New to the area, brought my bulldog and all her records here. Service seemed good first couple…read morevisits and then it all went south from there. My bulldog is 10 years old, she has bilateral hip dysplasia and arthritis. Old vet (where we came from, Illinois) had her on an 4 week injectable series of an arthritic medicine. It had been about a year by the time it no longer was working. So I asked LaFollette veterinarian services if we could do another series for her they said sure. I was charged double what I paid for it back in Illinois. What was 160.00 in Illinois, cost me over 300.00 at this facility. I asked if I could bring her in for her injections if I paid for the medicine upfront. They said yes. I asked if there was an injection fee, they went back to check, and they told me no. No injection fee. So I agreed to pay the doubled price of the meds. Came back for her 2nd dose, no problems. Came for her 3rd dose, no problems. Came for 4th and all of a sudden, that will be 10.00 dollars. I asked for what? They said the injection fee. Then an older lady with shorter lighter hair and glasses comes out through the back area and is standing there asking if there was an issue. I said this is our 4th injection and I was told no injection fees when I purchased the medicine. The lady stands there and says you were told wrong. It's 10 dollars. I said I haven't cash on me, this is unexpected and how can you say one thing and then change it part way thru? That is bad business. She said we charge the 10 dollars for the cost of the syringes. Then, she got snappy with me and said, most people just do the injections at home themselves. I responded and said, yes, I've done them myself before, but I'm not comfortable doing them myself, she proceeded to say you can purchase syringes from us to continue her series. I'm like wait... what? You charged me twice as much for the meds and now you want more money for syringes to administer the meds? How much for the syringes? 40 dollars. I laughed at her. I said I have my own syringes at home, left over from her last series that my vet in Illinois gave me at no cost. If I bring my own syringes can the tech inject it for me. She laughed and said sure! It is 45 dollars for a vet tech appointment. I paid the 10 dollars and since I didn't have cash I also got charged a fee in addition for using my debit card, and walked out. Dr. Max followed me out that back door and asked if everything was OK. I said no, I told him the story and he said oh, well that's out of my hands. Then on another occasion I took my dog for a grooming visit when I picked her up, she had shedding hair all over her and her ears were still dirty. They apparently expressed her glands after bathing her and never wiped her bottom. She seemed very sad and out of sorts when I picked her up. I won't return. Going to find a different vet for my baby girl. Its too bad, because the Dr. seemed very nice and knowledgeable. However, there business practices and greed have ruined the whole experience for us.

My daughter in law, a long term client of this practice, brought in a stray cat she was feeding and…read morecaring for yesterday to be treated, ultimately euthanized. She was told that she was approved for a payment plan by a staff member prior to obtaining services. She conditionally approved treatment and an estimate based upon this approval. Ultimately the charge was $700 to diagnose and euthanize a stray cat. After services were rendered a down payment was requested by the clinic. Since she was not told about this down payment she did not bring enough cash for the payment. When told this she was told that she could not leave until they were paid because they could not un kill her cat. This kind of reaction to a woman who just euthanized her cat is unacceptable. I went in this morning to complain. As a retired businessman, I knew that this may be a rough topic. I started with praise for the veterinarian and vet tech who helped her then complained with how she was spoken to. I did not raise my voice nor did I threaten them in any way. I was promptly asked to leave and they called the police. The woman I spoke with identified herself as the manager and refused to give me her name. I simply asked so I knew who I was speaking with. I left the building and waited in the parking lot for the police to arrive. I have been officially trespassed for calmly lodging a complaint and requesting that they destroy my records as I have been a client since I moved to Tennessee 2 1/2 years ago. The vet here is fantastic and I am sorry to lose him but I cannot accept the customer service the clinic's manager exhibited. Warning to anyone who utilizes LaFollette Veterinary Services: If you have an issue with them it will not be addressed, you will be trespassed from their location. I will be lodging a formal complaint against this clinic with the Tennessee Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

I found it necessary to get creative with some logistical plans and unfortunately sending a clone of myself to get things done wasn't an option. That's where Roy came in! We are excited to host thanksgiving dinner in our TN home, however, we are going to be arriving the night before . The thought of flying across the country with our dog and my mom, having a 2.5 hour drive from Nashville to Knoxville AND then doing all the shopping for the meal, the food prep ect....just really sounded like ALOT! I discussed my idea for a plan with Roy about 2 weeks in advance. I placed an online pick up order for groceries and the Sunday before Thanksgiving Roy picked up the order , drove it 45 min away to our home , put the perishables in the fridge and arranged the pantry items on the counter. It feels so good to know we are going to arrive with that big task already taken care of. Roy and I chatted on the phone as well as text and through those communication I felt really good about him being a nice, intelligent and dependable guy. The cost of his service was IMO reasonable and fair. I've always been a fan of creative entrepreneurs and I hope this review helps send Roy some more business. If I could give him 6 stars I would!
