Quaint and super…read moreclean, I thought it would be more of a butcher shop but it's very much so a small town market vibe. Nonetheless, there was a really great variety of meats available packaged and ready to go as well as a great array of sweets, drinks, and other food items. I ended up grabbing a Tbone, NY strip, and some monster cookies for our dinner and the steaks were amazing! The cashier didn't know exactly what farm the meat was sourced from but she did say it was local to the Midwest and that's good enough for me. The cookies were sooo delicious, soft, and had big chunks of chocolate chip with peanuts too!

The selection of pastries was actually pretty large and they had a pretty decent selection of meats to pick from. They also have fried chicken which looked excellent. The staff was also friendly when you talked to them but didn't really go out of their way to interact. I would say the let down for me was the choice of breakfast sandwiches and also it does not appear they do normal sandwiches either which was the main reason I had gone hoping they had them as many other markets do. Still overall worth checking out.

Great place - 5 stars!…read more I've been buying most of my meat products from Coborn's in Ramsey for many years. But I haven't been very happy with the "Four Brothers" brand. (The previous "Kretschmar" brand was even worse.) Fortunately, I visited Anoka Meat and Sausage for the first time and I'm very impressed. This is definitely my new go-to spot for my zero-carb, meat based diet. This place has nearly everything you could ever want from a meat market. Plus, they have tons of extra specialty products like spices, rubs, sauces...and more. And they're the ONLY place I've found (so far) in my local area that offers bacon with no added sugar! I don't know why it's is so hard to find processed meat with no sugar. Companies insist on throwing sugar in every damn food product and they even do it with meat...rotisserie chickens, hot dogs, sausages, hot dogs, jerky, brats, bacon, braunschweiger, etc. Don't believe me? Read the labels. They try to hide it by listing sugars on the ingredient label as organic cane juice, turbinado sugar, sucanat, molasses, honey, dextrose, kings syrup, invert syrup, maltose...you name it...they try to sneak it in everything. I found a website that lists sugars by 65 difference deceptive and sneaky names. It's sad. I guess the big food companies want everyone to be diabetic. Last but not least, the employees are very friendly and I feel the prices are very reasonable. You can go to Main Street Anoka and buy a high end product for the same price (or less) than the big box grocery stores with questionable quality. What's not to love? Thumbs up! -Maxx

I finally made it over around lunch time and apologized in advance because I wanted to "taste test" a variety of different items. The gentleman who was helping me was super patient and just overall thrilled to have me wanting to try so many things so this was my spread & reactions: 1. Turkey jerky - very interesting compared to others I've had, a bit too salty for my liking but my husband said it was in his top 2 and is a turkey jerky fiend so I'd take his word over mine 2. Normal jerky - a little thinner than I prefer but really great flavor, easy to chew without being too soft nor hard like leather. It's in MY top two for sure! 3. Beef stick & cheese beef stick - these were both really good! The butcher helping me recommended trying the cheese because it's his personal favorite but I actually thought the normal beef was actually better! 4. Smoked salmon - this was actually my favorite of all the different snacks we tried, it was smoked really well that brought out the natural flavors of the fish. It wasn't dry or crumbled, but kept its own and easily was devoured without any morsel left behind! Although I didn't try anything from the freezers, they had such a huge variety we just have to come back again soon! Thanks for the great service and hospitality while I took forever to explore!

Most items weren't familiar, but the two women behind the counter were super helpful. There was a selection of kass beverages, and I had memories of having it when in Russia, but didn't remember what it tasted like. I asked one of the ladies, and she just opened a bottle and poured a cup for my son and me. After a few minutes, when we decided we wanted to buy the bottle, she said it was too late, as she finished it! We ended up with a couple bottles along with some meat pies (awesome after warmed in a microwave for about 40 seconds) and warm poppy seed pastries. Will definitely be back soon!

The market prices have gotten to expensive and I'd rather give my money to a small business vs a CEO. And Rogers isn't too far off a drive from Blaine, plus extended family is in the area. And I don't care for VonHanson's or Anoka Meats. So road trip to Rogers it is. I've grown up eating smoked meats from Thielen Meats (Pierz, MN) so I judge smoky smells and flavor to them. And walking into the market they definitely had something being smoked in the back! I saw a buffet on one side of the market but that was empty today. Only lunch buffet is offered during the week. Lots of deep freezers and upright freezers to grab different proteins (sausage, weiners, jerky, beef sticks, ground beef, patties and seafood). They also had a freezer full of take n bake pies. They also had a fresh deli salad and meat counter. Two guys working the fresh meat counter were very helpful. Gave me written instructions on cooking everything. It was only me and 1 other person the whole time. After I paid and waited for sis to pay, then 5 other people/families walked in. It got busy quick. We bought a frozen bologna ring (big shoes to fill because...Theilens), a stuffed pork chop, 2 cheesy Twice baked potatoes, and 2 stuffed jalapeños. Also 75/25 beef/pork blend of ground hamburger for only $4.49/lb. That's a price I like. We just came from MG Costco and price compared on different cuts of beef (ground, roast, sirloin, chops). These guys are just a tish cheaper too, which was surprising. Made a pork chops, potatoes and jalapeños for dinner tonight. Oh yeah! We'll be back. Those tastes 10 times better than Hyvees fresh meat counter.
