What a vile organization. Now we check ourselves out. They save the money on staff but we don't get the checker's pay nor do we get a discount for checking ourselves out and saving Walmart overhead. I hope someday a store rises up from the ashes and ends the disease of Walmart. read more

This Walmart reminds me of a zoo for some reason idk what it is but extremely chaotic. Every time I come here the other side is closed(apparently a new practice of there's. I end up having to walk to the other side and apparently if you come 10 minutes before closing you enter through the exit doors then met with workers telling you to leave(which I ignore and continue shopping). For some reason the leave pallets with falling boxes everywhere and can barely get around to the other side which makes matters worse because the whole layout is already pretty disorganized already.I really miss when this place was 24/7 read more

If you are traveling on highway 50 in an RV, DO NOT pull off the road to go into their parking lot. There are low clearance bars, and you will not make it. Apparently, they do not want any business for people traveling in RVs. We have NEVER EVER encountered a Walmart that was restrictive to RV travelers trying to shop for more supplies. Unfortunately, instead of shopping there, we now have to replace our AC unit that hit the low clearance bar. Also, you DON'T KNOW there are low clearance bars until you pull off Hwy 50 and there is NO PLACE to go! read more

I have never been and will never be a fan of Walmart, but I was here today as the chauffeur for someone else who needed to go, so I decided to go inside with her instead of waiting in the car. I thought there might be some Christmas clearance...if there was, I don't know where it was in the store (I didn't look around that much). There was some stuff on clearance up by optical. It was marked with weird stickers so it took me awhile to figure out that 0300 meant the price was $3. At least the prices were marked on most of the stuff, but even at the clearance prices it wasn't good enough to get me to buy it. Some aisles were blocked with carts of boxes, which I find annoying. read more

The Sedalia Walmart has undergone a transformation in store design with a check out system that is horrible. At best, there is one or zero checker-assisted lane(s) open for customers who don't want to use self checkout, and the line for that is ridiculously long. Their strategy is to force you into self checkout through something that resembles a sweep pen for cattle, and customers checking themselves out is such a slow process that it's often full; you'll still stand in line for that as well. Worse still, self checkout is divided into two areas - one area where machines have only a tiny space to set a few items, (fine if you're only buying a few items), and another area with much larger counters for customers with full carts. In my last two trips, the area with larger counters has been closed, forcing me to scan an item, bag it, and return it to my already packed cart, moving items around in the cart as I go. (Ridiculous!) To make matters worse, the scanner and bagging decks are very low. Between bending over and twisting back and forth to unload the cart, scan, bag and then replace items in the cart, I developed mild back pain - a testament to how horribly thought out the ergonomics of their self checkout is. The next exasperating issue are items that won't scan or have lost their tags. I waited nearly 10 minutes for the person in the checkout area to call another customer service person who then had to travel to the back of the store and return with the price. I was through roughly two-thirds of the cart when this happened a second time. I gave up. I'd already spent over an hour and a half shopping, had packed my cart with several hundred dollars worth of groceries and miscellaneous from a long, long list. By now, the ice cream was melted, meats had warmed, and I had a backache. I thanked the person in the checkout area for their assistance to that point, (this idiotic system isn't their fault), asked them to clear the machine and walked out empty handed. My only satisfaction with the experience is knowing that rather than improve their profit margin by me suffering through their new self checkout scheme, they killed the sale, lost a customer, and will have to pay an employee for their time to unload that heaping cart back onto shelves in every row and corner of the store. read more

I was in this store at 9:00a.m. and there were only 2 check out clerks with 4-5 customers with full shopping carts!!! Really WalMart??? You cannot afford to pay more cashiers to check people out?? We are forced to go to self check outs which really irritates me!!! Your cashiers are TRAINED to check people out!!! I am NOT!! I come to your store to spend my money and I am put to work by checking myself out. Will I have to stock the shelves and clean the place too in the future?? I seriously do not like going to this place, and I feel lucky to have made it though the parking lot alive. Everyone thinks they have the right of way, and you are simply a bump in the road. My brother and his girlfriend showed her there ID's and said that would pay but she would not let them becus there are to many camras around. when one week earlier I got the same glue and that cashear let me get it becus I was talking to an older person in the line. This Walmart is fairly clean from what I'm used to, being from Florida, but there are always employees stocking shelves, blocking the isles, which is inconvenient when it comes to the isle where you need something! But hey, people have to do their jobs! Their auto motive area is extremely helpful, and she was able to special order the tires we needed, that even the local tire shops wouldn't do! They even matched the price, if not lowered it from what I got quoted elsewhere! Their fishing selection is great, their gun (guns, knives, ammo, wraps, snakes, everything) selection is really good! They have everything you need here. Overall really good to shop! Downside: The parking lot! Total death trap, no matter how good of a driver you are! Seems like every one forgets how to drive when you go to Walmart, coming from Florida, where it's illegal to drive across the actual parking spots, to get to the other side of the parking lot, or even driving across the lanes is illegal, here it's do whatever you want! It's like drive roulette every time I come here! I've almost gotten hit a couple of times, and a giant lifted truck isn't hard to miss! All I have to say is if you're coming here, be careful in this parking lot!! read more

The store is VERY outdated and needs a facelift. The layout of the store doesn't make much sense.

I visit this Wal-Mart every time I am in Missouri visiting family. As far as Wal-Mart's go it is just okay. The selection of goods in the store is similar to any other location, but there are several factors that work against a better rating. First, the parking lot is a death trap. There is no control of traffic within the lot and people drive across parking rows at high rates of speed. Second, the bathrooms are outdated and always dirty. Not gross dirty, just dirty enough to make you wish you could hold it a little longer. Third, this location has consistently slow checkers and the lines regularly back up. Finally, the layout in this location is just different enough from other locations to require wandering through most of the store to find anything. read more

I'm in this store 4 times a week and have been for the past 20 years and I keep finding empty shelves in the grocery department all the time. LATELY Wheaties i.e. only has two slot for boxes and has been out of product several times. Produce section doesn't look fresh. Ordering seem to be a huge problem at least from a consumers point of view. Regular Morton salt could not be found anywhere. Other area Walmart stores have a much CLEANER and FRESHER appearance and this as always been the case. Maybe have a field trip for your produce people to see how other stores are doing this. read more
