My 4 stars are mostly related to my pick up experience at the pharmacy. I paid for my medication on the app in order to pick up my items via the express line. I got in line waiting patiently because they were slammed inside and at the drive thru and all you saw was Karla running around. She was doing a great job at juggling all the customers which is why I was patient. I was passed over 3 times before one of the pharmacists walked over to help ease the line, he completely overlooked me and helped someone else. I still waited because, hey I'm short and maybe he didn't see me. Then when he's done he proceeds to turn around and ask the other girl if the people at the drive thru had been helped. At that point I get bothered and I say " can anyone help me? I paid already via express" he proceeds to say " this guy was first give us a chance . Which was not true. So I said " Actually, I was here before him".. anywho, Karla was wonderful and took care of me with a smile but to me, the poor girl was the only one running around doing actual work. The other cashier was just standing around staring off.. not very helpful at all. More like dead weight. The other thing is that my aunt tried to use a Coupon we got when we shopped earlier which wasn't very clear that it was only for certain type of pick up orders... orders you make online through them or via FedEx but orders for pick up for meds don't apply. Since the coupon wasn't granted and was a bit confusing. For our hassle the manager Frank Siles was very nice and offered his employee's discount and also explained to us how the coupon can be used. I have finally found a drugstore I can call my own. I was a faithful customer for 7 years at CVS until an incident that left me without my medication I needed, my self worth discouraged and my loyalty discarded. I sheepishly went to walgreens feeling that because of the late hours I would not get my medication. I shuffled in, eyes down toward the pharmacy. When I arrived to the window I was immediately greeted with a big smile from the pharmacist. She listened to my WHOLE story and said no problem that she could help me with everything. By now it was midnight and she said she can have my medication in a few minutes. I asked if it was difficult to switch my pharmacy and she said no problem. She then suggested that I get on the automated reminder and refill list. I fully agreed. I have now for months been with Walgreen and didn't think my experience could get any better, they become one of the first companies to accept Apple Pay. That is where all I have to do is point my Iphone and touch my thumbprint sensor on the phone and the payment is taken from the credit card on my phone. No more carrying a fat wallet in my back pocket causing hip problem. Guess who refuses to do Apple Pay, CVS pharmacy of course. lol Finally, I am shopping at 1 am ( the store is 24 hrs) and this employee is stocking shelves, sees me as I walk by and says hi. I say Hi, walk by entranced in my shopping, then stop in my tracks, That was a very sincere greeting, but there is something familiar about him. I go back and have small chit chat and find out that his heritage is Indonesian as well as mine, that is the first Indonesian I met in Homestead fl. We had a lovely talk about our experiences in this country and how grateful we are with all the opportunities we have in this country. I found what I needed and left feeling like I had gained a distant family member. I look forward to having an excuse to go to this store! read more

do not go to this pharmacy. this walgreens will literally treat you like you're a criminal if your doctor electronically sends a prescription for anything for pain. they will ignore the filling of your prescription from your doctor until you call them, waiting on hold sometimes for almost an hour!!! (not kidding one bit). they are "closed until further notice" at least 4 times a year! they do not have a lot of medications in stock, and instead of letting the customer know this, they will just sit on the prescription and/or refill (instead of informing you that you may want to go to another pharmacy if you need your heart medicine or other medicine. if i could give them "zero stars," i would! do not go to this pharmacy. save your time and your money. read more

the Pharmacy team is the best here. They make sure that you get your medicine as fast as possible and if there is any delay or problem they will get in touch with you and in a friendly manner. They seem understaffed not because they don't do the work because they do. They are answering phones dealing with patients in front of them dealing with the drive-thru and often dealing with everything else whereas other pharmacies don't even answer the phone. I think there's a problem with Walgreens paying their employees enough and expecting too much possibly out of them at once . That may be why you have a shortage of Pharmacy workers . I just want to say thank you to them because they don't get much praise . read more

This Walgreens isn't bad. Rather large Walgreens for my area. Has a fairly large area to buy cold drinks from. Came here in order to get hurricane supplies for Irma because you could not find water anywhere in the area. Thankfully this place had it and I was able to score the necessary water I needed for myself and my family. Besides that the store seems to be a bit older than the other Walgreens in the area. Also found the store to be a bit in disarray...then again it could have been due to the storm. read more

After waiting minutes in line at the photo dept. the clerk at the front register called over the speaker for a clerk to go to the photo dept. 3 TIMES! After waiting 17 minutes, a kid with a pony-tail walked out to the first person in line with no apology (oh sorry for the wait, I'll be right with you) and looked like he just woke up from his nap with no desire to help all 3 customers waiting in line. Running out of time, I walked out and called to speak with the manager, I was on hold twice and then a woman took down my name and number and said the manager will call me back and he never did. I have been going to this walgreens for years. And ive never really had a problem. Its always busy . Line are always long. Especially in the pharmacy. And my sons pediatrician doesn't go with this walgreens anymore because of medicaid fraud. The only bad thing i can say is i was recently there getting my son just a little pack of gum. There was about 5 or 6 of us in the line... We were all standing there waiting for a few minutes. The cashier was there but she was talking on her personal phone not taking any customers while she had a line there. She was giggling and laughing and when she finally got off her phone she checked out the person in front of me and told her "Sorry that was my Dr and i have an surgery next week and these things just need to get done." .... Ummm excuse me ? Wtf. And this woman has worker here for YEARS. She should know better. Im sure if her manager saw that he woudnt like it! read more

I write this based only on the pharmacy department. I've had many more bad than pleasant experiences there. It has been so bad I went to their mail fulfillment, which has it's own problem., just so I didn't have to deal with those people. Only one woman there seems to know what is going on, and unfortunately, she doesn't often seem to work when I visit. Often they blame the "system", but I believe it is incompetence of some employees. read more
