This…read moreincludes Bobbi Brown, MAC Cosmetics, Clinique, Stila, Origins, Prescriptives, Estee Lauder, and American Beauty, among others; those are just the brands I've actually seen in the store. They sell items from these lines at a discount of up to 30% off retail. Since they're a TRUE outlet store, their stock will vary from shipment to shipment. If you call and inquire about a specific item (for instance, Bamboo eyeshadow by MAC), they can tell you if they have it in stock, but cannot give prices over the phone. As an example of savings, I saved $4 on an eyeshadow; $6 each on a couple of brushes; $6 on pigments... I've only purchased MAC items from there. The items they carry may be from a limited edition collection, or may be an item from the permanent collection that was a little older (I've found shadows there with a date code from just last year; the shadows are fine). It was a pleasant surprise to me to find brushes here; they also have makeup bags and train cases from time to time. A plus for this store was the size. I've been to two other CCO's, and this one was easily twice the size. The clerks were all friendly, too. If you visit, make sure you ask if there are any eyeshadows, blushes (etc) of the line you're interested in in the back that aren't out. While they have testers for the vast majority of product, there are sometimes things they don't have testers for.

Any shop using the word "apothecary" tends to pique my interest since they often carry more niche brands, or higher end skincare, and as someone who loves exploring skincare I am quick to stop in; this was no different. I was a little surprised to see as much Dr. Hauschka here as they carry since that's a line you can get at Whole Foods. It was also a surprise that as a shop specializing in makeup and skin care that they didn't appear to carry a sunscreen--and I mean an a product that was solely sunscreen, not a foundation or lip color with SPF 30 or something. Sunscreen is probably the most important thing one can use in their routine, but you wouldn't guess that at a shop focused on skincare? They have a LOT of scents here. It's a small shop and it can quickly become overwhelming, as well as hard to tell the perfumes apart. Both of us customers in store quipped about the lack of coffee beans, and learned that they had them once and when they spilled they stopped using them. I was curious about one but I wasn't able to tell what it truly smelled like since one of the other folks in the shop had sprayed several already. The person working gave me a little tester to take home, though, which I appreciated. I would give this store another whirl if I was in the area. But overall I was a bit disappointed in their skin care options and lack of detail (the missing sun protection). They have a lot of makeup here too but I didn't really look at that much (it was somewhat dark in the shop so I wouldn't have been able to see a true color anyway). The building is not accessible; there are several steps to get into the shop. It's street parking only.

The customer service is great, and they have an amazing selection of goods, don't get me wrong. The issue is that they are OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. Most of the items they sell are marked up EVEN HIGHER than the product manufacturer's own prices! You will easily spend over $100 on a small handful of things that you could purchase for much fairer prices elsewhere. A lot of these manufacturers have official TikTok shops that are cheaper than this place. If you're worried about authenticity, there are Korean cosmetic marketplace websites/apps like Style Korean, Olive Young Global, and Stylevana just to name a few who ship 100% authentic brand items directly from Korea. Listen, if you plan on spending $100 anyway and don't need something right away, I strongly urge you to look into the online Korean marketplaces before wasting your money here. If you spend over a certain amount (usually $60) they ship for free, and I have never had to wait more than a week for a package. Not only will you get a fair price for authentic items, most of these marketplaces also have point systems. They reward points for writing reviews and for every dollar spent. These points accumulate into dollar amounts that you can use for future purchases. The most I ever got from Choc Choc was a birthday coupon that I couldn't even use on their website. Trust me, when you do the math, you won't regret shopping with the online Korean marketplaces like you will here. I'll give Choc Choc one star for the amazing customer service, but their price point demolishes the whole experience.

The last two times I was in here, the associate was friendly and helpful. I prefer to be left to my own devices while shopping, but when I ask for samples here I don't feel like I am bothering anyway. They were accommodating and polite whenever I've asked for samples of foundation and primers. I've also been offered samples of products that I wasn't familiar with, so I appreciated that she spent some time asking about my skin type and fixed up two samples of a face scrub and moisturizer I might like. Thanks to her, I went from using an affordable Aveeno moisturizer to a $30+ Korres pomegranate moisturizer that I am now pretty sure I can't live without. It does help that this location doesn't have as much foot traffic. The displays are clean and well-stocked. And the associates aren't too busy or aloof to actually help you if you need it. Although they do not have all of the make-up lines that standalone Sephora stores carry, I've found that the products that I buy most are available here anyway.
