Opening in the summer of 2016, this branch of Little Waitrose at South Bank Tower is just under three years old, but the store still feels pretty modern inside, part of the Little Waitrose brand which are the convenience style stores from Waitrose, which are mainly located in London.
There is some seating just outside the store where you could potentially sit and eat your lunch on a nice day, or drink your coffee, the coffee here like any Waitrose store is free for My Waitrose loyalty members (limited one per day per customer if you make a purchase at one store only), they did have some nice Waitrose own branded teabags, compared to the cheap, loose ones which are kind of disgusting, which they have at other stores.
The selection around the store was average for a store of its' size, it was one of the better convinaicne style stores in the area for service and selection, surely beating the Co-op and Sainsbury's Local stores nearby.
The staff seemed more concerned about being in their own little world doing their own thing, I noticed one staff member who was blocking off part of the store, unloading in their to go section, I did visit just after the lunchtime and rush hour rush so I presume this was one of the quieter times for the store, but she didn't offer any assistance or to move while I looked at the section of food she was covering. - Surely this could be done after the store closes as it didn't look too depleted?
One of the best stores of its' kind in the area, not without its' flaws with staff issues, pretty much average. 3* read more
