The room was clean, comfortable and updated with a view out the back. We stayed in the connected rooms so it was like a motel but they also had separate cottages behind that to stay in. The family that runs it must live near one end where you can see piles of stuff all over. I admit that looked really bad so i was afraid of what the room would be like and my wife and I enjoyed our stay there. We would book another room there, no problem. It was also affordable. This location is across the street from Hinckley casino if you like to gamble it's a short walk. The casino also has 21 and older swimming at night! The hotel room is average. I did sleep well. I like how they have a mini fridge & microwave in the room. There is no breakfast. They do have a coffee pot in the room. Their showers work well. We pre-booked on Expedia for about $85 and when I asked the hotel guy how much the average room is he said if we just walked in off the street it could be as much as $400 if there's an event going on!

Wouldn't even allow them to be ordered and paid for at the bar, which I found a bit strange. I have not been here on a late night and maybe they do bands or dances or something like that which would explain the open/wasted space inside. Lastly, they are a resort and it appears that they prefer resort traffic over the local or local cabin traffic.

Stayed in a different cabin each trip, and both the cabins were modern and clean. The staff is also outstanding, and the owners, John and Maria, made us feel at home on all of our trips. The food at the lodge/restaurant is also outstanding. May seem a bit pricey, but, for the quality of the food and the portions you get, it's definitely worth the price! In August, we also rented a pontoon from the resort. Was reasonably priced for the day and had a blast on it. If you haven't stayed here yet, or are a local who has yet to try the restaurant, please do so! Absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back in 2018 for a trip or two! And for us, living 7 hours away near Chicago, it's definitely worth the drive as well for a long weekend.
