This store seemed much larger than I expected and was very clean and well stocked - I came here looking for a throw pillow for my Mom but not just any throw pillow the criteria was it had to be functional verses decorative since she was wanting something small enough to support her head while reading in bed. I found a few at other retailers but everything I found was much to large and bulky, being this was for a specific application I needed to touch and feel it so shopping online wasn't going to work - what initially seemed to be a simple task was quickly turning into a scavenger hunt. I finally found exactly what she had requested and fortunately found a nice looking one because a perfectly sized pillow that was ugly as many throw pillows are wasn't going home with me. I chose the self-checkout register so I never interacted with any of the staff although there were plenty available on the floor as I shopped. Not that it mattered but what I thought would be an under $10 purchase quickly turned into nearly $30, but it does appear to be of decent quality and more importantly she loves it...

Market Basket is one of our favorites for smoked Tasso , jalapeño boudin and andouille smoked sausage. We learned that not all Market Baskets have the fresh boudin, sausage and Tasso but this one does. We also picked up 2 fried fish fillets from the hot food offerings to eat for lunch. They were crispy and good. We'll be back!

It's been decades since they opened their doors and Sonny's closed theirs in a community which has grown exponentially from a two light town on a two lane road when life was a little simpler. Back in the day you could come here and get a full weeks worth of groceries for under $40 and the butcher in the meat market knew you by your first name and would hand cut your steaks to order - I can't speak of the quality of the produce, seafood or meat counter now but the staff is still friendly and treats you like a neighbor. The shelves today were filled as they always were, showcasing lots of food options only found in Louisiana, their meat cases are still stocked by men and women in white coats busy taking care of generations of customers with a smile and a giant selection of boudin and sausages made onsite or other delicacies from fresh caught Gulf Shrimp, Locally Grown Louisiana Crawfish and every Cajun seasoning you can imagine. This store brings back lots of good hometown memories where customer service is of the utmost importance and the quality of their products are guaranteed. They now have legit competitor from another grocer in town with a larger store that is fresh and modern but this location seems to still have a loyal following although the parking lot doesn't always reflect this with its faded parking space stripes, and deteriorating asphalt but their still here which speaks of its resilience so I'll continue to show up when I'm in the area...
