Since the rain was doing its best to ruin my dream of pondside dining, I headed inside and was greeted warmly. A friendly waitress translated the Dutch menu into English with the patience of a saint, ensuring I didn't accidentally order something that would challenge my taste buds in unexpected ways. Enter my meal: a gloriously crafted open egg sandwich with salad, paired with decaf coffee (yes, I'm *that* person). What can I say? It was delicious--so delicious, in fact, that my stomach betrayed me, forcing me to stop at just half.
