I had a pair of pants that needed hemmed. I took them in, tried them on for her to pin up, and she measured the inseam on the pair I was currently wearing for a great fit. She said they would be ready the next day! I was a bit shocked! I went the next afternoon and the were finished. The price was great and she was excellent! They fit great! She made my dress look perfect on me! I did not like the way the chest and waist part looked before and thought about giving it to my friend. My friend recommanded me to go to Wa Wa alteration and I am very happy with her service. I also brought few skirts with me. She asked me to try on and told me that one of the skirts fitted me okay and tailoring wasn't necessary because it would be too tight and uncomfortable. I agreed with her and I was very thankful for her advice. The best part out of all is that she did all these work within few days at reasonable price! I am so thankful for WaWa alterations - I took an evening gown in to be hemmed that I planned to wear to my daughter's wedding. Upon trying it on, the owner advised that she would like to release some seams to give a little more room in the dress so that it would fit better. She not only hemmed a very complex hem, but she managed to discretely squeeze out a much need 1/4" from the back of the dress - that and my crash diet definitely improved the fit of the dress. I appreciate her honesty and her workmanship. She has done alterations for my children and their friends; this was the first for me...I am pleased to know that there is a sewing magician in town and plan to have her help me have better fit to my clothes. I had a bridesmaid dress altered here for a wedding. Nothing fancy, just taking ~4 inches off a straight, free hanging bottom. She quoted a fair price and then added on an extra fee because the material was "difficult to work with." Then she tried to add on another fee because it was "wrinkled." (It had been hanging inside a garment bag AND I had already steamed it that morning.) When I made a face at the second fee, she quickly tried to re adjust the price back down a few dollars. My event was in 4 weeks and she requested about 10 days to work. Instead of pinning the hem, she just started cutting the bottom off with scissors. Then she assured me that it would be a shorter once it was sewn. Upon pick up, it was still about half an inch longer than I would have liked in the front. The back dragged on the floor by about an inch and a quarter. I didn't bother getting it fixed there and ended up having my grandma bring up the hem again. She was recommended by two friends, so I have a feeling my experience was an anomaly. Her demeanor was pleasant and seemed like she would have offered to adjust my dress had I brought it back in. She also has a little dog in the shop. It just slept in a bed and there was no noticeable hair or smell. read more

Wa Wa Alterations did a wonderful job helping me replace my torn duvet cover with 2 sheets sewn together. This is probably something most people can do but I have no patience or a sewing machine. She not only finished the cover quickly but when I arrived to pick it up she suggested putting Velcro at the bottom to hold the down comforter inside and did so while I waited and with no extra charge! I will go to no other seamstress in Wilmington area! read more
