I had a pair of pants that needed hemmed. I took them in, tried them on for her to pin up, and she measured the inseam on the pair I was currently wearing for a great fit. She said they would be ready the next day! I was a bit shocked! I went the next afternoon and the were finished. The price was great and she was excellent! They fit great! I will recommend her and go back again if needed. read more

Owner was so friendly and willing to help me make a decision on altering a dress that didn't need much done. Her pricing was totally reasonable to hem a multi-layer dress in a very short timeframe. read more

This is a True Mom and Pop operation, and they work well together and the results are very good.

The lady was super nice. Most affordable place in Wilmington. Charged under $20 for a hem on leggings & scrubs. And charged $20 for zipper replacement. Usually takes about 1-1.5 weeks to be able to pick it up. read more

I have taken a number of items of clothing there & they do a real great job, and very quick

I took my wedding dress and fiancés suit to be altered and I was super nervous not taking it to a bridal shop. My dress had significant lace and beading and sequins so I knew it wasn't an easy project. Wa Wa blew me away! They did a wonderful job, were so responsive, and a great value. I've since taken two bridesmaid dresses and will be sure to refer anyone to them! read more

They did a great job on my frock coat . i am pleased with their work. She was very kind to me and very knowledgeable . I'll be coming back with other projects read more

This place has been around since I was a kid!!! Anything from a dress found at a consignment shop that I wanted the size altered on ...to a popped button on a newish pair of jeans. She's always quick and eager to help! read more

She fixed my skirt zipper in 2 minutes and only charged me $5 for it!! Awesome place and I highly recommend it!

She made my dress look perfect on me! I did not like the way the chest and waist part looked before and thought about giving it to my friend. My friend recommanded me to go to Wa Wa alteration and I am very happy with her service. I also brought few skirts with me. She asked me to try on and told me that one of the skirts fitted me okay and tailoring wasn't necessary because it would be too tight and uncomfortable. I agreed with her and I was very thankful for her advice. The best part out of all is that she did all these work within few days at reasonable price! I will definitely come again to Wa Wa. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 15 year wedding renewal and it wouldn't have been possible without the last minute alterations we were given on my wedding dress and his slacks. The service was professional, quick and my dress felt like it was tailor made for me because of the alterations that were done. I would recommend them to anyone that needs alterations and would certainly use them again. read more

I had my dream wedding dress altered here for an INCREDIBLE/UNBEATABLE price. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. They were so communicative with the game plan of what they were altering and how they'd fix each part of the dress, so I knew exactly what to expect just 5 weeks later. The result was perfection. So much care and thoughtfulness went into the entire experience. I'm so happy and can't wait to wear it on my wedding day! Not originally being from the area, I was so happy to find a local Wilmington company to support. You will not be disappointed! :) read more

Excellent workmanship, great prices and quick turnaround. After having some frustration finding someone to alter my wedding dress, I happened to stop into Wa Wa Alterations. She took me right away, quoted a very fair price, and just asked that I pick up the dress as soon as it was done...which was in one week!! Beautiful job steam-pressing as well. Will be sending our bridesmaids and groomsmen there. read more

I had an issue with my blues coat, I got thicker and was trying to get buttons reinforced. Rather, they adjusted the coast for more breathing room on the spot. Amazing, hardworking, and humble people who will get job done!!! Highly recommend! read more

I am so thankful for WaWa alterations - I took an evening gown in to be hemmed that I planned to wear to my daughter's wedding. Upon trying it on, the owner advised that she would like to release some seams to give a little more room in the dress so that it would fit better. She not only hemmed a very complex hem, but she managed to discretely squeeze out a much need 1/4" from the back of the dress - that and my crash diet definitely improved the fit of the dress. I appreciate her honesty and her workmanship. She has done alterations for my children and their friends; this was the first for me...I am pleased to know that there is a sewing magician in town and plan to have her help me have better fit to my clothes. Thank you WA WA - so much read more

2019 DO NOT GO HERE. she does what she wants to do and doesn't care what you want. she did a bad job on my pants hem and refused to correct it. she lies about every- thing and smiles and laughs. there are plenty of tailors in wilmington. DO NO GO HERE read more

I've used Wawa Alterations for my wedding reception dress, pants hemming, and other general alterations and have also sent my husband there for his suits. I'm always satisfied with the outcome and the prices are great! The service is excellent and the turnaround time cannot be beat. It's simple and effective! Best place I've used. Thanks for your great work and for always being a friendly face! read more

Best Alteration place ever in Wilmington.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here for a wedding. Nothing fancy, just taking ~4 inches off a straight, free hanging bottom. She quoted a fair price and then added on an extra fee because the material was "difficult to work with." Then she tried to add on another fee because it was "wrinkled." (It had been hanging inside a garment bag AND I had already steamed it that morning.) When I made a face at the second fee, she quickly tried to re adjust the price back down a few dollars. My event was in 4 weeks and she requested about 10 days to work. Instead of pinning the hem, she just started cutting the bottom off with scissors. Then she assured me that it would be a shorter once it was sewn. Upon pick up, it was still about half an inch longer than I would have liked in the front. The back dragged on the floor by about an inch and a quarter. I didn't bother getting it fixed there and ended up having my grandma bring up the hem again. She was recommended by two friends, so I have a feeling my experience was an anomaly. Her demeanor was pleasant and seemed like she would have offered to adjust my dress had I brought it back in. She also has a little dog in the shop. It just slept in a bed and there was no noticeable hair or smell. read more

Quick turn around and reasonably priced for simple alterations e.g. hems, elastic waist band, etc. Apparently does not do major alterations e.g. bridal gowns, formal wear, more complex tailoring ... read more

I have been going to WaWa for more than 10 years. I would not use anyone else. I once had her alter a size 10 dress down to a size 2 and it was perfect! I am convinced she can do anything. She does great quality work, fast and affordable! read more

she did really skilled alterations: aside from the usual, she altered a pair of pants for me that were way too big- so big I didn't think they could be saved- and made them fit perfectly. She's a gifted seamstress. read more

Wa Wa Alterations did a wonderful job helping me replace my torn duvet cover with 2 sheets sewn together. This is probably something most people can do but I have no patience or a sewing machine. She not only finished the cover quickly but when I arrived to pick it up she suggested putting Velcro at the bottom to hold the down comforter inside and did so while I waited and with no extra charge! I will go to no other seamstress in Wilmington area! read more
