Staff were friendly enough and, whilst it made for a nice evening, like I said, it all feels a bit stuck in time. I just don't think I'd travel out here again given that the impressive Cineworld and iconic GFT reside in the city centre surrounded by an abundance of fantastic places to eat and drink. The decor is pretty tired but I actually really liked the retro vibe! There were even drinks fountains and dodgy geometric patterned carpets. Great selection of hot drinks, snacks and everything you would expect from a well stocked cinema. The seats in the screens themselves aren't as plush and comfortable as a more modern cinema, and the screen was a bit smaller that I expected but the viewing quality and sound was excellent. The ticket prices aren't too friendly, especially at the weekend, but it's a decent enough cinema. They do 3d movies and decent food, which is overpriced as usual. Last time I was there some guy came in with a crazy video camera that flashed green to look around in the dark to see if anyone was recording the movie. It looked like a speedcamera and it was so creepy it completely took me out of the experience of watching the film, it was surreal. I was not impressed.

As with most cinemas these days, tickets are pretty expensive (£8.45 on the Saturday night we visited). We'd purchased our tickets beforehand, so didn't need to queue for our tickets on the night, but the ticket queue was pretty long and seemed to move slow due to the folks shelling out for huge buckets of popcorn and snacks. I clocked some of the prices (eh £3.35 for a big bag of Doritos and the same for chocolate!). I really don't know how these places get away with charging what they do. I was mildly tempted to have some Ben & Jerry's icecream but decided to stick with the snacks we'd smuggled in, and save myself a fiver! Whilst waiting outside our screening to enter the cinema, it was slightly off putting to hear the rumbling/ noises from other screens(one of which had the door open and was showing the end of the film we were about to see!) Our official showing time was 6.15 but we didn't get allowed into the screen till twenty past, which was slightly annoying. However, it did mean that they seemed to miss out the adverts at the beginning, which was good given we were in for a three hour movie (don't you wish they would give you a break in the middle :) ) I'm not sure if its the same for every movie but we had preassigned tickets and had opted for quite near the back in the middle. I think these days most cinemas are first come first served with seats, and personally I prefer this. The screen wasn't the biggest I've been in and think some of the Glasgow cinemas are probably better for this. That being said, this cinema is pretty handy for me, and is somewhere I'll visit (or be dragged to) depending on the movie!

Situated above 4 restaurants in the middle of a shopping centre, you'd think it would be absolutely chaotic, but it was relatively quiet the night we went, and that was for orange Wednesdays as well! The staff seemed pleasant and competent for a new opening, and I thoroughly like this wee cinema! I'm sure it'll get busier the more people notice that it's there, especially with the restaurants underneath!

If you are buying snacks here be aware that there is an Asda just a few minutes and you can buy your items there, some items nearly four times cheaper. A pack of M&M's where £3.95 and Asda was £1.00 that's s massive £2.95 of a difference. The cinema area was small but the seats where comfortable. I couldn't get a phone or wifi signal anywhere. I would come back to this cinema.

Great news we have a cinema back at the fort!…read more Last time I visited the old cinema the floor was sticky and the old place stunk. But now we have a fresh cinema that all shiny & brand new! Plenty of screens & toilets. Last few times it's been relatively quiet, which is nice! You can choose your seat and chill. It has a costa, so you even grab a coffee and take it into the screen with you, beats a fizzy drink sometimes! Opposite costa is the odeon's fast food bit with nachos and drinks etc to get you munching through the moo ooo vie!

I haven't had a bad experience with them yet and they are always super helpful and funny. The food and drink offering is good here too. It also has an in house costa coffee if you prefer to take one of those in instead. Handy as you don't have to walk to the ones further away. On Friday and Saturday book your tickets online and collect them. I was let down the other week when my showing was sold out but the guy was really nice behind the til and gave us VIP seats for our alternative viewing. Like I said..super nice. There are also loads of choices for food either before or after in the surrounding restaurants.

This means that every screen has recliner seats and little tables, for your drinks and food, that swings round to sit in front of you. The seats are super comfy, with the button on the inside of the arm to recline the seat. They also have an ISENSE screen, which is a ceiling to floor, wall to wall screen for 4K projection including Dolby Atmos sound. The food is also so much better. They have better options from potato lattices, hot dogs and I swear the the popcorn tastes better. They even sell alcohol now. The only thing is it is pricey but the experience is better. They also have a Limitless Card at £17.99 per month. I'm still an Unlimited Card member at Cineworld so I'm torn. Do I stay or do I change over? A wee decision I will make at a later date. If you haven't experienced the Luxe, I would definitely give it a go soon, you won't be disappointed. I have to admit though the seats are a bit too comfy that I did dose off for a wee bit! Hehe! Oops!

As the town's only cinema, the Odeon has to seriously up its game…read more Okay, so it fulfils its core function of showing the latest high profile releases on generally decent sized screens. However, they must have cut back on expenditure in recent times as the cinema interior, from kiosk to the actual halls need a lick of paint. There is also no longer a box office (been covered up with posters) and tickets are purchased in paper receipt format at the food kiosk or from machines. For me, I genuinely enjoyed going up to the box office, checking out the times and ordering my seats etc., as well as getting a proper ticket. Would that be so difficult to re-instate? Years ago, there also used to be screens placed above the food area with the latest trailers. These have long since gone but would make such a difference to the pre-show hype and excitement. The food is as you'd expect, over priced but at least they do cheese nachos properly. Proper warm cheese fondant drizzled over your nachos with jalapenos. Guacamole and salsa on offer too. The cinema halls have some chairs taped up (never to be repaired again?) and the hall we were in yesterday had a large hole in the wall. Cineworld, Showcase and Vue are miles better in the upkeep and presentation of their premises. Film choice is solely aimed at the mainstream, which is fine but it wouldn't hurt to throw in the odd left field choice. East Kilbride is a large town with many arts-minded people who have to travel into Glasgow to get their film of indie-ness. The plaza part of the town centre (where the Odeon sits) is undergoing an overhaul to compete with the likes of Silverburn. The Odeon will have to move with the times eventually or stick out like a sore thumb.

The seats move with the movie, and water or mist will spray into your face, as the movie dictates (gun shots, water scenes, etc). They also have large fans that will generate a cool breeze during certain movie scenes, and smells are added as well (gun smoke). This is the King of all movie theaters! There's also a bar in the cinema. We were able to have a few cocktails while waiting for our movie. I learned after, that they also offer a VIP theater, where drinks and food are brought to you! As I stated, if you're in Glasgow, you MUST add this to your list!

I've signed up for SeeFilmFirst and most of the time the previews are held at this particular Odeon and have been here more than a few times to see the latest flicks. The screens offer ample seating and they're always at a comfortable temperature. There's nothing worse going to the cinema to find yourself shivering the whole way through... but then it isn't exactly great when it's too warm either, especially when the guy next to you has forgotten to put on his Lynx that morning. This Odeon also has a great range of (overpriced) bites to eat and every time I visit I always get an Ice Blast, mixed, of course.

This is one of those that you consider going to when you really want to see a film a few months after it has had its major release. Yes, of course they have premier showings, but they are few and far between. Being used to the bigger and better equipped (sound wise) cinema's in Glasgow and Edinburgh it is not one I'd like to visit for a good cinematic experience. Small waiting area and for the popular fils you are sometimes asked to wait in the queue outside. Greenock is not know for its extended dry periods so - if you are going to see a popular film, that has been out for a little while in the big city cinemas, then you'd better bring somewaterproofs. Still it is a cinema and as I understand they only one in Greenock. They've been there for enough years to think they are doing something right.

Weirdly, they don't seem to have a dedicated ticket desk, at least not one that's consistently in operation. Rather, you can buy tickets from the self-service machines, or from any of the concessions stands. Maybe it's just me, but I feel a bit awkward buying tickets at the popcorn stand if I'm not buying popcorn. Maybe that's the point. Who knows? In any case, the staff didn't bat an eyelid and just let us choose a seat and pointed us to the screens. So far I have only visited this cinema once, midweek and for a small-ish movie. I seriously doubt the screen we saw was their main flagship screen, but it was almost funny how small it was. I know people with bigger projector screens in their living rooms. That said, it was fine - the picture was fine, the sound was fine, nothing about the movie-going experience was damaged by the small screen. Even so, I reckon they might be due an upgrade. The cinema is fine, the staff are good, getting tickets is efficient once you figure out where to buy them. Plus, they run the same Cineworld Unlimited discounts that every other branch runs, and you're right by a bunch of places that also offer discounts to cinema-goers. I'm sure we'll be back.

Seats weren't particularly comfortable, I wouldn't choose to sit through 3 back to back lord of the rings movies but you can survive through a single dodgy comedy movie. On the plus side they have a Starbucks concession in the building to add to their normal pick and mix popcorn and hotdogs. I can't say I will be back as the prices are servilely inflated for the services on offer and quality of the cinema itself. Staff seem to have been brought down the suroundings inside the cinema itself with their general mood could be percieved as downtrodden as the quality of the cinema. They really need a re-vamp in here and soon.
