First of all, outside the restaurant there was a Menu announcement/advert promoting the menu "Brasserie" (Brewery), but alas they did not serve that on Saturday evenings! Why the menu invite outside then? We said, it's alright let's try something "available" and therefore, my wife and I went for the menu "Découverte" ( Discovery) 40€ per head and discovered that the three courses that I ordered was in fact 2 starters and one dessert! Starter:6 huîtres froides Main: Filet Mignon de veau Dessert: Tiramisu à la Pina Colada (see pictures) Indeed, looking from the quantity that I got, my main meal was looking more to a second starter rather to a main course. To accompany my Filet Mignon (3 small pieces of veal) there was no salad, potato's or whatsoever. The three pieces of "polenta au lard fumé" was just a de make a nice presentation. Basically I got a huge dish with very little on it. Granted, it was very tasty but, for the amount of food we got on our dishes the price was really exaggerated. What about the service? Well, the service was toooo slooowww. If you go for a meal there just think to have some spare time to waste. And I mean it! It took us no less than two hours and half from the moment we did order to the moment we paid the bill. And it was not on a rush hour. The restaurant's estimated occupancy at that moment (Saturday evening) was about 50%. The bottom line is that it is not the place that I will return to and I will certainly not recommend it either. There are many other fine restaurants in Chalons-en- Champagne where you can have a very nice dinner. I will certainly return to Chalons-en- Champagne but NEVER EVER again into "Les Caudalies".
