Its a small shop, with lots of books and displays crammed in, making it a tight squeeze sometimes. All the books are catagorised into genres, and they are well marked out so easy to find. At the back of the shop is where all the childrens books are, as well as the small amount of DVD's and CD's they stock. The top end of the shop is where all the adults books are, as well as the huge range of magazines and newspapers. The store is well looked after, the book shelves and displays are kept well arranged and neat. Staff are very helpful and are friendly and polite

Everytime I come in here it makes me want to paint all my house an off white colour, as this is the colour of the walls in here and it shows off all the stunning ornaments and pictures so well. I have previously bought little wooden and metal heart decoration to hang on the wall. THe also do a range of the very fashionable retro metal tins, with the writing on the front. I have one for my pegs and one for washing powder. The items are reasonably priced. At the moment they have an absolutely stunning range of Christmas decorations. It took all my willpower to stop buying yet more decorations when I visited the other day. I am sure I will succumb before Christmas though!!

I recently managed to buy some elusive go gos here when there were non to be bought anywhere else (and elevated myself to hero status in the eyes of my eldest!). Staff are helpful and friendly and provide good customer service and prices are as good as anywhere else! The only downside is that it is tucked away at the end of the high street and consequently is very easily missed!

Maysons has recently split into two separate male and female stores. The Women's shop is very small, where as the Men's is much bigger with plenty of stock. Maysons sells Jeans, T Shirts, Jumpers, Belts, Underwear, Shoes, Flip Flops. They also change stock quite regularly so you can always find the latest fashion accessories here. It is definitely worth taking a visit to Maysons if you're ever in Hitchin - especially when they have a sale on. Bargains to be had!

I am sure you are now wondering why, well let me explain it to you. This Oxfam has been laid out and designed to be modern and funky to entice people of, perhaps, a younger generation in. It is so close to Anglia Ruskin University that it draws in all sorts of students too. This Oxfam doesn't just sell second hand clothes and accessories, oh no it sells artistic work, old vinyl records and some very oddball items. This Oxfam has been created to appeal to creative people, nostalgic people and modern people. It has such a fresh approach that it completely breaks the boundary of the mundane existence of most charity shops. The only downfall with this Oxfam shop is that, through it's modern vibe, it seems to feel it has the right to be more expensive. I, and hopefully you, can forgive this as it encompasses so many levels of cool! You can't miss it, it is the first store you will see on Mill Road and it is at least worth a look see.
