We came back when the Apple & Pumpkin Fest was. Slightly disorganized and false advertising. We had to park about half mile down the road and walk over. There was a line to pick apples and pumpkins at the orchard, but that line supposedly was a 2 hour wait. Ridiculous. So, we got in line for the corn maze/ petting zoo. The ride itself wasn't bad, but was far away from the farm (so there was no chance of walking back). Probably the best chili in North America. And they roast it well. They have four levels of heat: mild, medium, hot, and extra hot.

What most foreigners don't know is that there is also a good cafe here. After a 7 mile trek along dangerous snake and venomous mosquito canal trails....suffering exhaustion and fatigue, we landed safely at Wagner Farms. We ordered the Green Chili Burger and Ice Teas. This burger was perfectly cooked deliciousness. One of the simplest best burgers. Each bite sang a nice chilli song with burger juiciness. The Ice Tea did its job well. We picked up a few bags of green chili to take home. Most wait for a Farmers market Day/location, not realising that it's "Farmers Market" most every day at Wagner Farms. Took the kids to the pumpkin patch and corn maze today after school. They charge a hefty price to get in and wander around the grounds. The corn maze was good and we picked several ears of corn, only to be told at checkout that it is not for human consumption, but to be dried out and used for decoration. That is fine, but when we got home and opened the husks up they were half eaten away by happy, fat, hungry worms that were busy munching away the corn kernels. Yuk! There were a variety of peppers to pick and nothing left to pick from the dried out zucchini patch. There were some small green tomatoes, not ripe yet to be picked. The kids liked feeding the alpaca, goats, and cow. They could pet them throw the fence. Then there is the pumpkin patch. They all have been harvested and put in groupings to chose the perfect one. We will wait until closer to Halloween to carve, so they will not rot. The prices were reasonable up to $20 for their largest, which was not that big. We got some of their pumpkin butter and apricot preserves to enjoy later in. It was a good family time. Warning! Do not buy any corn! read more

There is one beloved crop that has us New Mexicans twitching for a fix, waiting on tip toe for announcement of it's arrival, and singing from the rooftops the moment it hits the streets...yes, we are very zealous about said crop, and this is most certainly one of the most magical times of year in the Land of Enchantment ... an intoxicating aroma fills the streets as we wait in lines for our green chile to be roasted to perfection. We welcome the burning sensation in our fingertips as we peel and chop and dice our little hearts out to package ever so neatly our newly acquired high grade stash. From Hatch to Chimayo, and everywhere in between, one can purchase fresh chile by the pound, the bushel, or the sack. My favorite place to score the goods is Wagner Farms. The drive through Corrales is always so charming. The staff at Wagners are warm and friendly...Bring cash, no credit cards accepted, although there is an atm machine in the back corner of the store, and save a few bucks to tip the chile roasters, they work their tails off cranking out batch after batch of chile, usually 6 roasters going at once in 85-95 degree weather and the heat of those roasters is brutal. Our first visit and it was a great experience. (We did go during the week, avoiding the weekend crowds) Had to post cause I read others didn't have the same. A bunch of people on NM recipe group said this was the place. I even asked a produce guy at Walmart, who said everyone he know comes here. With all that we decided to give Wagner's a try. Besides green chile we picked up sweet smelling peaches, lovely tomatoes, cantaloupe and watermelon. Woman behind the register was very friendly and informative. We had our sack of chile roasted by a young man with a great sunny attitude. All in all the staff made for an enjoyable time. Now to go bag our green treasure (Was well warned cash only. It's chile harvest time in New Mexico and this year I've made two trips to Wagner Farms to get a bushel of chile roasted. It's a pretty ride through Corrales before arriving at the farmer's market. Once there you can pick up fresh corn, cantaloupe, and other fresh produce. Of course the reason for my annual trip here is the green chile. Just grab a basket full of your favorite heat level, and then watch them roast it for you. This year we got a bushel of Big Jim (medium heat) and then went back the next day for the Extra Hot variety. Nothing compares to the smell of fresh roasted green chile on the drive home! While you're there, you can try something from the cafe or pick up a chile ristra to add a little New Mexican flare to your home. read more

This is from my last visit. Vegetables were "meh" and the staff there are extremely rude. I watched the women behind the counter act like they didn't care about the people standing in front of them nor did they want to help anyone. I put my corn down and left. if I could give negative stars for this establishment I would. The customer service sucks. The employees are rude. They don't accept credit cards or debit cards and they don't have any signs up stating that until you have made your selections then there is a very small sign at the register. At which point the only option is to use the ATM that they have in the back of the store which charges $2.50 + what ever your banking institution charges. So what should have been $22.00 now cost me $24.50 which they then rounded up to $25.00. Now don't get me wrong I love supporting local small businesses. But when the local small businesses are starting to take it vantage of both the "coin shortage" and the COVID-19 I think it's a little ridiculous. read more

I will NEVER go back there after how you treated her, talked to her like she was trash, threw her ticket for her prepaid Chile back in her face like it wasn't any good to you all because she wanted to exchange her ticket for red Chile instead of green AND SHE WAS WILLING TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE!!! Get real!? How old are you? And what type of business are you running!? You just turned down a customer (whom is well known in the Albuquerque community) and we will spread the word, starting with this review and many to follow on other websites. My friends and family wasted $390 on purchasing 13 bushels of Chile from your farm this year and I assure you, none of us will waste our time and money on your products EVER AGAIN! As a native New Mexican - let me tell you...this is the go to place for green and red chile! We found this place a couple of years ago and can't stay away. You know that it is fall in New Mexico when you smell the green chile roasting as your drive through Corrales. We find that the prices are reasonable (we would pay a lot more because the chile is so good) and they roast it for you on the spot (an extra $3 charge). The produce is fresh and really tasty (the peaches are the best). The cafe is delish - highly recommend the burritos - very reasonably priced. Customer service is the area where Wagner's is lacking - you don't consistently get excellent/attentive service, but it is overall good. The guys roasting the chile are always friendly and I am glad to tip. During my most recent visit (last month) the clerk was far more interested in talking with her co-worker, than completing my transaction...oh well, I come for the chile, not the conversation. Oh yeah, don't forget to bring cash - they have an ATM onsite, but do not accept credit cards. So, when fall rolls around, bring some $20 bills and go get some of the best green chile you will ever have - in your life - no lie! read more

If you grow green chili in New Mexico and roast it I will be their! They have all varties of green chili heat and you can mix and match heat levels. I also purchased some apples and green beans that are very tastey. They also offer many other veggies and fruits. If you know me, you know I hate waxy apples. Wagners does not wax!!! Love this place! As a Corrales native, I practically grew up here. You know it's time to go to Wagner's when the smell of roasted green chili is in the air! This place has a great selection of local produce and pumpkins in the fall. The best time to go is late September-October. Visited Wagner Farms today. The cantaloupes smelled awful. The bin was filled with over ripe melons. Lots of bugs flying over fruit and veggies. Poor selection and quality. Old apples with lots of bruises in bins. Shame on them for selling such low quality items. The cucumbers were okay. Purchased corn at the 8th street Grower's Market. The corn was wormy as well as had a bunch of black bugs. Found a few ears that looked good enough. The cooked corn was gummy, starchy, and tasteless. The chickens loved the corn. We will give the remaining ears to them tonight. read more

This is the second time here over a large span of time. Its not handicap accessible at all, extremely over priced and the staff is not friendly. The time spent here was a waste. Extremely underwhelming green chile this year (2019). I bought "hot" green chile from Wagner's in September. Perhaps they ran out of hot and put mild and tasteless in it's place. I have never thought about throwing out green chile that I put in quart bags and put in my freezer, but it is not worth the space in my frig, honestly. It's a shame, because I bought green chile there a few years ago and it was excellent, which is why I went back there. No more. I am going to buy some frozen chopped green chile from the Frontier and that is going to take it's place in my freezer. read more

I love going to Wagner Farms. They have a small selection of crops but still it's great. The green chili they sell are at different levels of heat and they will roast the chili as well. I called Wagner Farms on a Wednesday to see if they had pickling cucumbers-the lady said they would be picking on Thurs. and would be available Fri / Sat. We drove to Wagner on Sat. and couldn't find any -I asked the two people at the check out counter (adults) where the pickling cucumbers were-they replied we don't have any. I told them about my conversation and they said-we don't have any. No offer to find out if they would get any or if so when. We drove 60 miles round trip for nothing, nada, zilch. I will not go back or call them again. I ended up getting from the Nob Hill Co-Op. Paid a pretty penny-but I got my pickling cucumbers. Plus the people were nice. read more

We decided to go to Wagners Farms, after the Corrales Farmers Market, to get breakfast. Big mistake! The service was horrible. 3 teenaged girls more interested in visiting with each other and playing on their phones, than cleaning the tables, etc. When we finally were able to get the attention of one the ladies, we asked to have a table cleaned. She proceeded to go to the kitchen and grab a soaking wet and musty-smelling rag and wipe the table. It left the table sopping wet, and she walked away. We then asked if we could get flatware for our table, and she pointed to where we could pick it up and went back to her phone. I'm pretty sure the owners would disapprove with the level of service these girls afford their customers. As for the food, we were very disappointed. The red chile sauce was watery and had no flavor.....the cook didn't season it. Potatoes were cold. Just an all-around horrible meal. We will never be back. Too many other places in Corrales for breakfast.....Las Ristras, Hannah & Nates and Indigo Crow.....skip this place. YUCK! read more

This is my favorite family fall fun place! The corn maze is always so much fun. I've been taking my kids here for years. Plus the location is gorgeous and views can't be beat!
