I've found the new laws regarding class II Medications require far more than a healthy individual should endure especially when they're legitimately being treated for any illness, much less, one requiring one of these restricted medications. NOTE for congress-These LAWS were clearly made by healthy people. They must be greatly REVISED
Those of us, chronically ill and suffer what "oft times" becomes nearly debilitating symptoms find such requirements adding insult to injury,
(having to jump through a series of hoops to prove we're not criminals or selling) We are barely capable of picking up medication. Add to that the return visits to the doctor to be checked and provided a paper script each month for medication you've been precribed for years & you're must taking for life. You are now required to physically go to the pharmacy (s) to 1st see if they have the medication. You can't just call them in advance to ask. Not according to new laws.
I've found this pharmacy to be the toughest in scruntinizing who they dispense these medications to. At first, my dear friend 《who just happens to be a doctor》was quite insulted. As a physician, his loss of 1-3 hours of work to FILL A PRESCRIPTION is not only considerably expensive it serves only to delay his patients. Since its not an area of his EXPERTISE, as a physician, he's chosen NOT to prescribe Class II meds.) However, he too, has a chronic medical condition, diagnosed bu his physician, requiring a medication that by definition falls into this class.)
There are several pharmacists we've dealt with at this location. This 5 star rating is for *nearly all of them. PRIMARILY, the one we've seen most frequently. She is the main one there. She's incredible. She works tirelessly to help everyone. Doesn't hesitate to switch to cashiering when the need arises, and for the most part, ALWAYS ASKS people how they are. She familiarizes herself with the patients and applies her congenial personality to her professional standards and knowledge.
I was quite appauled when I first dealt with her indiscriminate application to the new laws, I'd used Walgreens for 7 years!!. My records were clearly available. Okay, usually I fill scripts in Orlando. Well, now I'm in Merritt Island , it should be a seamless process. Its exactly the conveniences you expect and 1 reason to use a national pharmacy. Right? Nooope.
Cheri, was very tough regarding the class II meds. I had previously encouraged my friend to use Walgreens vs the pharmacy he'd been using for years. She was just as tough on him. Dr. or no Dr. she just kept the same proticol. We were actually going to go change to his longstanding pharmacy. He said Walgreens may be a few dollars less but my time is worth a whole whole lot more.
My 5 star rating is in part due to Cheri's indiscriminate application of standards to everyone. Until, that Walgreens has familiarized itself with each patient, don't think for a second, you're gonna fly into their facilities and fill those rigidly scrutinized scripts.
However; the 5 star rating is in large part for her ability to " keep us as customers " until she had familiarized herself with our medical history over several months. She accomplished this with her explanation, her professionalism and her overall congenial demeanor. So, kudos to Ms. Cheri. ((I do hope that's her name--young pretty girl-highlights in hair?) I corrected the name. .it us Cheri.
We have to further include the others who have assisted us. Special notes to the guy who assisted us on or near the 4th of July and the other female pharmacist who has been all but closed when we arrived for a pick up and she happily assisted.
If chosing where to go for your medicinal needs in Merritt Island -I have to recommend this Walgreens on Courtnay Parkway causeway.
*This rating EXCLUDES 1 very young "fill-in" male pharmacist who refused to fill two scripts -as he was evidently so new out of school, he must know more than the prescribing physician or the physician taking the medication. He looked, he judged without looking at his pharmacy medication dispensing history and categorically refused to fill either script. That individual gets a minus 4 rating for his greater-than-thou-attitude, failure to call someone or check the records mixed with his arrogance.(being real cocky). One day he'll grow up.
Hopefully he'll "grow" eleswhere. HE WOULD lose a great deal of the business Walgreen's, Cheri & the others have spent years to develop. read more
