We had some friends come to play in the pool, and while they charge a little bit for it, it's a pittance to get some swimming in when it's 26 degrees outside! The pool is good sized, and they have a changing/restroom area for outside guests. They also have a good-sized hot tub. All-in-all, this is my new go-to place to stay when we're in town.

The room was clean, comfortable and updated with a view out the back. We stayed in the connected rooms so it was like a motel but they also had separate cottages behind that to stay in. The family that runs it must live near one end where you can see piles of stuff all over. I admit that looked really bad so i was afraid of what the room would be like and my wife and I enjoyed our stay there. We would book another room there, no problem. It was also affordable. I talked to the manager about it who told me and my family not to come back because we complained about the filthy room. We have asthma in my family and being around mold is dangerous. Then they leave an envelope in the room encouraging to leave the cleaners a tip now. DO NOT GO HERE! Best western might cost more money but at least it's clean.

Unfortunately, the hot tub was not filled on our stay. They have a lot of table and chairs to sit around the pool area. This location is across the street from Hinckley casino if you like to gamble it's a short walk. The casino also has 21 and older swimming at night! The hotel room is average. I did sleep well. I like how they have a mini fridge & microwave in the room. There is no breakfast. They do have a coffee pot in the room. Their showers work well. We pre-booked on Expedia for about $85 and when I asked the hotel guy how much the average room is he said if we just walked in off the street it could be as much as $400 if there's an event going on!

Some friends were there for dinner and we met them for a drink before. The host kept coming back to us and asking us if we were a certain group, even after saying no multiple times. Oddly enough, before they were seated they were told by the bartender that it would be impossible to order appetizers at the bar and they had to wait until they were seated. Wouldn't even allow them to be ordered and paid for at the bar, which I found a bit strange. I have not been here on a late night and maybe they do bands or dances or something like that which would explain the open/wasted space inside. Lastly, they are a resort and it appears that they prefer resort traffic over the local or local cabin traffic.
