Made a quick stop for dryer balls and thermals for my boyfriend. He accidentally got pants instead of a shirt and the lady at self checkout said we could quickly return it at customer service. We headed over and waited for assistance. We explained what happened and that we needed to exchange the pants for the shirt and Rhonda at the service counter was very rude. I myself have worked in retail before and am familiar with how returns work and they really are quite simple. We nicely asked for a quick, simple return, and were given eye rolls, eyebrow raises, and a rude tone. Thanks Rhonda. read more

The pharmacy at this Walmart in Alpena Michigan is the worst i have ever been in. I had to wait in line for 1 hour to get my prescriptions. They only had 1 person at the front with 20 people in line. I will definitely not come back to Walmart for their pharmacy. read more

The employees are pretty nice and helpful, it isn't the cleanest store though to go to though.

I've been to a number of different Walmarts, but I have to say this Alpena one is by far the best, in terms of cleanliness and customer service. This particular location seems to be going through a major design revamp recently, which is encouraging. Being a Supercenter, this store has a pretty decent selection of merchandise, both grocery and general merchandise, and naturally has lower prices for products nearby competitors carry. read more

I use to like this store. Up until this morning. I tried to call and get information from them about a vicious rumor that you have to have a mask on to enter and shop in the store. Tried calling a few minutes ago (they're supposed to be open) phone rang endlessly in every dept. without being answered! What's the deal? If I can't get someone to answer a simple question maybe they're not worthy of my business. I have a degree in accounting and Business management and I would never run my business like that! Maybe they need to replace some management starting with the manager. Because from what I see, there's no management at all. I would also like to inform corporate, that if you are indeed requiring shoppers to wear masks in your stores, you just lost a great deal of business from myself and a good deal of other people who don't want or need for you to act as our guardians. The workers are mean besides the greatest who are friendly. There are always items scattered around the store and are not in the right location. They are always moving stuff around so you can never find anything. This is why I go to meijer. read more

Decent prices and selection. Quick and easy. My husband and I go to this store all the time when we're in town visiting my in-laws. It's nothing fancy but its a big Wal-Mart and its usually the quickest way to get whatever we need. read more

I'm not a big fan of Walmart in general and this one justifies why. The employees are not friendly or helpful at all and they always seem annoyed when they have to show you where something is. The restrooms are disgusting, from full garbage cans to unclean stalls, its almost worse than a gas station bathroom. The produce at this Walmart never seems to be fresh either. However, their low prices are good for when you're on a budget and it is always easy to find things throughout the store. read more

Horrible customer service department. Even the supervisors don't have an understanding of what customer service is about. Most times I've been standing in the Customer Service (returns) line from 15 minutes to 45 minutes because only one register is open. One of those times the supervisor after noticing that there was a long line with only one register open,sent her other people on a break. All supervisors need customer service training. read more

Although I am not a fan of Walmart in general I want to rate this one because of the service. I've been to Walmart stores all over Mi and in Tx,, Ga.and S.Carolina, and the Alpena store wins hands down. The employees have always been friendly and courteous in all the years I've shopped there. Even though the store in Tawas is closer for me I would rather go to Alpena The store is clean and inviting. read more
