Mold & Marijuana From the beginning of when my roommate and…read moreI moved in (November 2019) there has been MULTIPLES occasions of BLACK mold. It was infesting our apartments throughout the bathroom, the water heater closet, and both bedrooms from the floor board half way up to the ceiling. We would constantly put in work orders and they were never there in a timely manner. It took days to get the bedroom mold free just for it to come back three weeks later. We have had to throw an entire dresser, bed, bed frame, and box spring out because it was covered in mold underneath it. The bathroom ceiling mold was fixed, but never repainted. The bathroom started in December two weeks after we moved in, and it is still not painted 6 months later. The air conditioner and toilet was/is still covered in mold, and we were being accused of opening the windows and causing the mold. Why would we open windows in the middle of January? As for the marijuana smell; there has been a constant smell ever since we moved in. The bathroom always smelled like cigarettes because of the residents smoking upstairs, and this caused the entire bathroom ceiling to turn a burnt yellow color. We had a kitchen light burnout in December so we put in a work order, and this too still hasn't been fixed 6 months later. It is not just us that have had mold problems and marijuana smell either. There have been numerous residents express their mold concerns throughout our building, and the old maintenance man even confirmed more apartments infested with mold. There have been papers stating in our building the marijuana smell, but nothing has been done about it. My roommate and I have been sick with respiratory illnesses every few weeks, and this was always when a new mold case would pop up again in our apartment. The management has never worked well with us and we feel they were trying to take advantage of us because of our young age. They are currently trying to have my roommate and I replace the broken blinds that were broken when we moved in, and they only ever gave us one instead of two blinds.

I knew I would do more blinds in the future, so naturally I called the owner to get a quote for a less expensive, yet still esthetically nice blind on several windows in my house. The quote went well, though I remember vividly that I thought the blinds had a lining - I told the owner I wanted more privacy, and he understood. My quote came in a little under $2000, unlined, as discussed - when I tried calling him about the lining - and emailing him, he dodged every email and text. I finally got tired of the owner not responding, so I picked up the phone and called him on a workday at 7:30-8 - to which he was irritated and asked me if I knew how early it was - don't most people that work/own their own business get up early? I do! I own my own business. I was also told that I am not his only customer - who says that to a repeat customer?! It's business 101! Paul, the installer, installed a defective blind in my back hall - too late - he drilled holes in the door. He said he would order another replacement ASAP. I can only pull down the shade 8' on a long skinny window that is over 6 feet! I am sure you can imagine my irritation. I tried to be calm, email him every week or week and a half so as not to harangue him - no response. I finally rec'd a pithy email after sending him several texts, and emails; the one and only response was 'it was ordered the day of install' this was early Jan. It is now almost March. Bryan will not return my calls, emails, etc. the shade was approx $400 - and it totally defective! I am afraid to touch it for fear it will break. Them shades look cheap for almost $2000. I just wanted him to make good on his promise, apparently he doesn't care. I would advise people to go elsewhere for an estimate - even Lowes. Boy was I wrong in thinking the owner would be a moral, decent, honest businessman - I was wrong. If anyone needs to discuss, come see the defective blind, or knows a good small claims court attorney, I would appreciate the name of someone that can help me get my money back. I will never use this company ever again. Anyone I speak with will know what happened to me, and hopefully not suffer the same poor customer service and warranty provided. I even reached out to the corporate store to see if they could help, no help at all! It seems to be company policy to not service the customer. They get the money all upfront, so if anything is wrong, you are relying on them to do the right thing. It really opened my eyes to what the owner and company is like as a whole. BEWARE!!!! This place is a joke. We had flooring, doors and trim done and paid half upfront. Told…read moreit was a 3 day job.... 2 weeks later we had to finally just tell them to not come back. The new flooring on my stairs is already off the day after they removed the tape and said it was good to go. They completely forgot to trim my kitchen. My BRAND NEW sliding door/screen was ruined by this company and they didn't even care! They used spray foam on a part of the flooring they were "fixing" and the foam went up the screen door and attached it. We did get the screen slider broke free but now it does not slide properly and there is no way to get the foam out of the actual screen. This door was less than a year old. Talked to the manager and it was excuse after excuse. They gave a "discount" on our final bill which was a LIE. Simple math tells anyone 6K off 15K does NOT equal 14K. We also had one room not even touched and they still charged for it. The work quality is trash! We had to hire another company to come in and repair at least one thing in every room. Do not waste your time or money on this place if you want it to look good. This is the Fort Wayne IN location. They are posting my location as CA which is weird.
