I had a very specific need and was glad to find this store open late. It does not have a gas station, which is notable as prices are high in the area and a little discounted gas would have been nice. The store inside is large by the standards of the area. I struggled to find the basic appliance I was looking for and eventually asked for help. I was led to the same aisle I had been looking at by an employee who was apparently as baffled as I was, but he pulled up something on his phone and figured it out and I got a decent selection and bought something. The store had ample self-checkout lanes. Online shopping has become more and more the norm, but sometimes you need something right now and the convenience of a store like this is appreciable, even if the selection is not what I would have found shopping online. read more

Digital coach Sierra does not represent this company well, I'm not from West Virginia. I'm simply on vacation visiting a friend. I'm from the west coast, I am not used to this Walmart obviously and I just needed help locating an item because the map wouldn't work and I couldn't find the isle. Sierra blatantly ignored me when I asked her for help, and I know she heard me because she turned around to look at me. Then as she's turning to continue to walk away one of what I'm assuming was her associates was coming out of the doors from the back with a picking cart and she was berating them! The poor girl looked ready to cry! I could care less at this point she didn't help me, but if this is how your managers treat their associates on the floor in front of customers god forbid how do you treat them behind closed doors. I hope that the store lead, store manager, and marketing managers give this woman the talking she deserves. I live in a city with over a million people and I've never been treated with such disregard as I was today in a small town. You should be ashamed of the people representing your store. read more

Yesterday I went to this Walmart to buy a brand new PS5 controller. I walked in, payed the $70 for the controller, and made my way back home. I got home, opened the box that the controller comes in, and found out that the controller I bought was covered in dirt and scratches. I went to Walmart today to return the controller or exchange for a different one and they said that they dont let people return/exchange electronics. So it leaves me to wonder how I could of bought a controller that was supposed to be new, but somehow appears to be used. Did they let somebody else return a controller, did an employee use this controller and then put it back on the shelf? The whole reason I even needed a new controller is because my old controller had drift (an issue that naturally occurs with all controllers due to just using the controller for a while). Id be fine with just keeping the controller but now I'm worried to even plug the controller in because it might already have drift (which defeats the whole purpose of me even buying a new controller), and if I do plug it in, I wont feel right going to Walmart again and trying to return it. read more

I am a life long Walmart shopper. I was in store 1477 this morning 3/27/21 around 9:00 am picking up thing for my sons birthday party cake, presents and a few groceries. I approached the check out isles to see none were open and the self checkout was. I ask an associate to contact the manger and see if they would open a lane since none were open. He said the manager (Jenni) said use the self check outs. Now mind you I had 3-4 hundred dollars of items in a very full cart. I am in capable of ringing everything up, because of a torn rotator cuff. Which is very painful. I let them know I would wait for them to open up a lane in a nice manner. After 15-20 mins no lanes were open and the store was not busy. I strolled to customer service to find 4 women in the back. I spoke directly to the manager (Jenni) & (Cassandra) they informed me my only option was self checkout. I ask why did they have checkout isles in the store then? Neither one could answer, so in turn I told them I would not use self checkout. Because I had so many items possibly 100 or more. If it would have been 20 items or less. If they would have had one lane open and 20 customers in it. I would have waited my turn patiently. But neither was possible. So buyer beware if you intend to shop at Summersville, WV #1477 Walmart be prepared to have no customer service. I'm sure some good people work there. this Walmart is friendly and stuff is always wasy to find. I would come here everytime I went to clay ans would always find a low price.
