This place is AWESOME…read more I've been twice now for the annual strawberry picking, and the entire experience is great. The fields are well-kept, the staff are extremely friendly and I just generally enjoy being out at the farm to pick my own strawberries to turn into lovely homemade jam. They don't just have strawberries though; they've grown over the past few years and offer raspberry picking, peas, beans, pumpkins and apples, seasonally. The other thing worth mentioning is that they do a fantastic job of managing farm updates on Facebook and their website (www.fruition.ca). With wacky weather and the finicky nature of any harvest, things change pretty quickly. But, their timely updates will let you plan a great visit to the farm for whatever is in season.

The best Farm experience! Christine is an awesome person who…read moreruns a wonderful team of staff. Everyone from the tractor driver to the cashier is always friendly. Very kid friendly with lots of space for them to run around, play on the wooden tractor, play on the hay and of course take a real ride on the tractor that runs non stop. Whether your spending time picking your own or just out to grab fresh picked fruits and veggies everything is always so juicy and tasty. All season long they have things going on, berry picking, corn maze, pumpkin picking, and lots of other great food. The price is perfect $5.25 for a small basket or $10 for a large one. Don't have a basket to bring you can buy them for a $1 and re-use them over and over. Trust me once you experience Fruition you'll be back

Years ago, I used to shop at Farm Boy in Peterborough during my university days at Trent and loved…read moreit. Randomly stopping here a couple of weeks ago while visiting family in my homedown, I rediscovered the brand. For those familiar with Trader Joe's in the States, I would say this store is very close to that level of awesome-ness. Well laid out and lots of "healthier" and organic options. We have tried a few of their store made products including their fresh salsas (try the pineapple one - its amazing!), pizza and pasta sauces. Love how you can find brands here you can't find anywhere else (at least to my knowledge). They have a separate meat counter, deli counter, and prepared foods section along with a large produce area as well. You can even pick up beer and flowers here - a one stop shop! We now make a point of shopping for the week here before we leave town when visiting my family. Can't wait until we get a Farm Boy in our neck of the woods (aka Toronto)!

Stopped in to pick up some green beans. I knew it was the last day of the sale but I did not expect…read morea display of rotten beans. They were disgusting. There were wooden crates in front of the display empty except for the top one which had the same rotten beans in it. I saw what I thought was an employee from the produce section and I said "your beans are rotten." His reply was " a lot of them in there are". Why would a store like Farm Boy dish up the last of their rotten beans instead of discarding them. I was very disappointed that a store that prides itself on its produce would actually charge for rotten beans let alone expect people to buy them.

This little grocery store has all the fixings for a student version of a gourmet dinner. What do I…read moremean by student gourmet? Well, they have all the regular student fare (asian noodles, bulk foods like trail mix and chocolate covered peanuts), but also supply a great selection of more desirable goods like Pig & Olive meats, fresh sushi (to-go) and a great supply of fresh veggies, fruits, eggs, cheeses and dairy products. Thus, you feel a bit more like a grown up when you dine on items from Grocery Checkout! Prices are comparable to Metro, I think, so they aren't gouging students, who must be their primary audience. But, it's not a bargain either - so if you are looking for discount, you better keep on walking down to Food Basics. What this place does do is provide snacks, meals and grocery items in a central location that is perfect for students and staff of Queen's. Staff are friendly, and the layout is compact but well-kept.

If the pasta was allowed time to dry it was fine, however not my favourite pre-made item I've had from this grocery store. Additionally, my friend just finished the kale pesto walnut salad. Neither of us thought the addition of kale to pesto was a great one however we thought we would check it out! The promise of walnuts was not fulfilled which seemed strange considering that the "walnuts" was included in the name. Eventually we decided to mix the excess oil from the greek pasta salad with the kale pesto walnut salad. While this helped the kale pesto salad be a bit more moist, it is clear that this combination was not what grocery checkout intended.
