I will definitely be returning on a weekday but I'm not sure if I would want to take my chances getting a spot on a busy weekend. But you never know until you try.

I wish I knew about all of the toys at this library before I had my own kids so I can incorporate into our playroom; the toys are all wood and natural and so fun! They have a play kitchen that the kids enjoy and they also have a rotating area that features different things like a pretend post office or a pretend band. Aside from the cool kid area this library is modern and easy to navigate. There is a large book selection ( an obvious must for a library) and a good amount of computers to use for internet browsing or to print. By the way, all Hennepin library card owners can print up to 20 pages for FREE each week!

It's also in an older building and it does smell like it - or at least it did on a hotter day. I really give it props because it tries to embrace the community aspect of a library. Nearly half its section devoted to kids and teens. Many posters around about community events. Seems to be balanced with books offered on the shelves - I get you can't please everyone. For all these reasons - I am appreciative of this location. Is this where you go to have a quiet place to study for your SAT/GMAT doctor's exam? Absolutely not. Yesterday, I enjoyed it as much as the children. I bring the granddaughters--ages (almost)2 and 5 to play. The children book sections are fantastic. As the children's sections are separate, there is little concern of their quiet play disturbing the adult section.

Not the case with this library system. Their online system makes it so easy to get holds transferred from other libraries in the county. They are quick and efficient and it's easy to find where your holds are. The library is clean, welcoming, and overall very quiet. They have Toddler Storytime days and Storytime for 3-5 year olds. I used to love taking my toddler there and she had a great time. They sing songs, read books and have a play time after with the library toys. There is also a small sized selection of kids puzzles, a dollhouse, some magnet walls and magnetic tiles. There are also 4 small computers for kids 5+. Computers are also available for adults in a different section near the entrance. Overall it's not the biggest library, but it's beautiful, clean, renovated, and friendly! I love it and I'm glad to have it around.

This is my local library! There are several good places to sit and read or work, and a selection of…read morerooms for groups or individuals. A big open kids section, an iLab, and a sensory room (with tools for people with autism or sensory processing issues to regulate), and a fireplace in the back got added with the renovations that happened a year or two ago. The only thing I'd improve is they don't have many places for book displays, and some of the displays are hidden. The featured teen books are just on a small rotating book stand and some featured non-fiction books are on a wall that's kind of hidden. The best displays are the children's books and Librarians choice books, which are right up front in an open are. Sometimes there's also a table with a book display by the entrance next to all the new books, which is changed regularly, so that's nice. I just wish the book displays particularly for the teen and nonfiction sections were more visible and inviting.
