Let's start with the employees... my interactions with 2 different employees left me with a feeling that they are just not happy about being here, both of them were short and seemed grumpy. While the store has pretty much everything imaginable under the sun the prices are in line and some actually more than other retailers. So I guess the $100 question is... why do I need to shop here when I can get better pricing and frontier service other? 2 stars and I'm being generous.

Had a 1:30pm appointment out here today and was ahead of schedule. So I rushed in to get some chores done, and therefore did not take a lot of pictures. Quality/Quantity - Consistent, actually very good. Not only was I able to get everything I needed, but it was amazingly easy to find. Did have to ask one person to check prices as sadly most/many of their merchandise are in the wrong slot. Atmosphere - Busy location. I wish there were more Walmarts closer to where I am staying. But glad I did not have to drive all the way to Milpitas or San Leandro. Service - Self service. Actually, the team members who helped me scan for prices were good. Thank you. Price - Didn't look, inexpensive. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1969, as the world's largest company by revenue (2022), $648+ billion sales (2024); 50+ stores in Nevada and 309+ stores in California (2022). 1962 Walmart Discount City. 1969 Walmart Inc. 1970 Walmart Stores Inc.

Not sure why people don't like this Walmart Supercenter on Almaden by 85. For me, the customer service was much better than my hometown. Products are plenty. But I can't find clearance for men's clothing. Aisles were kind of narrow in the grocery section. Once there's a customer in the aisle, we have to use the next aisle to pass through. I would be back because it's the closest Walmart to the place I stay.

They say it's company policy . What a dumb decision

Their selection in many of the departments is minimal. I stopped by to return a Christmas gift that I received that didn't work out. I went directly to the customer service area where you do the returns. It wasn't too busy and there were only 2 people ahead of me. The Macy's associate greeted me when it was my turn. She asked me for proof of purchase. There was no gift receipt that came with the gift. It used to be, that the tag had the return barcode on it, but apparently this has changed. All she could do was return it for the price it currently was, since I didn't have a gift receipt. I'm not sure why they changed their policy, but that just made things more complicated. Then she said she had to wait and see what the register does after she processes the return. I might get a store credit on a gift card or might receive it in the mail. Luckily I was able to get it on a gift card right then. I'll have to remember when I purchase a gift here in the future to ask for a gift recipient. That way the person who receives my gift won't have to deal with this craziness if they aren't happy with my gift. Other than that, my experience with the customer service was good.

The store I actually live closest to now is the Macy's at Oakridge Mall, and for years it honestly felt like it was declining. The brands weren't as strong, the sales floor felt neglected, and the dressing rooms were constantly overflowing with racks, piles of go-backs, and clothes everywhere. As someone who worked in retail, I know customers don't always pick up after themselves, but it was clear the store was overwhelmed and understaffed. It stopped feeling like a store and started feeling like an empty box filled with fixtures and clutter. But something has changed, and I want to acknowledge it, because it's noticeable. Over the last 9-12 months, this Macy's has made a huge transformation. The store is open and clean. Dressing rooms are empty from piles of clothes. Go-backs aren't piling up. And for the first time in years, I've actually had sales associates approach me to ask if I needed help: friendly, present, and visible. It feels like a real store again, with energy and people who care. I know retail has changed over the decades, fewer employees, more online shopping, cost-cutting everywhere, but experiences like this remind me why some of us want to shop in person. When a store feels cared for, we want to support it. And honestly, I've bought more in the last couple of visits than I have in a long time. Whatever happened behind the scenes, whoever made the decision to turn things around -- thank you. This is my hometown Macy's, the mall I've been going to for 40+ years, just a few miles from home. I'm at the Target in this mall all the time, and now I actually look forward to walking through Macy's again. Really appreciate the effort this location has put in to bring the store back to life. I notice it, and I'm grateful for it.

I want to start by saying that the Kohl's return experience itself was excellent, especially considering we did not have a gift receipt. The associate made the exchange simple and efficient using my ID, and I was genuinely grateful for how smoothly the process went. On our way out, we decided to stop by the Sephora section inside Kohl's. We were browsing and initially looking for It's A 10 products, which we later learned are carried by Ulta rather than Sephora. Unfortunately, our experience in the Sephora area was very uncomfortable. A security guard began closely following us almost immediately. When I first acknowledged him with a greeting, there was no response. As we moved toward the back wall looking for scent strips, he continued to hover nearby. While I understand the need for loss prevention, especially given the current retail climate, his continued presence through every aisle became excessive and made us feel uneasy. At one point, a Sephora staff member kindly asked if we needed help. She was polite and professional, and under different circumstances I would have welcomed assistance. However, by that point, the constant hovering had already made the situation uncomfortable, and I declined. When we moved toward the front to sample body sprays (such as Sol de Janeiro), the security guard remained nearby, watching us closely. As someone who worked in security myself after high school, I understand the mindset and challenges of the role. That said, effective loss prevention should be discreet and professional. Hovering over the same customers, especially a family with a baby, creates discomfort and risks pushing genuine customers away, without necessarily deterring actual theft. This experience left us feeling judged, whether due to casual clothing on a relaxed day, or assumptions that may be made based on appearance or background. I also recognize that there are situations where individuals misuse strollers for theft, so I understand the need for awareness. However, customer service should always be the first line of engagement, not intimidation. I recommend additional training for security staff on discreet monitoring and coordination with store associates. If there is concern, it should be communicated quietly to staff so that friendly customer service can be used first. Reviewing store footage from around 3:10 p.m. on January 3rd may also be helpful for internal training purposes. Unfortunately, this experience reinforced why I often prefer shopping online rather than in-store. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so future customers feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable while shopping.
