Absolutely do NOT use this business. The owner, Richard…read moreAllen, had our pontoon boat from November 2024 to June 2025--a total of seven months--to repair hurricane damage and reupholster the seats. He initially promised completion by Christmas, then New Year's, then mid-February, and finally Easter. Each deadline came and went, with a revolving door of excuses: employees quit, contractors were unavailable, he was hospitalized, or on vacation. We paid him $12,000 in good faith. After seven months, not only was the boat still not repaired, but it was in worse condition than when we dropped it off. It sat exposed to the elements the entire time--uncovered. The upholstery had been removed, and the foam cushions had rotted. Both batteries were missing, wires had been cut, and stale fuel was left in the tank. Richard Allen has acknowledged he owes us the money but now says he "just doesn't have it." We are left with a severely damaged pontoon boat that now needs a full refurbishment, and he has kept the money. Do not be fooled by how friendly he seems. The experience was devastating. Avoid this business at all costs. We have reported him to the BBB and the Florida State Attorney's Office.

Worst marine mechanic ever…read more I hired Tim Smith to reinstall the out-drive on my boat, normally a 1 hour job.  After watching Andy screw around with it for 2 hours I was told it was done.  I took the boat to the boat launch  and put the boat in the water.  IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE.  I had to pull the boat out of the water and take it back to the yard.  The problem was that Andy had not tightened down the shift cable AND he had installed the shift cable fitting backwards.  I ended up fixing the problem myself. The other problem that I had was that the oil pressure sensor had been installed in the wrong hole, so no oil pressure reading at the dash.  I told Andy to move the sensor to the correct location.  After watching him accomplish absolutely NOTHING for 2 hours I decided to go to the auto parts store and get a remote gauge.  I told him to screw it into a different hole on the block  that had a plug in it.  This took 1 hour.  It was only 1 1/4 inch fitting!  Of course I ended up fixing this problem myself several days later.  It took 20 minutes plus the time it took to go to Ace Hardware for a small brass fitting. After getting home I called Tim Smith to review with him what an incredibly incompetent job Andy had done.  Tim told me to call Andy and work it out.  I did and was told "I'm sorry".  This is not good enough because it cost me 5 hours of labor for 1 hour of worthwhile work done PLUS I had to fix pretty much everything myself.
