Although Solid Ground appears as a Coordinated Entry Access point for people in search of resources…read morefor housing or eviction prevention, the highly unprofessional staff will not provide assistance to anyone they do not know and do not like. Staff at this agency use call screening devices to scan for names and telephone numbers of previous clients whom the staff have blacklisted from social services. Do not waste your valuable time and energy on this non profit agency that acts as an obvious grift.

Wow this place is awesome. Stopped by for 'training' for their Operation Front line volunteering…read moreprogram, which teaches families, parents, kids and teens of low income families how to cook nutritious and delicious meals on a budget. What a great idea! Instead of just giving out food, each class participant gets a great lesson in cooking and nutrition, then they get to help create a meal in class AND a bag of groceries to take home with them to practice. The people at training were great - nutrition majors, foodies, chefs all mingling in a philanthropic pow wow. The training was hands on and interactive, and I really like Solid's Ground's focus on diversity, equality, respect and education as a way to help the community. Super cool place! There was a cooking class going on with a room of kids and it smelled heavenly! Look up Solid Ground's Operation Front Line if you love food and love volunteering!

Review of the Kiddo Play Area: So this pandemic thing is really taking a toll on things, and well,…read morewe have been to basically every open air playground around the Greenwood/Broadview/Carkeek area... except we realized that we haven't been to the one behind the PNA. So on a cold, non-rainy day, we took the kiddo there to see if it was any good. Keep in mind that it's reserved for the preschool during the week/business hours, but on the weekend, it was a nice change of scenery. They had a few play structures, on a mulch and rubberized area. Sure, parental guidance is required, and you really should have a "toddler" kiddo here... but for the kiddo, she enjoyed the slides, the "kitchen" and the tires. She being the expert of walking on narrow surfaces, I think enjoyed the areas like a balance beam master in training. If you have been everywhere, and you want a playground that is a nice scenery change, here's one more to add to the list. Also, nearby is Red Mill Burger, so there's that you could be eating, while your kiddo is playing to their heart's delight.
