Walton's is a locally owned equivalent to Zaxby's, Guthrie's, Cane's, etc. Their main focus is on wings and chicken tenders, but they also have burgers and some home-cooked food. It's a fairly large restaurant as far as these types of places go. The interior wasn't spotless, but there are lots of tables available, and we found a clean one quickly. Service was a little distracted by the Bama game playing on the TVs, but our food came out very quickly. Chicken tenders were worthy of a 2 star rating, wings were a 4, so a 3 I suppose it must be. The wings were quite good. Although they were small, they were tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Sauce was nice and hot, which is good since we got the wings hot! Celery was very fresh. Ranch came in a Ken's ranch cup, so it's not house-made and was a touch on the salad dressing-y side. The chicken tenders just didn't have enough flavor. They seemed hand breaded, so that was good, but there didn't seem to be a ton of seasoning. I also didn't get any sauce with them. Apparently, they have the standard special sauce, but they either forgot to put it on my plate or I was supposed to ask. I assumed they just came with the sauce automatically (you're charged for extra), so I didn't. They really, really needed some sauce to spice them up. The toast wasn't buttery or crispy enough, and the coleslaw was too thick and mayo-laden for me. On the bright side, the fries were really good and crunchy! I might return to give the fingers another shot with their special sauce if my boyfriend really wants their wings, but I can't say I'm itching to go back. read more

Takes way to long to get through the drive through and can't get your order right won't be back

Doing business down on Hwy 69 South in Tuscaloosa, Alabama this morning and went to Taco Casa but the drive thru line was so long so I left there. Was about to pass Walton's Chicken up and go home for lunch and noticed there was a very short line. So I drove in there and let me tell you. It took me longer to decide what I wanted to order than it took me to get my lunch. I placed my order for a 2 pc meal Chicken tender box that had fries, toast, chicken tenders, one sauce, and a drink for only $5.68 and that was the whole total. By the time I placed the order it only took 6 minutes to get my whole order. The order was hot, fresh and tasted great. I was greeted with a smile by Malorie who waited on me and the other ladies were all smiles and so polite. I was totally taken back by the best customer service from start to finish that I had gotten in a very long time. I made it a point to thank them and tell them I will be back. I drive all the way around the building one more time and parked under a tree to get in the shade and eat my lunch. Put down the windows and sat there, ate lunch, and watched how fast the customer service was. It was a work of art and if any of those people were treated like I was and their meals correct like mine then boy let me tell you that there are some happy customers out there tonight. I would recommend everyone looking for great food and great customer service then this is the place to be for sure. Go check them out. read more

Walton's - Chicken Tender Meal- chicken tenders, sauce, fries, toast, and it came with a drink too. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Service was awful. Lady pouring ice had the biggest attitude EVER. Walked in waited 5 minutes to get our order taken Food was still good though. But I'd rather eat dog food then deal with that service again. It was better 10 years ago. read more

This place is so delicious and the service is always amazing! Waltons sauce is the best thing I've ever tasted and I'm pretty much in the drive thru every week. The mac and cheese is also 10/10 as well as the mozzarella sticks read more

Place has taken a serious nose dive in the past 2-3 years... Takes way too long to get your food now and they seem to prioritize drive thru orders over inside and call in orders. 5 years ago the place was great. read more

The first time I went, I waited almost 30 minutes in the drive-thru lane, and there were only a couple of cars ahead of me. The food during this visit was good though. Enough to warrant a second visit. The second visit I waiting just as long, but the food was horrendous. The chicken fingers were dry and small, and the fries were soggy and were literally just a scrap portion (like they ran out and just filled the box with whatever that had left without cooking up a fresh batch). The toast was barely that--slightly toasted on one side, and looked like plain white bread on the other. And here's the kicker: they left out the sauce! I didn't have a complicated order. I didn't have a large order. I'm just trying to figure out how you take so long to fix one of your main dishes, then mess it up? They had time enough to check (and re-check) to make sure it was right. To say they are 1 for 2 is being generous. I will probably give them one last shot, but if it's not greatly improved, I probably will not be returning. read more

Love their chicken tenders be sure to ask for extra sauce. I hear their other stuff is good too.

I want to love this place so much. It's sad that I cannot. Everytime I have eaten here (and I have eaten here way to many times over the years) my order has not been correct. The fries are undercooked and the chicken has been dry and seriously over salted. If you step outside of what's on the menu, it's going to be an issue. For instance, asking for extra fingers, no coleslaw, extra fries, or even extra sauces becomes a total confusion for them. I'm not even sure where the problem actually is either. I've been in and the cashier put the order in wrong, or it was correct and the cooks missed what was sent to them. I've even had the drive thru give me someone else's order. The reason I want to love it is because the kids working here are beyond sweet. They are trying so hard. You can tell for most of them, it's their first job. They always act polite and are so cheerful. They take the work so serious, which is weird that they never get my order correct. In a way it makes the whole experience funny. Unfortunately because of the food and them having never gotten an order correct, I cannot give more than three stars. I would say I'd be back, but I've been enough times already to know what's going to happen. read more

Great food, great service, didn't go inside. Got it to go. Seemed to be clean and nice inside though

3/19/2021 I am required to wear a mask just to enter their building but the men preparing my food are not. I walked in to order a salad to go. I paid and was waiting for my order. Then I noticed not one but two men preparing my food did not have a mask on. No, they weren't just pulled down around their chin, they didn't have one at all on their face. To top that off, one of them sneezed and while he did sneeze into his elbow, he continued preparing food. I don't like wearing masks but I comply because it's the law. When I asked for a refund, I told the lady why. Her response to me was "I don't make the rules." Apparently she isn't enforcing them either. read more

The wings here are very very small its as if they came from a baby chick instead of a chicken.this was my first time dining here, and i caint say that i will ever return read more

Walton's - a basket of fries and a sandwich - Chicken Wings Near Me - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The wings here are great! I really like the meal they have with toast, fries and the drink. You can also choose between two flavors.

This evening I ordered the six piece medium wings as a quick snack before I pick my child up from dance practice. So n my way back as I'm snacking and counting ( with a double check) they only gave me five wings. Unacceptable for the price of food. It's the whole principle. I paid the $10.50 for six wings... give me my six wings!!!! read more

Staff was not friendly, chicken was fatty, and fries had little to no flavoring/seasoning on them

Second time here. Very little wait to order. Food brought to table quickly and was fresh. I had the Sampler plate (2 grilled chicken fingers, 2 fried, 2 Mozzarella sticks, Texas toast & Fries). Fried fingers were good, grilled were pretty bland. Mozzarella sticks cooked just right. They only provide 1 sauce at no charge, which is typical for similar restaurants, but seems smaller. Price is comparable to similar restaurants. Overall will return when in the area but would not go out of my way. read more

Doesn't look like much when you are driving by, but if you are ever in the mood for some chicken tenders, this is the place. Their chicken tenders are juicy, and moist. Their toast is not too hard but soft and buttery. I LOVE THEIR SWEET TEA. Their fries are also good!!! Would be a 5 star if they offer more on the menu. read more

One of my absolute favorites to "go to". Any item on the wide arranged list would be pleasing to your belly! Good food, comfortable price, fast friendly service. It's a must! read more

Horrible service. After 20 years of eating at this restaurant I am done. They messed up one of my orders and we told them about it. After 25 minutes we had to remind them to remake our food. After everyone was done eating we finally got or 3 tender plate. The manager on duty said there was nothing she could do we would have to call the owner the next day. After talking the owner he told me there was nothing he could do. He was unbelievably rude and told me if I had a problem I could come up there and apply for a job and try to do better myself. Unacceptable behavior from the owner of the restaurant. Will NEVER spend a dime here again. This place has quickly gone downhill and now I know why. read more

We came in 15 minutes before they were closing with 4 hunger teenage boy after a basketball game. I apologized and asked if they minded if we ate in the restaurant and promised that we wouldn't make a mess. They were all so sweet and helpful. We left them a well deserved tip and thanked them for their kindness. Great customer service and food! Another reason why we love Walton's! read more

This place has been around for probably over 20 years it was Willy tees and now waltons probably for the past decade! The menus is very large and isn't limited to only chicken fingers but salads wings and even burgers! Pretty much something for everyone!!! I have tried multiple items on the menus but my least favorite thing is honestly the chicken tenders they have zero seasoning and require the sauce similar to guthries but without the sauce I wouldn't like them! Now they do have some of the best hot wings in the area!!! I love them! That's mostly my go to item the hot wings! I suggest the super sampler with with 4 tenders grilled fried wings cheese sticks and fries! You get the most for ya $$$$! I just recently started eating their burgers which are really good! The meat is fresh and they offer red or purple onions!!! I love purple or red onions! Plus they make them seem like restaurant burgers!! I WOULD SUGGEST ANYONE GET THE BURGER! And the wings! Mild is good!!!! And hit them up on Tuesday they offer true 50 cent wings! Which means you don't have to order a set amount!!! Ya can get 3 or 30! Don't sleep on waltons plus it's not a chain! Ps this time I actually was craving a salad and ordered the chicken tender salad with fried chicken and it was huge!!! One of the best salad I have had in years! It's very very large me and 2 of my kids ate it and I had enough for left overs! U can get grilled chicken but comes with lettuce tomatoes bacon cheese and fried onion crisper on top! Worth those 9$$$!!!! read more

Walton's - Sign - Chicken Wings Near Me - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

One of my friends who's a local and frequented this establishment years ago raved about the food here. So, I thought "why not? I'll give it a try." August 18, 2023 was my first and LAST day ever eating here. I went early in the day, around 11a (close to opening) and I figured the food would be fresh. Service was ok. The first gentleman who interacted with me seemed reluctant to take my order. (I should've taken this as a sign to leave). Another gentleman came to take my order, and I ordered a grilled tender sandwich combo. I thought to myself "you can't mess up tenders." Boy was I wrong. Maybe about an hour after finishing my meal, I started feeling sharp stomach pains, along with other symptoms that fall under food poisoning (diarrhea, vomiting , nausea). After several trips to the bathroom until around 7p that same evening and an exorcist style cleansing of my system, I no longer felt nauseated, but the following day I continued feeling mild stomach pains and didn't eat much. I wouldn't wish this on anyone! Sad this was my experience on my first trip here. I only ordered a tender sandwich, not an exorcist colon cleansing! read more

I am new to the area and one of the guys at work recommended this place. When I came in it was clean, smells like great chicken, and the people were all having fun. I ordered the chicken tenders salad ad it is huge. Everything was so fresh and good. I will be back for sure. read more

Walton's - a plastic cup on a table - Chicken Wings Near Me - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Walton's has a large selection of fast food items: chicken fingers and wings, burgers and occasionally old country cooking. Their signature item is the chicken fingers (available both fried and grilled). Walton's is one the few drive-thru restaurants available in this part of town. My main problem with Walton's is that the chicken fingers have no flavor. Sure you get "special" sauce to dip your fingers in, as you do in other chicken finger restaurants. But the finger itself is devoid of any seasoning. I have to question whether they are even marinated. A second problem I have with Walton's is that they charge for water. read more

Ever since the new owners have begun running the restaurant service, attention to detail has drastically decreased. I almost loathe coming through the drive thru anymore. Four visits in two months and they still get the order wrong. It's amazing that I actually triple check now and still have to repeat myself multiple times in the speaker. This is fast food not physics. I get teenagers needing a job, but can we not instill work ethic and attention to detail over wings? My favorite incident went like this....."May I get a sweet tea?" Brings me a Fanta Orange. I have no idea what the disconnect is, but for the love of my children fix it. read more

This is my favorite place in Tuscaloosa. Been going here since it was Willy Ts. From my understanding ownership has changed. The last couple of times I've gone everything's been great. Only thing I would say to improve is if they were a little bit more on top of cleaning tables after people finished their meals inside. read more

I usually go to Walton's because the wings come out faster than American Deli's, but as of late, Walton's has gone down the drain for me. The wings are so small. The prices are high for 6 tiny pieces of chicken. The tea is never sweet, I actually had a bug in my tea from here one time. They're very stingy with the sauce. I ordered mild wings and they were skin bone dry. There was no flavor to it at all. If I were you I'd just take myself down to American Deli, the wings are a great size. The wing sauce is much better, and it's fresh. read more

Really good food just can't get an order right. Spent 40 dollars worth of food and got home and I was missing items and stuff was completely wrong. Called them to see if I could come pick up my my correct order and told me they i would have to return the wings that was given to me. Of course my party had already started eating some of them. So basically I was just s*** outta luck I guess. I probably won't be back read more

Chicken is flavorless, sauce is good. I do like their chicken tender salad. I'm not sure why I keep going there - service is always slow, and food is just not that good. And overpriced. I just waited 15 minutes in the drive thru and they didn't appear to be very busy. Just slow. read more

Visited here this evening for wings as I usually do on occasion, and with everything going on with Covid-19 I was appalled at something I witnessed. One of the young men who was an employee there was fixing a customer's plate with no gloves on and not to mention no mask, and proceeds to pick up an order of onion rings with his bare hands! I gotta say that this is a place that I visit frequently and definitely is not a bad place per se, but this incident really took me for a loop. I spoke up about it to a cashier and she said that she would let the manager know, so I hope she did. The bottom line is this is the sort of thing that has us in the position we are now with viruses and diseases. Lack of cleanliness and people not caring. read more

My first time eating from here was yesterday, had the food delivered to my house from Waitr. I would highly recommend eating from here again, the food was great, their "special sauce" is fantastic, couldn't get enough. The toast was great and the chicken was definitely better than zaxbys or Guthrie's! Will definitely be getting it again! read more

If you go through the drive-thru, make sure you check your bag before you drive off. The girls up front always forget to put cutlery kits with food that require a spoon and/or fork, and the extra sauces tend to get left out as well. It is pretty pricey for what you get--a grilled chicken salad will cost you the same as most of the much larger salads at nicer restaurants downtown (DePalmas and The Avenue Pub). Sometimes the grilled chicken tenders look more like grilled nuggets. Overall it's ok. read more

One of our favorite places, chicken tenders are good and juicy. My wife loves the grilled chicken tenders. The "special sauce" is awesome but comes in very small containers. This forces you to buy extra when they use to be free. Burgers are good but overall it's a little pricey. read more

I dont want to even give this place 1 star! Im so mad. One because this use to be my favorite place to eat. I miss it from being Willy Tee's! Im always missing something out of my plate. Like how hard is it to put all the stuff in the plate. DONT ORDER FRIED MUSHROOMS! They never be completely done! I just got home which is about 10 minutes away from Waltons and my food is COMPLETELY cold! Like it wants even a little warm. AND It tastes as if its days old. I called and complain and the so called manger said put in the refrigerator and bring it back oneday. If I wanted to eat my food another day I would have brought it another day. I WILL NEVER eat at this place again! !! Smh read more
