There is something dreadfully wrong about this particular Walmart. I have been shopping in Walmart stores since 1993 and I haven't felt an overwhelming sense of depression from being inside one since I visited a Walmart in California 6 years ago. For one, there is too much going on at the registers. The self checkouts are inside these mini corals that isolate them from the other registers. This is a good idea in theory, not in practice. The bottleneck on the entrance and exit make it extremely difficult to get in and or of, especially if you are foolish enough to go in one with a cart. One register is at the front of the opening bottleneck and if someone had a cart parked there as they check out, guess what... you might be there a while. For two, there are NO GREETERS. I have never experienced this phenomenon in a Walmart. If you bring an item in from outside (like a soda or item to compare), you better RUN to customer service and be prepared to stand in line for 10 minutes (or more) just so you can get something that will keep the a-hole loss prevention guy from accusing you of stealing - which he WILL. You don't want to be tackled by his flying monkeys I've something as trivial as a candy bar. For three, 98% of the employees are unhappy, look depressed, are snotty, condescending, or just flat-out unhelpful/dismissive. I have never worked in a Walmart but I help more customers than they do in this store. An elderly customer was looking for a particular kind of sweet, one you can only find on the baking aisle. I watched as he pointed to the candy aisle, assuming she meant the REGULAR sweet, and said "It's down there!" Apparently, Walmart doesn't train their employees to CARE. This employee might have been busy putting up paper goods across the divide (10ft or less), but it wouldn't have taken five minutes to walk her to the item (wrong item or not). Customer courtesy must be something you're born with, IDK, but even though I was in a hurry and on my way out, I walked with her to the correct aisle and got her what she was looking for. For four, when I first moved to the area my first visit was miserable. It was 75 degrees outside and it felt like 90 inside. I asked a cashier, who had a tiny fan blowing in her, why it was so hot. She said management keeps it that way, that they're "cutting back". Is not fainting at work from the heat a luxury? You could have roasted a chicken in that store. Funny thing, the Walmart store in The Villages (a few miles down the road) is ALWAYS a comfortable temperature. For five, the loss prevention guy is a complete jerk. He is condescending, combative, argumentative, and sleazy. I and a few friends of mine have seen him, on occasion, gawking at female shoppers from the ladies department. He tried to grab my shoulder on my way out the store one afternoon. To this day I have no idea why. I didn't know who he was before that, but knowingal all these things makes me feel uncomfortable whenever I shop there (which is very infrequent. I'd sooner drive the extra few miles to go to The Villages than worry if Im going to be accosted by some sleaze ball.) I'm not ever returning to this store unless I'm desperate for something that cannot wait - I live a mile from the store. I don't like how I feel when I'm inside it. The unease is palpable. The only thing good about it is the location and the parking. read more

Looking for a particular item, asked a sales lady..... She did not even stop to look at me, said something and walked away. Another shopper told me, "Speak Spanish." Another sales lady, she gave me her cell phone to type in what I was looking for. At least she somewhat tried. Then check out, always frustrating..... Half of self check out scanners is not operational, red light. So many "assistant" managers socializing with their coworkers, but unwilling to assist customers. read more

I live 40 min from this store. I wanted to Check to make sure they had a product before Going there. I had the skew to make it simple. I called for 2 days and not once did anyone answer the Phone. I called at 6:15 am and still got the same bs recording...we are experiencing a high call volume please call back later. Really at 6:15 you are overwhelmed by calls. What poor customer service! I tried to call customer service in the Summerfield FL Walmart and it took 10 min. for some very rude guy to answer. I told him that I left my charge receipt in the Garden Center only 10 minutes ago and could he retrieve it for me. I wanted to pick it up at customer service desk at a later time. He told me to come back to the store and give my complaint to Customer service desk . What kind of customer service is that???? I recalled and asked for Customer service and the phone was never picked up. We shop here on a daily basis, but things have changed in the store, it is not what if used to be. NO STOCK ever. No one can help you if you ask where something is. No chairs or benches to catch your breath at. We are a majority of seniors. This is probably like spitting it the wind to complain. Today 08/08/2024 I went to recharge the AC at Walmart located at 17961 S Us Highway 441, Summerfield, FL and since my English is not perfect and there are very technical words that I do not know, the first person who helped me in English, despite being very kind, could not understand what I was saying, so he called a person who spoke Spanish named LUIS who very rudely told me that I had to speak good English because I was wasting their time and he was too dismissive and did not even give me the correct information. After I paid 115 dollars and tested the AC and realized that it was not cooling, I ask him again and he tells me no, that the car has an electrical fault, so why did he recharge it if he knew it was not going to work? Friday night May 19, 2023, 5:30 PM, and the store is almost empty. Wanted to buy a hair trimmer, but the case was locked. Only a manager could open it. Customer service seemed utterly unconcerned but I finally tracked down an employee who went out of her way to help me. She did everything she could to call, beg, plead for a manager to come...but nothing. This whole episode must have taken 20+ minutes, and finally I gave up and vowed to never set foot in there again. Bought what I needed in Target in less than 3 minutes. From reading other reviews, I don't know why they keep the bozos who make the big bucks"managing". What fools! If the store had been busy, I could have understood. But obviously there is no plan to sell any of the many things that are in locked cabinets when the manager is snoozing, playing video on his phone, or other wise goofing off. read more

Shit service. Placed an order for pick up. Was sub an item. Did not want item sub. Then when picked order. Item that sub was not even in the order picked up. I called to them the staff. I wanted refunded since I was not going to drive back wasting gas because of their fucking mistake. Next day got a message only being refunded 8 dollars less than billed. The girl at the pharmacy is so RUDE!! She gets extremely easily irritated with a simple question. Wish there were less stars than one!! I know it was very very busy in the pharmacy, but she should not be so rude to people who waited 30+ minutes in line. Wrong job for her!! If i could give zero stars I would. The customer service here is horrible. There were 10 people on line at customer service with only 1 cashier. Several employees came over to correct the way the line was but no one apologized for the wait or offered to help. the most common complaint from customers is where are the associates. I love customer service the best part of the job was serving customers but this is not Walmart number one goal. Is the bottom of the list. I was very excited about getting hired at Walmart. not only did I want to supplement my SSI. I enjoy interaction with other people. I went in with great enthusiasm. I was hired to work as a customer host 25 to 30 hours a week. During orientation I was told I might have to work a few more hours temporary. 1 to 10. Freight stocking and Zoning which means straightening out a lot of departments. My schedule. 5 days a week with split days off. A week later I asked at least put my days off together.answer:NO. Second week. I said at least cut my Hrs. .....hard to maintain full time. That position @ 71. I said when will I be a customer host part-time? We need you here right now because we have no Associates. Going into 5th Week, my sciatica was painful. My left hand which had previous nerve damage to thumb .end up having to wear a Brace. The bottom line is, I never became a customer host. working part-time. I had no choice but to quit. Walmart does not care about its employees, let alone the customers! I was a very loyal, dedicated employee. Apparently Walmart doesn't know that's slavery ended at the civil war. Unless you are desperate go somewhere else even if it means making a little money. it's taken 4 weeks for me to recover so I can work again. I am not a slacker. I'm a doer. Ever job doing my best! I didnt let Walmart down. They let me down.! One last thing, I've always loved every job. optimistic about any job I've ever had, this is not the employees fault. Definitely a zero star location. Staff is rude and can't be bothered to help. But more specifically, the liquor store wouldn't let us purchase our beer. Yes, I'm 34 and didn't have my ID, so it's nice they enforced their policy (though I was in earlier and purchased with no ID, so sticking with policy isn't the strong suit here). My husband returned later to purchase our 6-pack. Because I was in with him earlier today, they wouldn't let him purchase! Even though he went back alone! He asked "when CAN I come in without her to purchase" and the lethargic, backwoods, mental cashier, Mary, said "we can't. It's policy". If she spent more time looking presentable as a person as someone in the service industry should, perhaps she would have less time being petty just because she can. Mary is losing you business. Period. The manager, that my husband spoke to, mentioned we shouldn't purchase liquor at this store anyway. Wise words, I think. And we are spreading the news. read more

Worst employees and worst pharmists I have come across at any pharmacy in my 75 years of life! My doc sends scripts in more than once and they say"We never received them" Really??? They are purposely doing this because they are upset with me always being on their case! I am doing this for my disabled daughter and her pain is serious! They should be investigated Seriously! I understand good help is hard to find and I can't imagine what Wal-Mart pays their employees but there is just no way there should ever be 14 customers waiting in a refund line at the service desk at this store. There were three employees there but made like they were in charge and okay with making people wait. As one of them finished with her customer, she SLOWLY walked away to put some merchandise in a bin, all while looking at the long line of people waiting. The girl that waited on me had the purple hair dye she had no doubt applied the night before all over her forehead and the side of her face and she too acted like she was doing everyone a huge favor by just being there. The other girl had so many tattoos and the expression on her face made it a bit scary to approach when she yelled "Next customer"! I noticed during my 20 minute wait that someone who looked to be in charge of the registers and front end, walked over twice, looked at the long line of customers and just walked away instead of maybe notifying a store manager that an additional employee was needed at the service counter. Maybe if they started cross training their people to fill in where needed, these problems would go away or better yet, ask managers to fill in where needed if they expect their store to run smoother. Add this to the usual long lines at the checkouts it really makes you wonder how important it is to get people in the store. I did notice that the store isn't as dirty as it used to be but over all, this Wal-Mart is not a nice place to shop. read more
