The St. Paul Public Library is absolutely gorgeous. I came here on a Sunday and it was my first…read moretime visiting. From the outside it looks massive, so when you walk in it can feel a bit more compact than expected, but that is because there are so many different rooms and dedicated spaces instead of one large open area. Each section feels purposeful, which I really liked. The staff were all very kind, and there is a lot more here than just books. There are separate areas for magazines, media, and reading spaces, along with a makerspace that includes things like a 3D printer, a laser engraver, and other equipment that would normally be very expensive to access. Having that available for free is a huge plus. The building itself is beautiful, with a lot of marble and multiple floors that make it feel historic and well maintained. It is a great place to study or just spend some time, and I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are ever in St. Paul.

This library was renovated and reopened this year. The new space is a beauty! They have a gorgeous…read morequiet room with a tranquil water vapor fireplace, as well as ample meeting rooms for studying or having a small meeting. One of my favorite features of the library is the "lucky day" section, where new release books with long holds are available for immediate checkout, thereby skipping the line completely (lucky day, indeed!) There are computers and a 3D printer (which I'd love to utilize one day). This location is part of the self-service program, which allows access to the library 6am-11pm after you've watched a training video and met with staff to receive your self-service pass.

I really like this particular library in St. Paul. It always had a nice selection and was a great…read moreplace to browse and even sit down at a table and look things over before making a selection. It is nestled beside a church and a drug store and you may get lucky to get some street parking but I often was able to pull in between the church and by the book return box and find myself some parking for a tad while I was in there.
