There was a lot going on at this Walmart. Came with a friend for an auto appointment. Typical Walmart, in that they have most items any other location would. I don't know much about the upkeep of this location, tons of construction in the area too. Not a Walmart issue, but it's soooo congested and chaotic over there. As usual, I go straight to books, writing tools, journals/notebooks, and planners because that's what I love. They have a nice collection. This place is a full-service Walmart which is excellent. However, it seems that the customer service department needs to retake a course on customer service and professionalism. The workers play with each other and take their time in wrapping up refund requests and handling customer concerns. While standing in line got some 15 minutes, the supervisor ( who I was waiting for) showed up and offered gum to his coworker. The kicker was that he was offering the gum from his mouth to his co-worker to which she responded "I only eat from my baby". *What alternate universe am I in?! Why is this okay?!* Whilst this may have been a "joke" between them, the patrons of this Walmart did not need to be privy to this exchange. I've never been particularly impressed with this place because of the customer service, but it is close to my job which makes it a convenient stop for needed items. In short, if you need a cardigan, a banana, or holiday cookies, this place has it all. If a good customer service experience is your thing, then try some place else. read more

I arrived at the Walmart after a long flight and Uber trip, and as soon as I got in the lady at the front tells me I can't come in with my suitcase. I didn't even get the chance to pick it up and place it in a shopping cart. She said I had to get someone at customer service to watch it for me. I was tempted to exit because who wants to leave all their belongings for a trip at customer service, and what is this... the 2000's where they won't let you in? I stood in the long noisy line and waited to drop off the suitcase. The woman behind the desk acted as though she never heard of someone not being allowed in because of a suitcase. Thankfully she was very nice and helpful, unlike any other employee I encountered but I couldn't shop right because everything I had brought with me for my week long trip to several states was in that suitcase. I was so worried someone would walk off with it and there would be nothing anyone could do or care to do. The store was overly crowded, lines far too long, and everything was chaotic. The only thing I like best about this Walmart is the ladies restroom. It was beautiful and clean to a tee. I've never in my life been in a Walmart restroom where it was clean, spotless, and smelling fresh. All the restrooms I've been into at this store smell like a Subway sandwiches or stinky McDonalds greasy and processed foods. I don't usually like shopping at WalMart because it is way too expensive. I went to pick up my groceries from online pickup and was given a honey bun that had a sticker reminding me to review them. Although a kind gesture, it isn't enough to give them five stars. Because of the pandemic, Walmart is encouraging contactless pickup. You pop the trunk, they load your items and they sign for you too. However, I should have checked my bags before leaving because they didn't give me HALF my order. They tend to use ONE WHOLE BAG for just ONE small item (which I despise, another rant) I assumed it was all there. I was missing $45 worth of groceries and felt very inconvenienced. I tried to dispute online but had to contact customer service by phone. Luckily, I got through to someone quickly and they kindly helped me process a refund. I'll have to wait 3-5 business days to see it so I'm hoping it is actually processed and not just the run around. read more

If you need to buy gifts, go to Target instead of Walmart! I don't expect good service from Walmart, but even with my low expectations, this place is terrible. I came to buy some birthday presents for a little girl. Their checkout lines were way too long, so I went to the self checkout. There was no option to get a gift receipt. I asked the self checkout attendee for a gift receipt, and he said I had to go to customer service. The worker at customer service was named Otty. She was not friendly at all. I told her I needed a gift receipt. She gave me something of a disgusted look and said "For what". I pointed out the two toys I had purchased. She didn't know how to do the gift receipt, so she called the supervisor. The supervisor was friendlier, but she said they had to refund the toys then repurchase them. Otty also somewhat scolded me and told me to go to a regular checkout next time if I wanted a receipt. I told her I'd rather go to Target. I worked at Target 20 years ago, and even back then, the gift receipt procedure was so simple. They just scan your receipt and print out the gift receipt 2 seconds later. I can't believe Walmart has such a terrible procedure. read more

I hadn't been to this location in a very long time. I had actually stopped shopping at Walmart because of the grocery pickup locations were too far for me to drive. I decided to come to this location with a friend so we could pick up a few items. First, it was so crowded. Houston was preparing for bad weather (severe ice) so everyone was in the grocery store. Shelves were empty and the workers were quickly trying to restock the shelves as quickly as possible. What sold me is WalMart's availability of vegan/vegetarian foods. WalMart carries the brand "Morning Star" which is the best, in my opinion, for substitute meat. Walmart had buffalo wings, sausage links, breakfast sandwiches, meat crumbles, and much more for vegetarians. The reason I am sold is because other major grocery stores has options too but I have not seen as many as WalMart. I just noticed that this location added grocery pickup so I will be switching back to WalMart as my grocery provider. read more

The store is nice, and it took me a while to get used the set up, but everything is easily found. Pretty well organized store. I do not live in the area nor shop at Walmarts very frequently, so I expected to have some delay finding items I needed. Nonetheless, everything was logically nearby other items that are related to one another--with the exception to the pudding and jello mixes, which I normally find with the cake mixes. Other than that, I was surprised to make my way relatively easily through the aisles and finding what I needed with ease. Self-checkout was a little slow due to people ringing up a bunch of items and having no idea how to ring them up, but I was the end of the day after leaving work--no worries in my world! I will caution that the deli and delicatessen areas are slow--not because of numerous customers, but an employee who acts like their so busy they cannot greet a customer. Was I patient more than necessary? Yes! I really was entertained that someone was this skilled in avoiding people in a public place. Luckily, a male employee from the back with a stack of boxes greeted me and asks if I needed anything. When I replied, "Yes," he immediately turned around and prepared my order. He even saved me some money because I was about to purchase a half pound of wings when he suggested the entrée plate that gives you 6 wings and a side of choice. I thought it was a pretty good bargain until I drove home and ate dinner and found one of the wings needed more cooking time. Mind you these were fried wingettes and drummettes, not whole wings. Buyer beware! Parking can be a pain on the market (food side) of the store, but I've found that the garden area gets me the closest to the front door without parking way down--especially if you're shopping by yourself--it's a good idea to park as close to the front as possible. Shopping with some setbacks, but not so many that it'll ruin your whole shopping experience. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I only ordered one $10 item that shouldn't have taken as long as it did had there been a decent way to check in. They have a specific number posted on each & every spot reserved for pickup orders for you to call upon arrival at the store. I waited 15 min & I called the number 13 times; no answer & mailbox is full of course. How do you suppose we check in? I moved from my parking spot to catch one of the runners delivering groceries to vehicles that had arrived after me. The employee I was able to catch said they had to take a picture of my order number & then they'd retrieve it. I could say a few things but I'm hangry & may be unforgiving in my words. So I'll just say that whatever system they have in place for curbside pickup is flawed & they absolutely positively should do better. read more

I signed up to use WalMart's curbside pickup. I chose the location near me and then went on line to order 5 items. #1. They split the order and advised me that 3 items were available to pick up today, and the other items would be available in 2 more days. #2 They listed a WalMart that was further away than 2 others I normally go to. When I went in to correct the store choice, it would not allow the change. #3 Received an email yesterday from my credit card provider, that WalMart ran the charge. #4 Today I received an email from WalMart telling me that my order was available for pick up - but showed the items that I would NOT be getting, because their out of stock. Yet the charge for these items are still on my credit card. In life we live and learn......and I have learned to take my business elsewhere. read more

I wish I could give this Walmart zero stars. The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. I am home sick with Covid so I placed an online delivery order for food and medicine yesterday at noon and it was supposed to arrive at 6. I received no updates regarding the delivery so I called the store over 12 times and no one answered. I gave up that night and spent all morning today trying to get a hold of someone regarding my order. I finally called the pharmacy in hopes of speaking to someone and I begged them to have me speak to an associate and they said all they can do is transfer me. She transferred me and I was on hold for 10 minutes and then the phone hung up. Called back again, same story. I finally called the corporate line to complain and track my order and not even they could get a hold of the store or give me an ETA on my order because no one would pick up the phone. They told me the most I could do is get a refund which would take 7-10 business days and I used the last of my money to get that medicine delivered so I am out of options and my symptoms are getting worse. I'm desperate to get my food and medicine and have no one to bring these items to me. The only real option I have is to go to the store and see if my order is ready and my apartment is on the top floor with 3 flights of stairs and I barely have the strength to get out of bed. Considering all the awful reviews this location has, I'm considering reporting Walmart to the BBB, because they are putting people's lives at risk due to their laziness, incompetence and horrible service!!! read more

HORRIBLE AWFUL SERVICE! I wish they'd fire the "supervisor" and entire team while they're at it. Employees are usually dismissive and honestly lifeless but that's to be expected based on how poorly managed they are. Maybe with better management, the employees would know where to find items or maybe even feel inclined to ask IF I need help. LOL Or maybe with proper training the money center wouldn't take 30+ minutes to ONLY serve 4 people. I guess I'll be the first to write a review of this new Walmart. Overall this Walmart needs a lot of improvement but it IS fairly new so I'll cut it some slack. PROS- It's 5 minutes from my home. This is a HUGE plus because before, the closest Walmart was the one off of Shaver. It is not as big as other Walmarts but still has most of the amenities. The corn tortillas made in store are really good and decently priced, go check them out! They put great $1 deals by the Self Checkout and also good deals on bakery items by the dairy department Parking is easy, I usually park on the side by Taqueria Arandas. Helps me avoid the ongoing traffic of pedestrians. CONS- Took them forever to get their liquor permit, which was an inconvenience back then. They're not open 24hrs (but idk how good of an idea that would be given the neighborhood......) Their self check outs are enclosed in a tiny space, and since they lack cashiers, customers go to tbe SCO and it forms a long line OUTSIDE the box. Their seasonal section isn't too organized. No machine by pharmacy to check blood pressure. ****CAN'T TAKE OUT COSMETICS FROM COSMETICS DEPARTMENT. HAVE TO PAY IN THAT LITTLE CASH REGISTER**** Seriously HUGE inconvinience because I usually shop for toothpaste, shampoo etc first and therefor cosmetics since its next to that. I dont want to pay right then and there! (Esp one time I went for just one 99¢ lipstick and had to pay....) Flour tortillas, if done by the wrong lady, will stick together and the whole pack will be useless. Makes me so mad! But the ones I can unstick without ripping are tasty. If you exit on any of the exits on the front, you can only turn right towards Lawndale. If you want to get back on i-45 you have to go around the walmart towards Taqueria Arandas and exit there.
