I wish I had taken pictures of the clothes that we had taken in for repair. I had a very expensive soft silk sweater that have kept in my closet for 2 years because it had a hole in the back of it. It was repaired so beautifully that I can't even tell where it was and I'm extremely impressed. My husband also had a very expensive sweater that our dog chewed a hole in and it was also repaired without being able to see where that was done. To sum up, this lady and her husband are literally the best. She is very knowledgeable on alteration services, and will give her advice and honestly let you know what she can or cannot accomplish. I first came to her for my Wedding Dress alterations. My dress has very intricate and delicate fabric and EXPENSIVE so I did a lot of research in finding a good place to get alterations done. I also live in Jacksonville, so I literally drive all the way to Wilmington for this lady, and I'm so glad I did. Other shops in my area were very hit or miss, and the place my bridal shop recommended "may not be able to complete alterations in time," for my March wedding. I was seeking services at the end of December. So, I landed on this place. She did an amazing job, and it only took her two weeks!! Not to mention the pricing was decent. After this, we came back to get my husbands suit altered, and I went back to get a ball gown altered as well, in which she had to adjust the waist bigger and alter the zipper. And again, exceptional service and really happy with the result. I never did get a call from them when the dresses or suit were done, so I just went back there on or after the date she said she'd have it done. And she did, every time. So just keep that in mind, you may have to call or go in to inquire about whether or not it's ready, but 100% guarantee it will be by the date she gives you. I needed a few things altered & repaired. My grandmother used to be a seamstress (as in made all of the majorette uniforms for my mother growing up) so my mom is VERY quick to notice seams & tailoring even when she buys clothes or remarks on my outfit. When I gave my mom her clothes she inspected the items I had fixed for her and she quickly said "wow! They are GOOD!!!" And pointed out different aspects of why this was such a good job. It's a small shop, so ladies, if you need bra cups sewn into a dress, stop by JoAnn Fabrics and pick up a pair for her to work with. Love this place! Going to be my go to alteration place. Service was great and the shop owner gave me great advice on the bridesmaid dress I was altering. She was patient even when I called the bride to see what she preferred as far as floor length etc. I got a strapless dress altered to be tighter and it fit like a glove. When I started using this alteration shop I was pleased with the work and turn around time. In the last year I liked the work well enough to have spent 3,000.00 with her. Unfortunatly over the last 4 months things have changed. I took her 9 new suits to alter and 8 needed rework. She measured the sleeves correctly and gave me a rather far out completion date. When the date arrived, only 1 piece was ready fro pick up. It took her 3 more weeks to complete the alterations (sleeves, suspender buttons and cuffs) and non of the sleeves were done correctly, in fact they were all inches shorter thean they should have been. I am now into this horror 8 weeks and she still owes me 1 suit. The work was less than professional and the dates the materials were promised came and went. Jae is a pleasant woman but I think she sells snake oil. WATCH OUT read more
