As I'm driving across Montana, I remembered that I need to send a birthday card and I don't have one with me in the Sprinter van. A quick stop here and now I have a birthday card and I also picked up another pair of jeans. The weather has changed ahead of me and I'm needing more warm pants for the journey. The store is decently laid out and stocked unlike some other Walmarts I have been to lately. Plenty of options to choose from in the greeting cards and they actually had TWO pairs of jeans in the size I need and the color I want. Self-checkout worked fine and I did not need assistance today. For a Walmart, I highly recommend this one in ilex City, MT! Clean, uncluttered, spacious, organized and with plenty of helpful staff. I use a wheelchair for mobility so this very accessible Walmart made an impression on me. After the extreme overwhelming experiences of Walmarts near the MT/WY border, it's almost enough to make me drive up for a night every month to enjoy shopping! read more

Big, clean, nicely stocked store with everything you could possibly need. I'm traveling through, but needed an electronic replacement, exercise gear & clothing, some canned food & fresh food & a few toiletries. Found them all, quickly & easily. Big bonus is there were lots of employees, stocking & at the registers, so although the store was full, the lines moved fairly quickly & the isles are wider than in a lot of stores, so I wasn't back to back with other shoppers. Nice store for food if you're visiting a local hotel & just want to grab & go, like me. I'll probably hit them up again in the morning, before I get on the road... for some healthy snacks & pull tab tuna cans... great for long car rides. Solid 5* out of 5. read more

Why are the shelves always empty and constantly a giant line? Produce always looks bad no matter what time of year. It's sad when the self checkout line is faster then your own employees on the registers. I have literally had an employee fall asleep while ringing me up at the register lol not even joking. I know that we live in rural Montana, but people of Miles City and Eastern Montana really need to step up and complain about the horrible service we get from the Miles City Walmart. I have shopped at many different Walmart's in multiple states, and it's just ridiculous that they run their business this was. Employees are simply lazy and rude. It has taken me upwards of 45 minutes on multiple occasions to get an employee to do their basic job. Need a locked cabinet open to purchase something... good luck. You will get 3 employees that stare and grunt ( not exaggerating, I was questioning his species and whether or not he spoke English), 2 that tell you they can't help (and they aren't finding someone who can), and the 1 that wants to help, but their shift is over. Need paint mixed, nope. They told me nobody in the store knew how on a busy Sunday and to come back tomorrow. They have 1 cashier open, but that is always someone who is so slow it's not worth it, and self check out with 3 lanes out of order. This is regardless of the time, be it the Sunday rush or 11pm on a Tuesday. The management just doesn't care. They are worse than the employees. Things go unstocked for weeks, and I know it's not availability. Their excuse is always no staff. Well if they gave a crap maybe people wouldn't rotate through so fast. They just know they have everybody under the gun because they have no other option. Well I'm doing all my shopping somewhere else if at all possible, and I urge others to do the same. I'm an RV traveler and I use Walmarts all the time. This one is the worst I've ever experienced. The store was a mess, boxes everywhere, I've never seen so many empty shelves in my life! Did not carry many brands, disorganized! I hope this was an isolated date, because I do not recommend this store at all. Very frustrating now that I have to go to another store to finish shopping. read more
