There are three types of accommodation, we usually stick with the basic and I think it's sufficient. The owner introduces himself to you and lets you walk around the facility if you want to check it out. Also, they screen dogs for friendliness or aggression, that way they know whether to separate the aggressive dogs from group play during their stay. They are also great with grooming too. I think Amanda is the one who grooms my dog. Previously, I had gone to a place where my dog was there ALL DAY. At Pampered Pet, it is about 3 hours.

I have a Maltese who suffers from extreme separation anxiety and stresses out at the drop of a hat. Kelli, the owner, invited me to step into the truck with my dog, Macie. Watching Kelli work with Macie was so reassuring. She was very gentle and calming with my dog. I was soon able to step out of the truck and leave Kelli to her work. When the job was done, the grooming was beautiful. The dog's fur was expertly cut and combed and in addition, Kelli clipped Macie's nails and brushed her teeth. All of this was done with utmost care and kindness. My dog showed no signs of stress or anxiety. The whole experience was delightful. The convenience of a groom at home service is a great idea. Add to it the care and kindness Kelli offers and you have the perfect business. I can honestly and confidently recommend Loving Touch Mobile Dog Grooming, which most definitely lives up to its name.

I have a wonderful little puppy and since he has been struggling with anxiety I just could not…read morebring myself to take him to a typical grooming salon where they throw him in a crate and turn a blow dryer on him . No way! Being one of those dog breeds mixed with a poodle, I've been watching him waiting to see how his coat will turn out. All of a sudden his coat was too long and started to really mat up even though I've been routinely brushing and gently combing down to the skin. So I started searching on-line for a mobile groomer. I started calling the groomers closest to me spiraling out and left messages on multiple phones. Not one even called me back! It was disheartening. I began watching grooming videos on YouTube. Maybe I could buy a electric razor and just do it myself! I've got to tell you, my puppy doesn't even take me seriously when I brush him, he thinks it is a big game. I really couldn't see myself with a electric cutting tool in my hand and not hurting him! Then one day I called Jackson, NJ. Two towns over. I called Loving Touch Mobile Dog Groomer and left a message. Kelli called me back the same evening, late, after she got home from a long day grooming. She right away explained I was a bit out of her range and she was booked for quite a few weeks, but if I wanted to wait she would come out to me. I felt so relieved and of course I waited. Then a couple of days before she came one of the other groomers I had previously called left me a message that she had a cancellation the next day - the nerve, she never originally called me back. I mean she could have said "Hi, I'm booked, I'll put you on my cancellation list". Right? We are talking about months later! So this wonderful angel pulls up in my driveway. My shy puppy greets her like a long lost friend. We discuss his personality and my concerns, how the best to groom him. Then she invited me to come inside her amazing truck so I could help reassure him and keep him calm. I was so pleased. He was so good for her! She was so gentle with him! She really took her time and did an amazing job. I really liked her so much. She had to be exhausted as this was her last appointment for the day. But you could not tell, her attitude remained cheerful and patient the whole time. He looked amazing! My shaggy puppy disappeared and this handsome little guy showed up. Over time as his coat grew in I was so pleased. It really is an art knowing what length to cut different areas and where to cut. Kelli is an artist and a dog whisperer. I have a very hyper golden doodle 70 pound puppy. She would learn things like sit, leave it and…read moreother basic commands, but would only practice these things when she felt like doing so. On our walks she was literally pulling my arm out of socket. Totally uncontrollable if any distraction crossed her path. She was jumping on everyone wanting to great them face to face. So many other bad "puppy" habits. But such a loving dog. She was literally getting to be too much for me to handle at only 8 months old. I turned to Shelly's School for Dogs in desperation. The day we met with Shelly in the lobby he was holding her leash and she was just being Madison, trying to greet EVERYONE who came into the center. Shelly asked why I waited so long...good question! We just completed obedience training/boarding where I would drop her off on Tuesday and pick her up on Saturday. Madison was always very happy when we pulled up and could not wait to get inside...a great indication to me that she was being treated well and she liked this place. Right now we are in the process of the human training stage. Katey has worked miracles with Madison. We can now go for long walks and I do not have to worry about the tiniest distractions. My shoulder is feeling so much better now that I do not have a moose pulling me the entire walk. I am still learning, but Katey has taught Maddie how to be a member of society. I even believe, now, that Madison could someday be a great therapy dog. Katey has brought out the best of my Maddie. Her spirit was never broken. Maddie has what I term "Doodle ADD". She still has this, but now Katey has trained us how to get Madison out of that manic moment and focus when necessary. So Madison is done with her training and now we are in the next stage where the humans learn how to utilize what the dog learned. Amazing! Katey is so patient with us humans. She is listening to our concerns about behaviors at home and teaching/showing us how to deal with these issues. And one important thing I have to say for anyone just thinking about Shelly's School, you pay for the training and it is guaranteed for the life of the dog! In the future, if I mess up and cannot get Madison to respond correctly we can go back at any time for free refreshers. I have read that some are upset that they use the pinch collars. I admit my heart sunk when I went to her "graduation" and saw this had been used. However, I put it on my arm and yanked it very hard and it did not hurt. It is made to simulate the mother correcting her pup. You do not choke the dog, and most of the time it is just hanging loose and does not bother the dog at all. If I need to get her attention a very quick soft tug is all it takes. I take it off the dog at night and in the morning she gets excited when we put her "necklace" on. It looks awful, but with the proper training it works wonders! There is no negative training going on here...positive reinforcement is how they roll! They love our dogs almost as much as we love them.

I took a 10 day road trip for the holidays and on day 3, one of my dogs started acting funny. He started vomiting, would not keep food down and was clearly sick. They were kind enough to take him to the emergency room for me ON NEW YEARS weekend. They also picked him up for me. I am pretty sure most other companies would have had me find a family member to do it because they wouldn't want the liability and/or made me leave the dog in the hospital for the remainder of the trip. Laura was the primary caretaker of the dogs and she went the extra mile (as always) to make sure the dogs were taken care of, new meds and all...and she cleaned up the endless mess that was made by the sick pup. I came home to a clean house and a well taken care of dog. Communication is ALWAYS top notch and they are very accommodating. I have ALWAYS been happy with their services but this time was truly above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone.
