This Walgreens under the Hotel Rumbao does not open on time.

When there are a crowd of people waiting outside for you to open the doors sharply at 8:00 in the morning, you shouldn't be milling around inside until 8:08 before you finally unlock the doors. We could all see you, too. You weren't really doing anything during that eight minutes, just meandering around in circles as if you didn't have a care in the world. You suck. Anyway, this what happened on 8/24/2024 as I stood outside, dying to get inside so I could buy some jock itch spray (which they were out of).

Great location . Clean and well stocked. They sale souvenirs, frozen food and liquor. The line is painfully slow.

Have you ever heard of a Walgreens drug store being the lobby of a Sheraton Hotel? Well this one happens to be exactly that. Located just across the street from the Cruise Ship Terminal it immediately catches the eye of cruise ship passengers desperate to get those little things like eye drops, varying sun screens, hair brushes, pain relievers, etc. that they either forgot to pack or are unavailable aboard their ship. So when the cruise ships come in, it can really get packed as a first stop for tourists and this Walgreens is well equipped to handle their needs. The real strangeness is that it's just not within the Sheraton Hotel, it's the main front entrance to it. Sheraton, however, would like to say its main entrance is on a side street, but hotels don't have main entrances on side streets. Though I don't know this for sure, locals have advised me that Walgreens really wanted this location so much that they had the hotel casino move out to accommodate them. To me, totally a crazy set up, but welcome to life in Old San Juan.

Did you lay out on the cruise ship deck and come back looking like the lobster you ate at dinner? Did the body wash provided in your cruise cabin cause you to itch? Did you forget your razor or shaving cream and don't want to pay top-dollar cruise ship gift shop prices? Maybe you just want a bottle of soda. If you answered yes and you're cruising to or from San Juan, this Walgreens is for you. It's located directly in front of the cruise ship terminal. Since it's a Walgreens pharmacy, they can handle any prescription needs you may have, with bonuses like coffee and liquor. I can't say that I've ever seen a pharmacy sell liquor before, but there's a first time for everything. It's a Walgreens, so what you see is what you get, but this place can be a literal lifesaver for cruising needs, so don't miss it.

Manager could have been a little more professional and not been an asshole with me when the atm didn't disperse my $300.

Cooked food, sushi, breads, sandwiches, fresh baked pizza, booze, produce, meats and almost everything you can cook are available. I usually pick up local spice mixes to take back home as gifts instead of a keychain soon to be buried in a drawer, fugly fridge magnet or chipped shot glasses. This spice section was pretty full and was inexpensive compared to other metro areas and souvenir stands. Since everyone eats and cooks, instead of hot sauce or other bottles of condiments, I love to share dry spices or canned meats, that are easy to pack. Coffee is another one that we love to try out and share after sipping samples. Boricua is great ground dark roast to consider. Walmart might be bigger with more stuff but we really search out local grocery stores to get a feel for a pulse of the area.
