When I gave birth to my daughter I was lucky enough to have family who helped us take care of her. Once COVID hit I was not sure how I felt about putting my daughter in school but knew that she needed interaction with other children due to how shy she was and how upset she would get when my husband or I would go to work. Once my husband and I walked into Smith Mills Preschool we knew in that moment that they would be the ones who we trusted with our daughter. All the staff at this school are AMAZING and make you and your child truly feel welcome and at home. Once being enrolled my daughter has blossomed from a shy little girl holding my leg each morning to giving me a kiss and not noticing I'm gone at drop off. This shows me completely that my daughter feels safe and loved here. At pickup time she talks the whole way home about her friends, teachers and activities. It just warms my heart how loving, compassionate and open armed this whole school is. I hope each and every person who has come into contact with my daughter knows how truly grateful we are to them for taking care and treating our daughter like one of their own. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

She looks forward to school every single day. She comes home every single day with something she has learned and is proud of. The teachers send a weekly newsletter telling you what they've done in the class all week so you can feel connected to what is happening with your child at school. The director and all the staff work very hard for organization, communication, and ensuring saftey. They are extremly responsive and accomidating as well as understanding how difficult it can be for the parents when looking at daycare/pre-k. Thus far there are absolutely no downsides. I am so happy they have this program availble.

The owner is very caring and accommodating. She even gave my child a ride home once when I couldn't make it in time. I just love this place!!

What a find in Wood's Hole?! The whole area is a non profit oceanographic research hive of…read moreactivity. It's so cool. We found this museum on school road. It's free to walk through it with donation boxes available. They have a cute shop with gifts and trinkets for kids. They have a lot of research information on the titanic with videos and artifacts on display. It's fascinating. They also have information on exploratory doves that the Institute performs. It's really interesting and so much fun for kids. Don't miss.

My teens and toddlers have had the same teachers and they are just as engaged and invested now as they were then! The staff is nurturing, accommodating, and safety-focused. The communication and photos parents receive throughout the day help you feel connected to what your children are experiencing each day. The extracurriculars like science and music, the established curriculum, and the visiting community members, from fire fighters to scientists keep learning fun and relatable. It's a good group of families, a diverse student population and reminds you of a traditional family school. We currently have three children enrolled and made a significant financial investment to do so, but I can tell you I never worry about my children's safety, if they are actively engaged in learning, and if their needs are going to met. There's no screen time or babysitting happening at West Parish. There are rich opportunities for learning, building social emotional skills and developing relationships at West Parish everyday! It's also convenient and right off the highway. If I had to share something negative, so you know this review is real, it would be that it would be nice if there was a covered walkway to the door from the parking lot because getting three kids and three backpacks out in the rain is no fun, though there's always someone willing to lend a helping hand.
