It is truly miles better than anything you will find at a grocery store or warehouse club, and the prices are very reasonable for the level of quality you are getting. Every cut is fresh, well prepared, and clearly sourced with care. You can genuinely taste the difference. What really sets Tony's apart is the service. The team consistently goes the extra mile by offering recommendations, custom cuts, and cooking tips, and by making you feel valued as a customer. It is clear they take pride in their work and in serving the community. Having a good old fashioned neighborhood butcher shop like this is a special treat. Tony's Butcher Shop truly values its customers and the Grayslake community, and we are lucky to have it. If you care about quality, great service, and supporting a local business, this place is a must visit.

We bought steaks, sausages, bacon, ground beef, and a brisket. The 2 filet mignons we bought were cooked that night and I was blown away by the quality. The flavor was so much better than any typical store bought meat. A couple nights later, we made burgers with the ground beef and it's unanimous that the flavor was so much better than any ground beef we'd ever had before. I absolutely can't wait to try the sausages, bacon, and especially the brisket, which will be smoked this coming weekend. Needless to say, I think we will be frequent customers at Kearn's Quality Meats because, well, their meat is top notch quality. Also, they have dogs that greet you, and how can you not like that?!

I ordered their smash burger. It was good but not impressive. We had asked for sauce on the side, but I think they interpreted that as additional sauce on the side. The burger had sauce on it as well. The flavors were dominated by the sauce. Being a butcher shop I was hoping for a really good burger. I'd rate it average. We went a long way to visit and sadly while the staff is super friendly and helpful, what my sister and I ordered wasn't something we'd make the drive for to get again. Maybe we choose the wrong things. The parking for us was easy. The staff very friendly and helpful. The pizza on the bar looked dried out or outright burned so we stayed away from that. We were looking forward to something from their hot bar, but sadly it wasn't open on Sunday. We felt it was expensive for what we received and like I said earlier we had higher hopes. If you're in the area it's a good spot to stop, but we wouldn't make the trip to there specifically... It was good...not great. We had higher hopes.

We stopped in today just to check it out, and it turned into one of those unexpectedly great local experiences. It's always a pleasure meeting other Greeks, and Petros, the owner, was incredibly welcoming; honestly felt more like catching up with family. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, and the service is genuinely personal. Their meat is of the highest quality I've had since Greece. If you happen to stop in on the weekend, definitely check out their hot specials. Overall, Prime Beef is one of those neighborhood gems that reminds you why local butcher shops still matter. High-quality product, great people, and a welcoming, community feel that's hard to find.
