'Our dog was tragically killed by a car a couple days ago at a intersection near the Wagabonz Pet Store. The staff came out to help out my wife and I and comfort us in a tragic time. Since moving to the island a year ago Wagabonz has become our doggy spa place. We just had a girls' spa day for both our girls and it was perfect! i truly love this place. our Chloe is a new rescue from the Humaine Society. She is still a bit nervous about our leaving her. She seems relaxed and happy when we pick her up. plus, the grooming is spectacular. we know she is very proud of how she looks by the way she prances out the door. We brought a new member of our family in for a grooming. This one year old shepherd collie mix showed up on our back porch emaciated and matted about six weeks ago. After shots and some time to get her feet under her it was time to find a groomer who would understand she was going to need a lot of patience to get her coat, teeth and nails all healthy again. We visited three businesses today and it was the clear this was the place for us. We brought Abbi in for a visit to their bakery and a look around and they squeezed us in the same day. She had clearly been through a lot before she came to us and I was worried about how she'd do being left in a strange place without us, but the atmosphere was calm and Elaina, one of their groomers took SUCH good care of her. Abbi, pranced out afterwards so pretty with a new bandana and an extra treat. We will definitely be back! She looks great and more importantly it didn't stress her out the way I had imagined it might. The staff there gave us some good advice on meeting some of her other needs and we were able to find some other harder to find items we haven't seen at the box stores. I'm a big fan of supporting small businesses. If you need a groomer and or a pet store and bakery this is definitely the place for you! read more

It's a good grooming salon Scott the owner is amazing with his job and this time that we went in it was the worst first time experience. We recently went in for grooming for all 3 of our shitzu's and were overcharged a $45 extra fee. The groomers excuse was because she had to 'sanitize' her scissors. The groomer saw our dogs hair and we had already picked out the level we wanted the hair cut so I don't see why we were overcharged we never get a extra fee unless it was kept as HER tip. If anything we also get sent a message or a call or we ourselves send a message like we always do before heading in but this time she didn't contact us or let us know about the extra fee. Preferably we always go with Scott so they can get groomed because he's amazing with our babies but unfortunately he wasn't available and sadly we had to make the choice of going with another groomer. read more

I when I made the appointment I specifically asked for a bath for my new puppy, with a brush and trim, when we picked up Bacon Bit they had shaved off his entire coat!! He is a Pomeranian and he might not ever fully regrow his coat! It could take up to a year! He had some mats, that we knew about but people should know before they take their dogs to a place like this, they didn't call us or inform us that they were shaving our dogs coat off be warned! Their explanation was we couldn't brush the mats so we shaved off his entire coat. I can see his skin in spots that now has no hair at all! read more

Custom Dog Cake was incorrect. Before starting this post I want to say that this is my favorite dog stop to make when we come to Galveston. Everyone is very friendly and my little Yorkie loves their treats. Now this year we were going to be there for her birthday and decided to do a cake. The cake looked rushed it did not have the 3 year old bones on the sides of it. This was all very disappointing especially for a nearly 30 dollar cake for a dog. Now she is treated like a little person but this was honestly a very bad experience for her custom cake. read more

I couldn't get my dog(mini poodle) to his normal groomer(who always does an AMAZING job) and the lady I used didn't really give my dog the haircut I expected. I showed her pictures of him in the EXACT haircut I wanted from the past. I would have been okay with the 'creative freedom' if there weren't so many sloppy mistakes- like multiple very noticeable missed patches of hair, bad shaping/scissoring, and leaving a mat in his tail. I even called when I noticed she didn't shave it(we had talked specifically about the tail mat when I dropped him off) and she told me that she did her best to brush it out. This made me even more confused on why she would brush and trim around the mat and decide to leave it. She obviously wasn't afraid to shave him considering I asked her to keep the rest of his coat long and now I can see his skin. To top it all off, Archie cowered away from her when she tried to pet him after it was all done and acted timid for hours after- refusing to play or go outside. She offered to fix the mistakes after talking on the phone with her an hour later when I noticed the tail. But honestly I think I would rather learn to do it myself than take him back to that groomer. This was a low quality, sloppy groom that definitely stressed him out a lot. She also very clearly did not blow dry him(his hair was curly from an air dry). His nails were still long. I also had to retrimmed the ears myself because of uneven missed spots. I had to go to a different groomer and pay a second time- not at Wagabonz- to get him properly shaped. I would give that groom 1 Star, but I love the store and I think that they have great products! read more

We went to Galveston for a day trip with our pup. We went to Wagabonz to get our pup treats after having lunch at a nearby restaurant. I am so glad, that this is on the strand and within close proximity to other cafes and shops. They had bake goodies, cold treats and some pet supplies. I didn't even know this place was here until I inquired on a Facebook forum about local dog bakeries and received tons of recommendations for this one. I spoke to the owner before I even visited and he told me all about their grooming salon/services as well. My dog's birthday isn't until June (I'm just very excited and prepared haha), but decided to take him for a spa day this past week. This wonderful spot is so much better than I even expected! I didn't realize it was also a store. They have so much great stuff! The prices are very reasonable (comparable to all other pet stores), and a fabulous selection. We checked in and they took him right in. It only took a couple hours. When he came over to me at pickup time, I could already smell his amazing clean scent before I scooped him up! He is so super soft and all clean. She did an awesome job! It was his first grooming experience and it certainly won't be his last here. They even gave him a complimentary little cupcake to take home and a cute bandana. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. This is our new favorite place for sure! read more
