    Gilpin's Auto Parts

My experience with them was horrible. I gave the one star because that's the least amount I could…read moregive. I ordered a rather expensive part from them which was a large freight item that came with a very large shipping fee to have it shipped to Tennessee where I live.On top of that I had to pay extra for residential delivery. The item didn't arrive on the scheduled delivery day. Gilpins wouldn't even take the time to help find my item. Found it sitting in courier warehouse in Atlanta still with no help from Gilpins. Delivery was finally made at 11:45 at night. A special one stop delivery just to me to keep me from calling corp. office. The courier company Gilpins was called Estes. And the extra fee Gilpins charged me for the residential delivery. The item was never delivered to my residence. The special delivery I mention took place at 11:45 at night at a business down the road from my house with only 1 older gentlemen driver to somehow unload a complete rear axle assembly by himself and not even at my extra shipping fee residence. So then I had to wake friends and family up get them to come all the way over here which had to be after midnight by this time to help unload this from the delivery truck by hand then on to my truck then every one load up and come on to my house to help unload it. the thing was on a pallet and wrapped in plastic and that's the way we left it till morning. Morning came we unwrapped it and as if we hadn't been thru enough headache with this already but now with it unwrapped and daylight we see one side doesn't even have the parts on it. Called Gilpins and they refused a refund even though the site says they have a warranty. They even refused a partial refund so I could go buy the parts the didn't ship. After all the shipping mess couldn't even get anything back on that not even extra I paid for residential delivery. They did hang up on me every time I called for weeks. Maybe just trying to be considerate of my long distant phone bill (ha ha ha). maybe they felt bad for screwing over a girl all the way in Tennessee . I think theres probably a real special place in hell for people who do other people like that. The final outcome for that incomplete "complete rear axle assembly" is the real icing of all this. Already having to purchase all the parts for that one incomplete side at our own cost of course we decided to replace all those parts on the other side too that way both sides were new. Spent hours researching to best oil for the rear end. Spent over $80 just on it. Which ends up pouring out on the ground because SUPRIZE INCOMPLETE SIDE WAS INCOMPLETE BECAUSE IT WAS BAD FROM THE START I SUPPOSE. Just that one side that came incomplete has had 3 different mechanics 3 different shops new parts each time and that amsoil just pouring out like the jed struck oil again. No one could get it to stop so I ended up having the original axle assem rebuilt and put back. After all that I wouldn't even buy a valve stem cap from them or recommend them to my worst enemie. And I hope they find that before mentioned special place one day that was probably created just for them anyways. One last thing id like to add... Gilpins advertise that they Hold memberships in the Automotive Recyclers Association and the Missouri Auto & Truck Recyclers organizations. I personally called both organizations using the numbers and links from the Gilpin website. The recyclers ass. said Gilpins were not members and seemed rather upset to find out Gilpins was using their name and logo. The Missouri Auto & Truck Recyclers said they would look into it and contact me back but never did.
