Finally!! At last a full Ikea store down here in PR! This is located in the Santa Rosa Mall…read more This store is a regular store with the walk through room layout/ self serve item space. There is a large parking lot as well as parking space under the store itself. You do not have to buy online and pick up- you can buy right in the store! There is a cafe downstairs and another upstairs. The layout is packed into a smaller area of space so I do recommend following the floor arrows because otherwise the "rooms" are very confusing to follow. If you want a larger item, you do have to wait in line in front of the store and wait for someone to get it for you. The line for this area was a bit crazy so avoid this on weekends if you can. Both cafe areas have seating areas. The downstairs cafe did have a lot of flies all around the food- hopefully this gets fixed in the nearby future. Although everyone may expect pork/rice/ beans, they instead offer the glorious ikea meatballs... as well as sandwiches, salads, wraps, hotdogs, and a variety of offerings. They have a large selection of drinks and desserts as well.

This mall, although nice, is not worth going out of my way... well, except for the Marshall's. I loved this Marshall's. What I didn't like was the food court. It is spacious, but about half of the stands were either vacant or closed. Leaving a sad amount of options. Luckily, there are several good options on the outside. There is also a Caribbean Cinemas. In addition to the Marshall's Megastore, this mall has a Best Buy and TJ Maxx.

The supercenter was very large and had most items for everyday living, at prices that I'm assuming locals find acceptable. It is two stories, with a multi-level parking garage below. The first floor is mainly the grocery store portion, with the upper floor being the typical 'Walmart' discount department retailer items, connected by a cool moving ramp (travelators) that allows carts to be brought along as well. Later learned that the wheels are locked not by magnets, but by a mechanical system where tiny grooves in the wheels interlock with the moving meta track, to make the cart immobile while on the track. I tried it out and it definitely worked as advertised. The location required a car to get there from the cruise ports, thus were not really used by many tourists/visitors when we got there. They did have a small tourist/souvenir section upstairs, but there was nothing that our group wanted, and prices seemed similar to the many shops in the tourist section of Old San Juan. We did buy a small bottle of locally produced vanilla, and did find that the games section had Pokemon cards for sales, that we took advantage of. Payment was through a self-checkout area, and my Walmart+ membership was recognized via my entered phone number, delivering the receipt via email. There are 13 Walmart supercenters in Puerto Rico, with this 150,000 square feet one opening in 2013. Our private tour guide did mention that we were the first group of hers that specifically asked to stop by a Walmart. I joked that maybe on our next visit, she could take us to a Costco nearby on the island.

Queda en el casco urbano de Bayamón y tanto puedes llegar a pie como en transportación pública. Amplio estacionamiento. Tienen un montón de años establecido y a mi entender ninguna tienda es una ancla sino que es un centro con una combinación de tiendas y servicios. El Huracán María 2017 lo destruyó en gran parte pero resurgió como el Águila y ahora es otra cosa con todo nuevo por dentro. Caminar por sus pasillos es una sensación distinto a la monotonía de otros centro comerciales.

I did find that it was a comparable to other boutiques back in Florida. It's the 11% tax that is annoying. The upstairs has El Mercado and it is literally an upscale food court. I wish I could've eaten here every single day I stayed in San Juan. There were many different options such as Chinese, Italian, and Hispanic foods. There was a really fun bar up there, as well as a crêpe maker. I ate at Finco and it was delicious I will definitely make it a priority to eat there more than once next time around. There was live music on Friday and there is a Fogo De Chao as well as a blue martini.
