This is a Walmart. We all know what to expect at a Walmart. The one thing this great about Walmart in a town where most things close at 10pm is that it is 24 hours. When you're craving a slice of pizza but can't get anything fresh walmart will always be able to deliver a frozen pie. We stopped in and quickly grabbed a "fresh" pizza and get home. The Walmart brand pizza had generally really good toppings but the crust was lacking. While we were inside the team was actively restocking shelves but from the look of some of the aisles it was like a tornado came through. No break and bake cookies that night. read more

Walmart will gladly take your money anytime but flat out refuses to take returns. My wife and I drove 20 minutes to Walmart to return an item Friday night. We walked in 10 minutes after 8 to return an item. Unbeknownst to us, they stop customer service at 8pm. The lights were off and no one would help us. One lady did try to find a manager but then another lady came up and flat out told us sorry, come back tomorrow at 7am. Insane that Walmart would be open for business but refuse to serve all customers needs. We never really go to Walmart but this is just another example of why I will avoid this place. The customer should be 1st. I don't even want to go in to return this item but I want my money back. I definitely won't be returning to this Lakeland location. read more

I don't need to be harassment over this. Wal-Mart needs to do away with self-service if they don't trust consumers. Hire back cashiers. This store is bad news. Chronically, understaffed and understocked. Every time I go in there early in the morning, the shelves are half empty and produce section is lacking anything fresh. Mind you this is around 8 AM, so they should've restocked by this time. Apparently when the store closes at 10 PM or thereabouts, the staff must just vacate the premises, and not bother restocking anything. In addition, I am expected to check out on my own because they have one lone cashier and eight or nine empty cash registers just sitting there. And what should happen if you get an item with a barcode that's torn or unreadable? Well, I guess that's just your tough luck, because one day that happened to me and I showed the person standing near the self checkouts, she took one look at it, and threw it in a bin to be returned. Did not offer to let me go get another or for someone to go get one for me. This is why I switched mainly to Amazon. read more

This is by far the worst Walmart I've ever been in. The best hope Walmart corporate could have for salvaging this crap hole is to gut it and turn it into a manure factory. The staff is utterly miserable unless you're considering the moron stock people drag racing the handicap electric buggies. That was on a different occasion however, one of many I have written off. On this lovely date I was attempting to return an item at 7:50pm to customer service which closes at 8:00pm and found all of the lights off. There was what appeared to be a "team lead" (what a joke, if this is leadership Walmart is done for) in the form of a rather robust latina female who informed me they were closed and to come back tomorrow. I asked what TIME they closed and she repeated "we are closed". I asked again WHAT TIME does customer service close to which she blatantly lied and said 7:45pm. Needless to say I left the store and called corporate customer service. I guess we'll see how that goes but I was planning to exchange this item. Now I'm returning and buying on Amazon and I'll never be back. I also decided to pay for two Amazon Prime memberships for a year for two friends or family members so they don't have to come here again either. Good job Walmart! Seriously, what is wrong with this Walmart? We've had horrible experiences trying to shop there! Is it Management & lack of training or accountability??!! We tried to do a pick-up order for some groceries & some other items, ...we checked-in, waited, watched people come & go. Almost 30 min goes by ....we called the # on the Pick-up sign & it just goes to voicemail (mailbox full). Then called the main store# ....nobody answers there either. So then someone finally comes over & checks us in again..... still nothing .....30 more min goes by & somebody else comes to check us in for the 3rd time!! And then this girl starts freaking out....literally hitting her iPad, saying it wasn't responding?? So finally after waiting over 90 minutes....we finally get the groceries & other items brought to the car. Ridiculous! So then....we try to order photo Christmas cards to pick up... My husband goes to pick the order up....and came back home. No envelopes included.... so back to the store to get the envelopes... it took 3 different people to find the envelopes....everyone was getting irritated that they even had to look for envelopes. So one guy looks up our order, counts out envelopes & then hands then to my husband. We thought the guy had counted the "correct" number of envelopes (since he looked up the order).... but no....my husband gets home & we start stuffing the photo cards into envelopes...and we were shorted by 30 envelopes!!... So now BACK to this store again....for More envelopes. WHY Is it SO HARD to get the order right?? to be competent enough to count, or competent enough to simply DO YOUR JOB!!??! IF you don't want to work, then quit, and stay home! But keep your foul attitudes away from the store. Get a job that you like doing, so you don't have to take it out on the customers. And to Management... Please hire people that can count, and that want to be efficient...and if you can't find people like that....then GET THEM THE RIGHT TRAINING so they can do a decent job! This is beyond ridiculous & absolutely NO excuse!! I've never experienced anything like this before at any other Walmart. Horrible Customer Service!! read more

Upon exiting the store my friend was approached just outside the doors and told to leave the property. I witnessed the entire incident. When asked why because in all actuality I thought this must be a joke, I was told that he had to leave because he had asked one of the girls inside where she stayed. In my astonishment, I questioned the validity of her statement and was told the police would be called if he did not leave immediately. How is this worthy of being told to leave at risk of police involvement even if indeed he had asked anyone who worked there where they live? No evidence or testimony was presented and we are left to wonder if we can safely shop at this location again without harassment or threat. Weird! read more

This Walmart is absolutely awful! The store is dirty and the workers are so extremely unfriendly. I was waiting outside of the store to get picked up by an Uber and a Walmart worker approached me and told me she was on the phone with the police and if I didn't leave she would have them arrest me just for standing outside on one of the medians in the parking lot! There are two Walmarts in Lakeland proper: a super duper center on the north side of town (on this very road, actually), and the regular ol' super center here on the south side. This is everything you expect in a Walmart supercenter: a full grocery store on one side and a full department store on the other. The grocery side is a little smaller than the average Walmart, though. That being said, there's still a pretty nice selection; the aisles are fairly wide; and you can find pretty much anything here you'd get at a Publix. I like that the supermarket is on the RIGHT side, too (for some reason it annoys me when the groceries are on the left and the department store wares are on the right). Every time I come here it's pretty well packed, though parking is actually pretty convenient. I usually enter and exit off Imperial Ave (I recommend taking this route if trying to make a left onto S. Florida Ave.). They do a pretty good job of keeping the parking lot clean of trash and carts. The store inside is always pretty clean; one of the cleaner Walmarts I can recall. This location doesn't have as many amenities as other Walmarts: there's a bank, a pharmacy and an eye glasses store. No auto center, though there is a decent garden section. No liquor store, either. My favorite thing about this Walmart? A huge, wide-open, self-checkout area. read more

I was looking for an item and asked a Walmart employee, who was wearing a Walmart uniform for assistance and she told me she didn't work there, although she had on the uniform. The second person I asked told me that she did not speak any English. I asked the manager about it and she said all employees speak English. Clearly these two employees were lying to me. Clean, basic Walmart on South Florida Avenue in South Lakeland. They had what I needed and prices were ok. No interacting with employees as I found items on my own and self-checked. This was the first time ever in the history of Wal-Mart that an associate approach me and asked me if I needed help. She could probably tell I was lost because this Wal-Mart's floor plan was a little different than the one on the other side of Lakeland. She walked me over to the aisle I needed, called me "Baby," and made me feel taken care of. Despite having to wear a Wal-Mart vest as part of her uniform, she maintained her appearance. Hair was well groomed, and her make-up was done. You could tell she really took pride in herself. I really wish I got her name. She was a stock clerk and wore glasses. I hope however manages social media for Wal-Mart finds her and shows this to her. read more

This walmarts customer service is awful. I went to get a pool there I found online. It said this walmart had it. I got there and asked and the manager didn't even look and said no we're out of pools. She was so ride. As I was leaving I ran into an older gentleman and saw he had the device to look up products. I gave him the pool code and he said they had it. He went to the back and got it. Thanks for him. He did great. Unfortunately there are other lazy employees there. read more

We had another wonderful Walmart experience today. We purchased a flashlight with the price clearly marked on the tab; however, when we went to pay, the product's price jumped by 20%. I, of course, spoke up and pointed this out to the cashier who brought it to the attention of a supervisor. After waiting about 10 minutes, we learned that the wrong flashlight was in the slot reserved for a less expensive item. Yes, I have Walmart's Corporate HQ on Speed Dial. I was just about to make the call when a supervisor was grateful enough to give me the benefit of the doubt. Kudos for her. But the fact remains, this is an old story. Everyone I know who has shopped at Walmart tells a similar story. The bottom line is that we shop at Walmart less and less. Yes, we spend a little more money at Target but we almost never have the same problem. At some point, the chickens will come home to roost and Walmart will go the way of Sears and K-Mart. The only reason I patronize this Walmart store is that it's the closest to me. It's like an 8th of a mile away from my apartment, and also that all the Hott college students shop at this particular store as well ... Heh Heh, sorry. Anyway, this particular store is the suckiest Walmart in Polk County !!! Yesterday at noon at the garden checkout, I had to wait almost 20 minutes in line just to to get to the cashier. Here it is a Saturday at noon time and they only have one cashier in the garden center, as usual. This happens alot at the garden center for some reason. Also, this store does not have several items that I need. I have to drive to the Mulberry Walmart to get the items I need that the South Florida Avenue store does not have. As for the pharmacy, almost every time I go to fill a script there I have problems and it's usually the pharmacie's fault !!!! Please, the management needs to deal with this !!!!!! read more

You can't run away fast enough from this pharmacy. They call and tell you your Rx is ready when it isn't. They have no idea what they need to order - the pharmacist cancelled the order for my mother's drugs two days in a row for no reason anyone could explain. They're completely disorganized. I have shopped at this Wal Mart regularly because I live close by, but I cant stand it anymore. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been there it's the same thing, 2 or 3 of the 25 registers open ( 1 or 2 of those are 20 items or less ), lazy employees ( a few exceptions), AND THEY ARE OUT OF EVERYTHING EVERYDAY AFTER 5 OR SO.
