with more compassion and respect for patients than I was given.
