We placed an in-store pickup order which contained a bicycle for a birthday gift for my child, and later received an email stating that the item was actually out of stock. My partner was already at the store by the time we realized this, and since the offered free shipping wasn't a workable option for us, he went inside to see what other bikes might be available. To his surprise, there were two of the exact same (easily recognizable/findable) brightly colored toddler bikes sitting on the sales floor that we were just told were unavailable. He was then able to purchase one of those bikes directly in the store. I completely understand that mistakes happen and inventory systems aren't gonna be always perfect. However, it's tough to understand how an online pickup order could be canceled for being out of stock when the exact item was available for purchase in store??? It just feels like no one took the time to verify whether the item was actually available before canceling the order. Disappointing customer service. read more

I placed a delivery order on Wednesday, November 27th early in the afternoon. They said my delivery would be between 8pm -10pm. I know this was the day before Thanksgiving but if they were not able to deliver, they simply should not have had delivery options available. Because we thought that they were delivering, we didn't go to the store to get the items that I needed for Thanksgiving and for my granddaughter's birthday party which was on Thanksgiving. (I did do a full thanksgiving shopping but had forgotten things). Here it is the day after Thanksgiving and I still have not received my order. After calling customer service, they gave me a $15 food credit which I think is laughable. I understand in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes but just wanted to put this out there. I am very disappointed with this store. They are constantly out of stock of things that I'm looking for. They prefer you check your self out. They only have 2 or 3 regular registers open and there is always big lines. All of their self checkout registers don't accept cash. It is inconvenient if you have 1 or 2 small items and want to pay cash. Then you either have to wait in a long line or use a card. P.S. The auto center personnel seem to be incompetent. This is directed at the auto center! A few weeks ago I got a flat tire while visiting my brother in Gardner but needed to get home to Chelmsford asap. I stopped in here, not realizing I had needed to make an appointment but the nice gentleman behind the counter asked a service guy (wish I'd gotten his name) if he had time to fix my tire.. 15 minutes later, new tire mounted, I was on my way home! After realizing that we needed to buy a battery operated air pump for our camping trip we stopped in at this Walmart. When we arrived on a weekday the store was fairly empty and it was almost impossible to find an employee to guide us. We ended up find the section we needed but had to dig through the rubble of the aisle to find the pump. When we went to check out the cashier was fairly quiet and only spoke to us once we said hello and then eventually good bye. In the end, this place had what we needed but customer service was lacking. read more

This is the worst run Walmart I have ever seen and I have lived all over the country. They can't keep anything in stock food, pharmacy stuff, etc. Auto service is a joke. I bought 4 new tires here and one of them didn't last me 5 weeks. I also bought the road hazard warranty. The tire was clearly defective, but Walmart insisted I have to buy a whole new tire and then they would refund me. Not sure when they changed their policy but now it is a joke. Auto manager also told me I could drive on a bald donut tire for a year. Your not supposed to drive more than 50 miles total or over 50mph on a donut tire without causing the car damage including the transmission. They don't know about cars. read more

as of December 7 at 5 o'clock without them sending any warning they stop doing free delivery from the store under $35 now it's 699 for delivery from the store I've had a service for a year and a half now they can send you an email to tell you there's a sale they can send you 10 emails telling you about Black Friday but they can't send you one email saying they're stopping something very important to me basically Walmart plus no longer offers free delivery I canceled my my Walmart plus but it would've been nice if they contacted the people instead of just automatically doing that I did a delivery this morning it was fine as of like 5 o'clock today they decided they understand it's a big company but I'm done with Walmart I'll never shop there again I'm returning the one thing I have from them and that's it read more

It is freezing out today and Walmart has their inside portion of the lawn and garden open with the heat down. The workers out there today looked frozen and there's only one small space heater for them all. What is wrong with you Walmart?! It's winter time and it's frigid out. Garden center was very friendly and the dept manager has a great sense of humor. The little old man that waters the flowers is so helpful. I always get my oil changed and new tires here too. I also just had an appt at there vision center and it was so great! So much friendlier than my previous eye doctor and didn't rush me the appt. very friendly all around. Grocery has great prices and I also do saving catcher so if there is lower prices at nearby stores I will get the difference and will be able to receive a gift card for it I get everything I want here and if not get it site to store. A review of Wal-Mart is like a mute point... its freaking wal mart. Its the same first of its kind, big box store of all your miscellaneous mediocre crap. We all are guilty of shopping at such hot messes of places like Wally World because let face it, if they sell it, its not going to be cheaper anywhere else. Employees here must work here for the discount.. HA that's a laugh. Don't pack your Che Guevara t-shirt away just yet, this is the worst organization in the country when it comes to how employees are treated and surely shows when you visit a Wal Mart in Central Mass to a Wal Mart in Kentucky .. its the same. But every now and then, you find employees that actually give a crap about their job regardless of how they are recognized for such. I've found that this location (maybe its the nice country setting of the Hubbs/Gardner line) has a higher rate of those very folks. 9 out of 10 of the employees here have been helpful, kind, and not appearing to completely hate their lives. Surprisingly, even those afternoons during a holiday weekend and the place is packed, I've managed to get out of there and not wait in lines too long. That I can appreciate of any store, but even in the customer service line, making returns, doing online pick up and getting assistance with stuff to my car, its been a pretty smooth experience every time. Haven't had anything done at the auto center yet but from what I've heard oil changes are a hidden gem for saving a couple bucks vs. Jiffy Lube or Valvoline and unlike those places Wal Mart kinda understands we are not all loaded, and wont try to upsell you on nonsense, Its right on the line of Gardner and Hubbardston on Rte. 68 so it may be a hike for most but kinda worth the drive and right off rte 2. read more

I was there on 12/22 with my half Puerto Rican, half-Black, boyfriend. We were followed around for a while with a (It "shouldn't" matter) white man in a dressy blue button-up shirt. We got into the self check out, and I scanned every item per usual. Of course, here he comes from the other side of the store!!! He comes up to us. "I don't think you scanned this" uhhhh... "I watched you," he said. I assured him I scanned every item and asked why he was harassing us our whole trip there? Nothing was said other than he gets paid to do that. After he left and was assured nothing was going to be stolen we needed help with our gift card. We said "Excuse me" HE COMPLETELY IGNORED US!! I am so done with the racism in this town. This is a good size store with an auto center and donut shop. The aisles are wide and uncluttered and all the self checkout machines accept cash (unlike in Leominster). There is ample parking including many slots for curbside pickup. They should stock antibacterial wipes but do not. These are essential in the summer for people going to the beach, on picnics, etc. I found everything else I was looking for. read more

Do not get an oil change here. It is not a bargain and they do not know what they are doing. The staff is poorly trained, which I blame Wal-Mart for. There is hardly ever anyone at the counter to assist you. Even when you have an appointment, an oil change takes 45 minutes. I've given them 3 chances and they have blown it each time. First time, they left the oil pan cover hanging on the ground so as I drove away, all you heard was it dragging on the ground. Ruined. Second time, they put the wrong oil in. Except that when I went back for them to put the right oil in, and with an appointment, it took 45 minutes. After buying and them installing 4 tires, I starting losing air in a tire. I go back and the clerk states that will be that tires free repair. The mechanic comes in an says the other guy forgot to do something with the air pressure sensor and it was their fault. But the clerk doesn't say anything to me. Enough said. Aweful and never again. read more

The other day, I stopped in because I got a flat on the way to work. I agreed to have them do an oil change and replace my wipers since there was a wait for the repair anyway. About an hour or so later, I was told my vehicle was ready. I noticed there was no tire repair on the bill. I walked back and asked the associate why they didn't plug my tire. They said my tires were too worn. ( I have worked in automotive service/parts for 16 years at dealerships)... Basically, they did the oil change, filled my tires with air, and put it outside without telling me that my tire couldn't be plugged. They were going to let me leave with a screw still in my tire without telling me. I had to buy my own tire plug kit, and plug it myself in the parking lot....the flat was the whole reason I stopped in...don't risk your life for people that are too lazy to inform their customers. read more
