As a devoted animal lover, I only expect to see the best of the best conditions when it comes to animals in pet shop. I come into this shop to be sickened by the sight of not only 2 adult gerbils in a small 10inch square vivarium, but 2 adults with 4 juveniles and 8 newborns in unacceptable living conditions. Little food and no water when I visited, I requested to the worker on duty that there was no water in the tank and that she filled it. She filled the small water bottle half full and said that gerbils don't drink much water having gerbils myself, I know this, however that this is no excuse for animals in a vunerable position to not have access to clean drinking water 24/7. Once watered, ALL the gerbils scrambled to gain access to it, with at times 3 drinking from the bottle at one time. This is clear evidence to me that they have not had access to water in some time. It was awful to watch. I understand that gerbils whom have recently given birth should not be moved or handled after 3 weeks. However if the gerbils where brought in pregnant and the staff knew this why didn't they place the gerbils in a larger, more suitable home, in a quiet private place off shop floor! I think it's disgusting how they treat and present their animals and how little they seem to check on the vunerable. DO NOT BUY A KITTEN FROM THIS PET SHOP!!!! i bought an 8 week old kitten from here 2 weeks ago, after purchase I took him straight to the vets to find out he was riddled with fleas and lice! And I was very worried as he had a very pop belly, at my next opportunity to get to town (2 days later) I went in to complain. The woman took no responsibility stating they don't issue spot on for the fleas but ther own treatment which has the same main active ingredient (in other words the cheap crappy stuff that does nothing) and as for the lice she stated there was nothing they can do about that and if we had a compliant it should have been done within 48 hours! Erm how about not chucking litter after litter of kittens into the same discussing bedding as the previous ones!!! She offerd a pouch or 2 of food as a good will gesture I did not accept. Well today I TOOK MY KITTEN BACK TO THE VETS as I was very concerned about his belly and came to the devastating news that he has a serious infection that must have been underlying for weeks and he may not recover from it! Will this pet shop take any responsibility . Nope! So I am warning all people DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SHOP! I have purchased kittens from pet shops before, but was not ready for what I sore in this shop. I fully agree with the person that left the other review, this shop is about money and not about animal care. On entering the shop I went to see the kittens in the crate. 4 very small, & I mean small, scared kittens hiding at the back under a cat scratcher with about 8 other people trying to get them to come out, banging the cage and prodding them through the bars. I spoke to the girl about them she told me that they had come in that morning and where 8 weeks old. And that it could be mine to take home today for £100. I will not buy another thing from this shop again as it give pet shop a bad name. read more

I've bought two kittens on separate occasions from this shop and have never had any problems at all. The staff are always very nice and the cages are always clean ( I go into the shop a few times a week and they never look dirty or smell). The only complaint I have is that I wish the shop carried different animals but I suppose they don't have the room. Keep up the good work nixons the other people commenting on here are obviously trying to drag a good name down!! read more

i have bought a kitten from this shop and she is perfectly healthy, plus i did not pay £100 for her, she was priced at £55, the cage was pristine and not cramped. i regularly use this pet shop and havent had any problems to date. The staff are always pleasant and ready to help and the manager is very nice and always ready to answer any questions u may have. read more
