My family is a bit more familiar with the brand so we headed on in on a recent road trip in the area. You can tell that this was a building that has been here for a very long time and probably under a different brand name before Weis moved in. With them moving in you can tell that they didn't do much with the condition of the building or any type of expansion. Looks as if they kept it very similar to whomever held this place prior. Not being from the area made for an interesting visit. The parking lot was of a decent size that made finding a parking spot easy. Upon entry to the place grab a cart. There were no carts inside and we did not notice this so had to go back outside to grab a cart. They do seem to have some pretty good sales in here and the place is well organized. Although it is on the smaller side. That translates to not having everything you would think they should under one roof. You also have to remember they are playing to the area and carry what sales here. We did go up and down all the aisles looking to see what we might want to get. Sure enough the cart was fairly full by the time we were about to exit. I personally did not do a lot of shopping, but I did grab a few items that I knew I needed and because of the sales and/or low prices, practically got it for a steal. Decent grocery store that definitely benefits the community.

BUT scenery park is the besssst dentist I have ever been to (and I've been to more than a dozen). I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Basco, Dr Christian, a really cool dental assistant, and their really fastidious dental hygienist (shoot I forgot her name sorry). Dr. Basco is my favorite - she is freaking hilarious. They did some cleanings, a crown for me after I had the pleasure of having a root canal downstairs haha. I even took a selfie with Dr. Basco when they were doing a mold of my mouth....maybe I can find it and upload it later haha. I brought my husband for a cleaning as well. When I left State College they actually sent me a gift card and a kind note which was super sweet - THANKS! If only I could like bring this dental office with me so I don't have to test the waters with some rando...I highly recommend them! I'm not really sure what Nicholas B is talking about because they were ALWAYS upfront about how much my procedures would cost. I actually got a great deal on my crown because of a program they have that gives you 20% off of all services beyond the routine stuff which is covered by the program. It probably would've cost an extra $1000 if I had it done in VA where I am originally from. I really do not think they are truly only in it for the money...they seem to really like their job and talking with their patients. They remembered stuff I told them from months ago and would ask me about how my job is going etc. They also never told me I had extra cavities just to squeeze money out of me which is a common practice for sketchy dentists...

There was a period of time where I, unfortunately, did not keep up with routine cleanings, due to not having dental insurance. Even with all the right home behaviors, I have soft teeth and things happen. I began having complications and needed to be seen. When I heard of Dr. Guisbert's retirement, I panicked. Do I stay and try the new dentist or do I look for another one? I struggle with change in the medical field because it can often take several years to know and trust a new doctor. After much debate and research, I decided to see Dr. Guisbert's replacement, Dr. Pannebaker. Dr. Pannebaker's honesty immediately earned my trust. He was upfront from the beginning, laid out all of my options, and left the ball in my court to decide what was best for me. I decided to proceed with having three root canals. Yes, you read that right - three. His bedside manners are untouchable. He thoroughly explains the process and addresses any questions or concerns. Throughout the procedure, he is quick to tell you exactly what he is doing, what steps are next, and how much longer he will be. Dr. Ng's office takes Penn State…read morestudent insurance, in fact he'll tell you up front that if you're a student (especially a grad student on assistantship/fellowship) that you're covered! Beyond that he never tries to push you into doing a procedure that isn't covered by my insurance. Nor does he try to push you to specialists and surgery for no reason. He'll even show you a better way to floss and keep your teeth healthy if you're having issues. Truly a gem among dentists! But it can be a bit of a maze from hell trying to navigate your way through the main building's front door. My suggestion would be to take the entrance on Pugh St just past the Red Cross office, from there its a straight shot down the hall two to three doors down!

The building they're in is a bit of a maze. Make sure to enter through the Pugh street entrance or you'll be confused. Read on for more details on the whole interaction. ~~~ I called at 11:45am, explained that I had a painless but clearly-visible cavity that needed filling ASAP before a vacation. I didn't have insurance info on hand, but the receptionist was able to pull up my information right away and give me price quotes over the phone. Due to a cancellation, within the hour I was in the dentists' chair having a great conversation about local fishing spots while we waited for the local anesthetic to kick in. He reminded me multiple times to "not be shy" and tell them when it hurts. When they started, I wimped out and asked for more anesthetic...so more fishing chat ensued. After what seemed like 15-20 minutes of pain-free work...they finished up and sent me on my way! I'm scheduled to go back after vacation. I can honestly say that they've cured me of my irrational fear of getting my teeth fixed up and plan to go back for regular cleanings like when I was a young tyke and my parents made me go!
