I feel REALLY bad giving this 2 stars since so many of the participating food trucks are amazing on their own and this sounded like such an awesome idea... but if I am to keep my Yelp integrity, I have to be honest.
It was advertised as 11am-9pm or something like that, but by 3:30-4pm(ish) there was NOTHING left. Many of the trucks had already left, a couple were down to one or two menu items, and a couple were just sitting there with "sold out" signs over the window.
Bad for us, good for them, I guess! I'm sure running out of food is never a bad sign for someone who sells food for a living, but for a group including an out of town visitor and a hungry high schooler, it was not a stellar situation. We wandered around in the cold for a few minutes deciding if we should just eat whatever was left (since our first choices were gone), then hopped back in the car and headed to Coco's Italian Market for a fail proof experience.
I really hope this thing happens again, but maybe with a little more preparation? Have the trucks come in shifts or something if they can't stock enough food for the whole event. I'll definitely try it again next time! read more
