They embarrassed me and my mother for about 40 minutes, accusing us of stealing and shouting multiple things at us and had 4 employees, including team lead, AP, self checkout and coach manager. Like how embarrassing and rude can you be. This is why Walmart has so many winning lawsuits against them for things like this, because the associates there think they're a goddess and everyone but them are criminals. Decent Walmart. I haven't had much experience with customer service at this location but I always go here for great low prices on groceries. Great prices and perfect for running errands and grabbing a few household and toiletries items as well. One complaint is that they are usually pretty low on fresh fruits, especially in the winter, so that's pretty disappointing. The strawberries sometimes have mold when I check on the last three containers of them. C'mon now... I love the ample amounts of self checkouts. I never have to wait to checkout on weekday nights - super convenient!! read more

I'm in the line of Fire Prevention. My husband and I stopped after work at this Walmart in Mankato MN. Used self check out. Bought a few grad gifts, and staples, and huge bag of dog food. Spent $102 on one transaction, $33.20 on a separate transaction. We were walking out and right before we made it to the exit door walking casually out, a lady with that Walmart smock came out of no where, came toward us and said "excuse me can I see your receipt?". I handed her 2 receipts and she pulled out a hand-held magnifying glass and stated looking at my receipt. We stood patiently as she said"ah, there it is!" ‍ She handed the receipt back and said thank you have a good night. I looked back as I walked out because I was curious to see if she was going to ask the lady behind me with a bigger cart of things she purchased, for her receipt. I was surprised she just let the lady with the filled cart walk on by. I normally don't like to pull out the I'm a minority's card, but I really can't help but only assume that. As we approached our vehicle and my husband stated to load items we purchased, I looked to see how many people went through the door with carts of items they purchase to see how many would be asked to have their receipt looked at- zero. Zilch. Nada. I'm not sure what to think of this situation, but I must reprimand Walmart for singling out this lady who just happens to be of Mexican descent. On another note, Store was a bit on the dirty side, isles filled with product and garbage (saw 2 cups on isle shelving) and I did notice that check out stations had no garbage cans. A few check out stations were slaps inoperable for whatever reason. ~if your going to do it to one, do it to all~ I rated them poorly due to my experience. But there's room to improve. read more

My husband and I were walking out of the Walmart and had bought an insane amount of items, totaling about $350. This lady doesn't even bat an eye when we walk out the store. But I overhear her stopping two Black young ladies asking for their receipt behind us. I turn around and notice they only have about 5 items. She then takes out a magnifying glass to see if they had all the items. I'm REPORTING her to corporate because it's unacceptable and it needs to stop. We came to this Walmart to go grocery shopping. When we went to check out there was a line of about 20 people in front of us. They didn't have even one register open and half of the self check outs were not working. I won't ever be grocery shopping here again because of absolutely terrible management. The Mankato, MN location has been very bad at re-stocking shelves in most of the aisles in the grocery section, by late afternoon, shelves are nearly half empty already! I have tried to go there at different times of the day and different times of the week, hoping to see if the items i get has been restocked, but either there is maybe a small amount of items left and or items i usually get, are completely gone! Some haven't been on the shelves in over 4 months! i've asked employees to check if there is another supply in the back, but they take off and avoid me! What is going on? Is our location going out of business? Are they having a massive amount of shipping errors? Something strange is going on over there, and the workers are very quiet about it. read more

Words can't describe how much I hate this Walmart. This place serves a pretty large community, so it's always crowded no matter what time you go. Now, in an effort to avoid the crowds, I made an effort to go in the early mornings on Sundays or Mondays, which definitely helped avoid the crowds, but meant the selection of fresh produce was lackluster. I'd get there usually around 8:00am, and find the ailes filled with boxes of food, yet hardly anyone was stocking the fresh produce. Why? I hate feeling like I'm buying old veggies that have been there since the day before, but it's the only time that worked for me and worked to avoid the crowds. Avoiding the crowds wasn't just because I hate people, it's because the lines here are ridiculous. Maybe 1/4 of the cash registers available were open, and that's if you were lucky. You think your Walmart is bad to begin with, I challenge you to shop here. read more

Mankato Walmart is the worst Walmart store in Minnesota. Prices are good but it doesn't help if the shelves are half empty. Today I needed brown sugar and found one bag on the shelves. Lucky day. I grew up here in Albert Lea. And I have shopped at this Walmart since the day it opened. And I have an terrible service for years. I went to the sporting goods and no one was working the area. (And that's pretty typical). And a man was taking out the trash asked if I needed assistance. I told him I would love some help. I said "yes, that would be wonderful". He proceeded to call someone to sporting goods. So I'm now waiting almost 15 min. 15 MIN! And I gave up and left. I don't care how good your deals on ammunition are. If I can't get someone to walk over and open the case. Your NOT getting my business. From now on if I can't pull it off the shelf and go to the self checkout. I'm not going to give you my money. I guess Dunham's will receive all my future sporting goods purchases from here on out. Do yourself a favor and drive out to Dunham's and give them your business. Since the current manager took over, service is terrible. Long lines and short staffed during the busiest times of the day. If you try to return merchandise, this manager has such a poor attitude, she won't help you, and in fact, lied to me about Walmart's return policy. read more

What can I say, it's a walmart. Some staff are friendly others will completely ignore you so they can have as little as work as possible. It's mostly easy to get through the store and find what you want, but some of the orgaization is a little confusing and they tend to move stuff around a lot. but if you're looking for amazing you might want to go to another store as most walmarts are just average. read more

Oh boy! Where do I even start with this store? I went in on Sunday of last week and checked out the televisions as we wanted to purchase one for our home. Mind you it was quite a bit of money as it was a 65" and what we found was a LG flat screen and the guy told us that we would be able to order online also to save money and do the pickup in store today option being that we live over an hour away from the store. He also mentioned that Walmart.com's pricing and the store would match each other being that it was the same thing. So with that in mind I started looking at the store's website and found it for a lot cheaper than it was in store and I even had a $15 off coupon from Walmart to use only online but decided to drive down to the Mankato location and get the tv as when I checked the website it said they had them in stock and could pick up today. Boy was I fooled! Arrived to the store, after driving quite some distance after a long day at work and this young kid and young lady were working back in the electronics. I told them I wanted to purchase the tv and showed them that the website had it for cheaper and that is the price that I was told they would match it as it was $734.00 without taxes and was $898.00 in store. Now I didn't even care that I wasn't going to use my coupon for the tv but they said they didn't have them as they weren't up front. They went to go look in the back and here as a customer I am getting frustrated as I wait and wait as they cannot find it . They finally scan the tv code on their handheld and said hey we have two here but we don't know where they are so they are looking for them and again I am waiting. Then the young kid goes and gets an assistant manager who went in the back with them and couldn't find it and he was explaining that they should be there somewhere. I told them that I would drive to another store as that is the tv I wanted but I wanted some kind of reimbursement for my gas and time as it has been almost a half hour if not more. I had some additional items in my hand to purchase as I was going to purchase them all together. So I went ahead and purchased them thinking that it was going to be done soon. No! I told them to call the neighboring store and see if they actually have them before I would drive all the way over and waste my gas and run into the same situation. Before long, the assistance manager was on hold with the store and there was about five to six employees standing around and trying to "find these tvs" but the thing was is that another manager I believe she was said they hadn't had a truck delivery in over four days. But that there website is wrong in saying they had some in there store. False advertisement in my opinion, and to top it off the pricing on their website they cannot match in stores as they do not do that on tv's so they couldn't give me the price off of their own website at their store if they even did have any or at their neighboring store because tv's aren't comp they said and don't fall within the match the price. I wasted my time and was jerked around by false advertisement and I told them I would take my business elsewhere! I certainly did for sure as I walked out went to Best Buy instead, which I should of done in the first place bought the same tv as they had it listed for $799.00 on sale and they gave me Walmart.com's price online when I showed them took me 10 min in the store. Talk about never going back to make a purchase as such from there again! One happy in the end customer by getting my tv elsewhere in a customer friendly atmosphere but disappointed that I was treated like that at the Walmart store. read more

I am completely disapoointed in this walmart. I refuse to shop there ever again. My family would do our weekly shopping there for years because I was to cheap to go anywhere else. However, after an incindent that happened a couple weeks ago, I had had enough. I was literally in line for half an hour. The sales clerk kept talking to her co-worker and would stop ringing out my items. By the time i got home all of the frozen items I had purchased were melted. Also, they would not give me any deli-meat because they had closed early due to short staffing. Recently, I have started shopping at HyVee and don't know why I wasted my time at Walmart. The service was completely different. Everyone seemed happy, they gave my children extra attention and even a lolipop for the ride home. ( which is usually riddled with annoyed tears.)
