I used to be very happy with CVS. It was close by and everyone was very helpful and the store was…read morewell run. But the problem is not local. It is the fact that CVS is not capable of handling. Its customers needs anywhere in the country. I used to get all my prescriptions at my local CVS. But three years ago, CVS could no longer provide Vyvanse because it became generic and hard to acquire. I had to rely on Walmart to get it. So, let's put this into basic terms. CVS, the largest pharmacy company in the United States, could not acquire a drug, while our largest retailer could. CVS Pharmacy was failing up against the company whose specialty was not pharmaceuticals. Nonetheless, I left my other prescriptions at CVS. Today, I thought I would call CVS and find out if the largest pharmacy in the nation could now get access to having Vyvanse for its customers again. When I called CVS, I was put through a voicemail hell unlike anything I've ever encountered with any public business. It kept asking me if I was a doctor. Before it would continue, it kept asking for my birthday. It would not accept a birthday expressed as a number (like 03/22/64) but it did not tell you that. Why do they need the birthday of any person calling simply calling to make an inquiry? So, they're not going to help anyone who's not already registered with a birthday at their pharmacy? After three tries, I finally stated the date. And then it wanted to know if I wanted vaccines or to talk to general services. I had to go through three rounds of rejecting that before being given a chance to ask for the pharmacy. And I was still asked what I wanted after I had that I needed to talk to the pharmacy. Finally, the only option I was offered was to leave a voicemail and be called back by the pharmacy at their convenience. By this point, I was so angry that I left my thoughts with them. I am removing all of my prescription prescriptions from CVS. The fact that Walmart could acquire Vyvanse for three years while CVS could not indicates to me that they are not an entity to be taken seriously. CVS has expressed to their customsers that they do not want dialogue with us, and they have made it impossible to talk to the pharmacy or make an inquiry. Meanwhile, I can talk to the pharmacy at Walmart. Throw in that they've closed their pharmacies for lunnch now, and you have an inaccessible business. I've had enough. So, they can print their book length receipts for someone else. I am done!

My wife has fond memories of the soda fountain in St. Marys WV so we check them out anytime we see one. Griffith and Feil did not disappoint. The young staff were friendly and told us all about the history. We both had Monte Cristo Sandwiches which were prepared perfectly, very tasty. Service was quick. The only thing that would have made it perfect was if the young people working behind the counter had 1950's era starched white uniforms :-).

I spent roughly 20 minutes looking through all their Marshall U merchandise. I found the cutest tank top dress (only one there tucked behind the clothes rack). And bonus, it rang up $10 off at the register. I also purchased a necklace, earrings, bracelet, a clear bag, bottle koozie and face stickers. I also found two cute and durable toys for my puppy boy Simba. And they were less than $10 each. Can't wait to see what items I'll find my next trip home!

Coming back South on I-79 to Charleston and then onto I-77 for the final leg, it was time to stop for lunch. Not wanting to endure the agony of inflated prices on a controlled entry and exit road, I was determined to avoid this if possible. Pulled off I-77 South just before the Turnpike and had lunch at Tudor's Biscuit World which was pretty good and very filing. As I was leaving, there was a Kroger's across the parking lot. I wanted some bottled water so I drove over to pick up some. Different layout than I am used to put on asking, staff directed me to exactly where I need to go. While more that I actually needed, picked up a 24 pack at very nice price. Store is well stocked and prices are good. Very clean store and easy on and easy off I-77.
