I was after a copy of Pevsner, (eclectic tastes, I'm afraid) and they had the full range in stock. Great stuff. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. A long queue formed on my visit, but they got in 2 extra staff to tackle it after less than a minute. Recommended.

They don't take refunds on statute books (a book which has the law of something on it, in my case…read morethe Companys Act, 2006 and related laws). Something they didn't tell me when I first purchased the product. Something that wasn't reflected in the receipt. Something that wasn't on a sign on the counter. All they could offer was "sorry". What is the reason for this, I asked? Because statute books can be photocopied and returned. But that is the same for ALL books in theory. Actually it is even less likely for statute books, because YOU CAN PRINT IT FOR FREE ON THE INTERNET. I imagine they must have other nonsensical policies out there just waiting to bite you. Out of principle, I won't be buying anything from this place ever. Amazon here I come.

This BUT is the café's air-condition. I understand that when it is 28° outside, they want to cool their spaces down a bit, but what they are doing is way over the top. I have to bring additional layers which I put on *inside* the café, which just feels completely stupid. Plus air-conditioning is extremely energetically demanding (much more than heating), so in the price of my drink I am effectively covering the cost of them making me feel unpleasant.

There are two separate central displays and the rest of the books are on the wall all around the shop. This makes it very easy to get around if you have a buggy or are disabled. There are a range of discount books on every topic imaginable, from childrens books to cookery books to biographies, fiction and much more. Prices are competitive, with books often sold as being damaged (even though you would find it difficult to find something wrong with them). The stock does regularly change, so if I see something I like then I tend to buy it then and there as it might not be there next time i'm in town. Parking is either in the town centre which is fine, but can be a bit difficult carrying heavy books to one of the surrounding car parks.

This is one of my favourite places in Norfolk. At first glance it's just a café (and a very good…read moreone at that) with a few bookshelves, but venture into the back room, or even into the cellar and you are met with hundred of second hand books, some really old, some foreign, some practically new.
