Walmart is known for being a one-stop-shop store, but this one stands out from the other locations for me because of the following: 1. Despite it's distance from a major city center, the are never out of stock 2. The vegetables and fruits are always fresh 3. The proximity to the Watkins Glen racetrack - Walmart locations are usually not a five minute drive to large entertainment venues 4. The friendliest, most helpful, most available Walmart staff ever! Don't know if it's the excitement of the Nascar weekend, but there is always staff on hand who are ready and able to assist. Never had to "go looking" for anyone. Year after year, groceries for the meat eaters, the vegans, the vegetarians, and everyone in between was never an issue. Forgot pillows, towels, need extra blow up beds, slippers, a toothbrush, whatever the need Walmart has us covered. See you next year!!

I told the employee who was monitoring the area and she got Roxanne, the floor manager of the day. Roxanne said that this was my problem and I'd have to call Walmart Tech Support. What the hell? My problem. Then she told me that I had not paid for the $35 bag of dog food and to pay again, which I did. I got to my truck and called my credit card company. They confirmed that I had paid twice. I went back in the store with the credit card agent on the phone. I found Roxanne and told her she could speak with them to confirm that I had paid twice. She declined and took off running across the store, back to the service desk. I followed her and told her that I would dispute the charges. She then said that she'd give my $35 back via a refund. When I called to speak with the manager to report what had happened Roxanne got on the line and pretended to be her own manager. What?! I hung up on her and called again. This time I got someone above Roxanne who said that she would be pulled into an office for a retraining meeting today. The manager was apologetic and seemed aghast by what i relayed to him. I have shopped at this store in Watkins Glen for 15 years and have never had a problem. This was bad. This Roxanne person needs to be retrained or fired. All of this was unnecessary. That's what I get for telling an employee that their machine wasn't working and was sending electronic receipts to the worng customer. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth!!

Wegmans. What's not to love?…read more Walked in before 7am and this place was already COOKIN. Bakery? On point. Local stuff? Plenty. Staff? Friendly, awake, and somehow happier than I was. They're out here rolling sushi, frying chicken, and making sandwiches like it's midday... meanwhile I'm still negotiating with my coffee. I went there a few days ago to do a bottle redemption; I had a bag full of 7 bottles, but only one bottle was accepted. The rest were rejected. And all the bottles I tried putting in the machines were brands carried by Wegmans (Brisk, Vitamin Water, Snapple, etc), plus they had 5¢ deposits marked on them. I tried feeding them into the machines, but I kept repeatedly getting error messages from the machines. Customer service did squat for me except give me 5¢ for the one bottle that was accepted. Come here for groceries, but go elsewhere for bottle redemption.
