I rarely go to a Walmart but needed to pick up some tea and milk before heading home and this was in eyesight. Parking is a mess. The store is drab and depressing. The aisles are surprisingly narrow and good luck getting people to not take up the entire aisle. The prices are no better than Lowes or Harris Teeter and they lack selection. I won't enter again. read more

Well folks, what did you expect? To save a few cents, we all went to Walmart and here we have the invariable result. The Chinese Outlet store called Walmart. And now you see that once the competition has been wiped out, the prices will start creeping up. No need to keep the stores cleaned or to pay higher wages to their employees. If you don't like it, shop somewhere else. But since Walmart and other stores like them have driven down wages, they know that you'll be back. read more

They have a nice selection of t-shirts and I recently bought one that just says "kayak" and has a graphic of the state of NC. Very soft, nice burgundy color. They have a lot of seasonal decorations (always very inexpensive) and a lot of little home decor/gift ideas like glasses or blocks with cute sayings, cute pictures frames, etc. It's not a huge selection but good. A lot of their stuff has kind of a rustic, country, cabin-y kind of flair. They also have metal garden art that I think is probably made locally. Hard to describe, the best I can do is to say that they are artistic renderings of small creatures made out of metal rods.

I travel frequently to North Carolina to visit my mother and siblings and always visit the nearest…read moreFood Lion, since for some reason it is my sister's favorite store. [As now, it never will be mine] ~ We visited this Food Lion on Saturday, November 12, 2022, in Rural Hall, NC, my husband, my sister and I experienced a lack of customer service and professionalism from one employee. We were very disappointed with the lack of care for a mistake that was in Food Lion's hands, and we were simply trying to get the price right as seen on the shelf, we were hurried and treated as though we were wrong for wanting to double-check and reassure them that we were not making up the price that we had seen. The lady decided to price the items over what we told her we saw the items priced on the shelf. ~ Unfortunately, the lady we spoke to, found it very odd that we wanted to hold the store accountable for the price shown on the shelf and no one from the staff took a minute to go and check out the prices that the items were priced on the shelf, my husband even went to the items and took a picture of the label prices and showed her the correct price and she just stated that since we already paid she couldn't fixed the correct price. * She even spoke in a derogatory way to my sister and it was completely inappropriate and unprofessional, she made my sister feel very uncomfortable and sad. At the end we went to customer service window and waited until a young gentleman came and refunded us the over charge for the items... What a customer service experience we had!!

The new owners completely gutted the interior and refurbished it, while giving the exterior a much needed coat of paint and facelift. The new owners are Hispanic and the items they carry are geared a bit more to that culture. The convenience store has good selection of beer, wine, and sodas. Most importantly for me, they now carry glass bottle Mexican Coke made with real sugar!! They also have Mexican Fanta in a bottle and a variety of Jarritos Mexican sodas. They have big variety of candy, snack foods and chips. And much to my chilehead delight, a bunch spicy Mexican snacks that I usually only see at Super G or a tienda. Prices seem a bit higher than most local stores that sell similar items though, but hey, it's a convenience store so you're paying for convenience yeh? Another great feature is their selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. I have picked up a fresh mango and blue berries here. Most items are geared toward the Hispanic market. They also stock a lot of staple items on their shelves which is geared toward Hispanic cooking as well. Very nice when I run out tortillas and dont feel like driving into town. They also sell lottery tickets but not scratchers. There are vapes and smokes up front if you need your nicotine fix. The girl that works there the majority of days is super nice and polite. I just wish she would stop calling me sir, makes me feel as old as my knees tell me I am instead of how old my mind thinks I am.
